Hamptons marketing to potential purchasers resulted in a regular viewings by worthy parties. In addition, the communications we received before and after each viewing was much appreciated so that we always felt appraised of the interest in our property. In the lead up to exchange of contracts and then sale completion, Hamptons played very helpful role to liaise with our purchasers. This enabled a smooth and amicable path to completion. For their professionalism, knowledge of the market, attention to detail, regular advice & guidance and first rate communications, we would recommend Hamptons without reservation.

22nd Apr 2026 (13 days ago)We recently had to vacate our home of 14 years after our landlord decided to sell, which was incredibly difficult for us. The news hit us hard, especially my wife, who was understandably very upset for quite some time. From day one, Northwood promised to support us—and they truly delivered on that promise. Their team was kind, understanding, and consistently supportive throughout the entire process. Communication was excellent, and they regularly kept us updated while presenting suitable properties for us to consider. Finding us a new home clearly became a priority for them, and their dedication really showed. The whole team went above and beyond to make a stressful situation feel manageable, and they genuinely helped lift our spirits during a tough time. Thanks to their hard work, we’ve now found a new home and are happy once again. We’re incredibly grateful for everything they did and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

We initially spoke with Steve who explained our options in a clear manner which made the process easy to understand. We also had dealings with Charlotte who was also prompt with calls and updates. Would definitely recommend the Medway team!
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!

They kept a cool head when I was losing mine, and steered the process towards a successful conclusion. I've used them before and would definitely use them again.

13th Apr 2026 (22 days ago)If a zero-star rating were possible, that would more accurately reflect my experience. I am extremely disappointed with the handling of my tenancy by this agency. Following repeated reports of serious issues within the property — including suspected damp, mould, and inadequate ventilation — I have received no meaningful resolution, no transparency, and no accountability. A formal damp survey was carried out on 31 March, yet the findings have not been disclosed or made available to me. Instead, communication has been inconsistent, dismissive, and at times contradictory. On multiple occasions, I have raised concerns regarding blocked ventilation points within a Grade II listed building, possible structural defects, and the resulting impact on indoor air quality. These concerns have not been addressed in any adequate or timely manner since I moved in in December 2025 (evidence reported within the check-in!). In the meantime, I have experienced respiratory symptoms requiring medical attention, adding a serious dimension to what is already a concerning situation, but of course so far, indeed, they have tried to fault me in any possible way saying "you don't open the window enough"! Particularly troubling is the apparent lack of understanding of legal responsibilities in relation to tenant protection — especially in cases involving vulnerability. I have a recognised disability, and the way this matter has been handled does not reflect an appropriate standard of care or awareness. Recent correspondence has referenced a desire to reach an “amicable resolution.” However, this has not been supported by any concrete actions, clear timelines, or acknowledgment of the issues raised. The matter has now been formally escalated, and a Council inspection is scheduled. I will rely on the already gathered evidence and appropriate authorities to assess both the condition of the property and the conduct of the agency. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise prospective tenants to proceed with caution. This review will be updated following the outcome of the Council inspection.

I found the sales team to be hard to engage with and dismissive in relation to viewing the property, this also included mixed messages with timelines and expectations around sale price.. However once an offer was accepted the sales progression team were outstanding, Theresa in particular became our main point of contact and handled any problems quickly and professionally, whilst always remaining approachable and friendly. we cant thank her enough for the time and support she provided with keeping the sale on track.

Getting viewings is a rarity and the ones we have had booked don’t go through, don’t know what the team actually do but the whole experience has been so disheartening should of used a different estate agent.

The biggest compliment would be around the communication which was always very proactive from the whole team throughout the viewing and progression process. Using a group messaging function meant that I could easily ask questions and answer any questions from prospective buyers. I felt kept in the loop at all times. I would certainly use again in the future and recommend to friends.
