30th Mar 2026 (11 weeks ago)Peter Murray made an illegal will for my uncle, Sir Michael Maxwell Bt, in 2013, who was in the depths of frontal lobe dementia (this was against medical and legal advice). They were the sole executor and sole witness to this will. Micheal had been sectioned and told he could not make a will in England prior to this. They hid a relevant doctor’s letter which was only extracted by lawyers. The firm has refused to admit liability despite overwhelming and unequivocal evidence and caused huge headache a heartache for our family over the past 5 years and huge legal costs. They are unprofessional and to be avoided at all costs. They have also stopped family staying at our family home - Monreith- and prevented my mother’s burial there. It is disgusting. The contents of the will are inconceivable to all family and destroy our family’s 800 year history in Dumfries and Galloway.

11th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)We used Cullen Kilshaw for a sale and purchase of a property, the service was fantastic throughout, they were really helpful and always easy to contact. We had a stressful time with our chain but Morag was great at guiding us through the process and great at holding others to account. Would recommend for all conveyancing needs!

11th May 2026 (5 weeks ago)I cannot recommend Andrew and his team highly enough. From our very first conversation, Andrew put me at ease during what was an incredibly difficult and stressful time. The team handled everything from start to finish and was always available to offer support. Andrew truly went above and beyond, providing not only professional excellence but also genuine personal care. Having used other agents in the past, I can say none come close to this level of service. I wouldn’t dream of using anyone else in the future.

I worked specifically with Katherine Wilson for this process, who was exceptional throughout. She was highly professional, knowledgeable, and—most importantly—kept us consistently in the loop. Legal matters can often feel overwhelming, but Katherine’s clear communication made everything straightforward and stress-free. I wouldn't hesitate to use this firm again for any future legal matters (and indeed I have since engaged with them for will writing) and I highly recommend their services to anyone looking for reliable and professional representation.

Our selling agent, Chris, was very helpful and responsive to any queries we had, and the girls in the office — especially Kerra, who we dealt with most — were always friendly, approachable, and extremely helpful. They kept us updated throughout the process. We would definitely recommend the team at Your Move Dumfries to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Their professionalism is exceptional, but what truly sets them apart is their kindness and understanding during what is naturally a difficult time. Laura Robb was outstanding throughout. No matter how many questions I had, she always responded quickly, clearly, and with real patience. She made everything easy to understand and gave me complete confidence every step of the way. Mark McMinn, who handled the sale of my uncle’s house, was equally impressive. He kept me fully informed throughout the process and ensured everything progressed seamlessly. What could have been a stressful experience was handled with such efficiency and care that it felt straightforward and well-managed at all times. I cannot recommend JHS Law highly enough. I was initially quite apprehensive about working with solicitors again after a very poor experience during my own recent house sale and purchase. However, JHS Law have completely restored my faith. They are professional, approachable, and truly excellent at what they do. Without hesitation, I will be using them again in the future.

Thanks to Joshua (solicitor with Walker and Sharpe) the whole process was made less stressful than it might have been. Joshua helpfully guided me through each step in the process and kept me fully informed throughout. I cannot recommend Joshua highly enough.
