30th Jul 2026 (5 days ago)I would highly recommend Straffords. From start to finish, the service we received was excellent. Luke was incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. He was always available to answer any questions and kept us updated every step of the way. Even while he was on holiday, he still took the time to respond, which really showed his commitment and professionalism. Leon was also fantastic and always responded quickly to any emails or queries we had. The whole process of letting our property was made so much easier thanks to their knowledge, communication and support. Straffords did a fantastic job marketing the property, with brilliant photography and a Rightmove listing that really showcased it well. They helped us find a suitable tenant and guided us through the process smoothly from beginning to end. Even now, we know we can get in touch with them if we need any help or advice, which gives great peace of mind. Thank you, Luke, Leon and the team at Straffords, for all your hard work. We really appreciate everything you have done and would happily recommend you to anyone looking for a professional and reliable letting agent.
7th Nov 2024 (1 year ago)No. Just no. Constant trespassing on property by teens, old enough to know better, have led us to complain - to no avail.l, so must go civil, apparently. They wait until we are not home, throwing balls at house, or playing on our patio, uninvited and while we are out, until one of them gets hurt on our owned property, we are left responsible. Countless emails to this agent, and videos. Was asked by police if I wanted to file a formal report and said no, thinking this agent would be reasonable as in, how would he like it if this were happening to him? A decision I regret, but now see this is harassment of us, as two older women living together, alone, perhaps, to regard us with interpreted LGBT discrimination? Or probably seen as vulnerable? Not sure which…because I cannot understand why an agent wouldn’t want to ensure the peace and safety of surrounding properties, and their owners. Makes no sense. Also, These are Not children - teens, old enough to know better. Tried speaking, kindly, to one of the mothers of these kids only to be sworn at for all neighbourhood to hear. Sent to agent - nothing. Rules for freehold property ownership not being upheld, and intimidation and harassment of two older women living alone.

1st Feb 2026 (6 mo. ago)Our property wasn’t sold, we went modern auction method which is extremely confusing to clients and potential buyers . It looks as though we dropped the price majorly however the buyer has to pay the high auction fee which throws them out of the bidding as cannot afford the costs

20th Apr 2026 (15 weeks ago)I've not had a great experience with these people. One lady telling me I've said things i haven't and it wouldn't hurt if she smiled a bit. Also have repeatedly asked for my holding deposit back as promised but they keep making empty promises.

19th May 2025 (1 year ago)Thomas Connelly have been good trying to sell our house. They have been polite and courteous when reaching out, and they have tried different things to push the sale. I would have really liked more feedback and more of a push from there end to get creative in the sale space but I feel the experience overall is a positive one.

He was always available to answer any questions I had, kept me updated throughout, and provided so much support every step of the way. He was also incredibly proactive, always staying on top of everything and making sure the process kept moving smoothly. The conveyancers Ivor recommended were amazing as well, making the whole experience as smooth as possible. I’m so glad I had such a positive experience from start to finish, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Lafford James to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.

Valuation was absolutely on the money, they knew their people who were looking to buy and what was important to them they matched a family with our property and they bought it and love the house. We did not even need to advertise. They worked so hard to keep everyone in the chain updated, we never had to chase them as they always kept us notified. I would recommend to anyone wanting to sell or buy. Brilliant experience.

10th May 2022 (4 years ago)1st Choice a friendly family run business always maintained excellent communication which I really liked, if I had any problem weekday, weekend, or on a holiday, Kelly would reply back to my messages for support very quickly and same day. When I moved in to the property it was fully refurbished to an excellent standard. One time during winter I had a problem with my boiler with no heating for a few days. I made one call to 1st Choice and Mark dropped off some electric heaters, untill we got it fixed through Mear's. Anyone looking for property to rent then I would definatley recommend 1st Choice.

Do not use if you value your property's safety or expect basic professional service We used the Connells Newport Pagnell branch to sell our home, and it was a terrible experience. Before you sign the contract, they will promise you the world, claiming they have a huge list of eager buyers lined up. The moment you sign, it is complete radio silence. They didn’t even bother to visit the property to create the listing properly. You quickly realise that the onus is entirely on *you* to sell the property, not them. Whenever we had to chase them for an update, their default excuse for the lack of progress was claiming the "house is not clean"—without ever specifying what actually needed cleaning. This was an insulting and completely bogus excuse, considering the house was completely vacant and we were regularly commuting from Aylesbury, balancing full-time jobs and a young family, to keep it in pristine condition. However, the most severe issue was their blatant breach of security and legal protocols. Weeks prior to the legal completion of the sale, Connells handed over our keys to the buyer and their contractors, allowing them **unaccompanied and unauthorized access** to our property on multiple occasions. We were never notified or asked for consent; we only found out because our vigilant neighbors told us. To arrive and find new stains in the house because the agent illegally allowed people in was devastating. Their negligence not only breached the TPO Code of Practice but put us at immense risk of invalidating our insurance. When we raised this severe security breach, the branch was entirely dismissive. They operate with a shocking air of entitlement, constantly reminding us they are the "biggest estate agent," as if basic legal safeguards don't apply to them. They brushed off this massive failure as a "minor service issue" and offered an insulting £100 "goodwill gesture," which we firmly rejected. They expect sellers to pay their hefty fees and follow every rule to the letter, but casually waive the law when it suits them or their buyers. This branch cannot be trusted with your keys, your listing, or your legal rights. We have formally escalated this matter to The Property Ombudsman (TPO). Avoid at all costs.
