I couldn't have asked for a better experience with Savills--both with Sarah in lettings and Mathew in property management. We were moving internationally, and Savills was one of the only letting agencies that would work with us before we arrived. In fact, they were able to verify our identities in a US branch, which expedited the whole process. The property is just what we expected. Can only speak for my experience with the lettings side as I have had no dealings with sales. Savills talks a big game, charges even bigger fees and neither met expectations.
The team were perfectly polite, but that’s pretty much where the positive experience ended. For a start, the brochure that the agent produced was astonishingly poor; the photographer was great, but I spent two hours correcting the wording, grammar, spelling and punctuation! Communication was initially very limited; I requested callbacks that never came, though admittedly this improved (with prompting). The main agent showing my property failed to arrange an initial viewing for me to show the property to them. How can you authentically show a property to a viewer when you don’t know a thing about it yourself?
Feedback from viewings was extremely scant. Whilst an (one!) offer was received during the time Savills had the property, this didn’t meet the requirements for a tenant that I had expressed at the outset.
Sorry to say that so many basic things were missed and I expected much better from Savills.... Read more
