   You definitely get what you pay for, and the help and support I received from Matt, Nicola and the team in Thame was excellent. I chose them because of the help I had received in the previous year or so, answering emails, providing a valuation (for free) - and they did not let me down. They were the only shining light in a difficult and horrible process. Selling a house is a really stressful process; doing it because the owner has dementia and cannot live alone is infinitely more stressful and difficult.    We recently viewed a property in Southmoor which we really loved, fully aware it required a significant amount of work. We initially offered £378,000, and Graham contacted us to push £380,000, suggesting we increase our offer to secure the property. Reluctantly, we agreed as we didn’t want to lose it. Given the age of the property (1960s), we arranged a survey, which highlighted several issues. As a result, we submitted a revised offer to reflect the additional work required. Around the same time, we revisited the property and noticed that three fence panels were down, including one on our side. When I raised this with Graham, his response was dismissive, describing it as “only cosmetic,” which felt inappropriate given the rising cost of materials and repairs. Throughout the process, Graham’s attitude came across as dismissive and, at times, rude. Communication lacked professionalism, and we often felt our concerns were being minimised. We later received an email stating that the beneficiary’s husband, who is apparently a builder of 45 years, had dismissed the issues raised in the survey. This response felt unconstructive and contradictory, particularly as relatively minor issues like the fencing had not been addressed. Overall, the process raised multiple red flags, both in terms of communication and transparency. Unfortunately, our experience has been negative, and we would not feel confident dealing with this estate agent again and I would recommend other people to be aware of them.... Read more

   I recently viewed a property I was very interested in and made it clear I wanted to put in an offer and in a chain-free position. Despite this, the agent sold to a buyer involved in a chain. When I asked whether it would have been better for their vendor to receive multiple offers, I was told “of course we will take two sales over one.” When that sale later fell through and the property came back to market, I was contacted to view again. Unfortunately, the exact same situation occurred again. I was apprehensive to move forward given the previous time and again, whilst in discussion with the agent, not given a fair opportunity to put in an offer, while the agent managed to reconnect the chain. I understand that the market is difficult, but prioritising an internal double-deal over the vendor’s best interests feels deeply underhand. If I were the seller, I would be furious to learn this was happening. On a separate note, I was taken aback by the line of questioning I received during the viewing. Being quizzed about my age and affordability, along with comments like I “only look about 15”, came across as unprofessional and demeaning. It left me feeling uncomfortable and put me off wanting to view further properties with this agent.... Read more

    I was really pleased with the level of service I received from Chris. We initially had our property on with another agency in Banbury, and we didn't feel as though it was being pushed properly. We would get a different agent at every viewing, so they were never really able to get to know the quirks and selling points our property and the activity level was pretty low. After a few months we switched to F&C. Although it was more expensive, we chose Chris firstly because of his level of understanding of our type of home and the local area. Also, we were impressed with how proactive he was, even before we signed up. Not long into partnering, we were getting viewings left, right and centre. Chris managed to sell our house quickly and we were out of there within three weeks of accepting an offer! Very happy and would recommend!... Read more

    they lied and charged us for all the marketing material then never used it. we got ZERO enquirers or viewings for over 4 months- then found the online information was WRONG. stating the home is a decade older (i bought it NEW) and worth over £1 million LESS. they refuted to change it, then after we terminated the contract they refuse to rerun the photos we paid for. we spent thousands of pounds and hundreds of hours prepping the house for photos, and paid over £2,000 in total for them....     The first meeting I had was with Catherine to introduce Savills of Banbury to me and to value the property, then everything was pasted over to Francesca Moss. Francesca was so efficient and helpful and very uplifting. We laughed a great deal which made the whole experience of selling and buying no where near as stressful as it can be.     If I could give 0 stars, I would.<br><br>I bought a house a few months ago through Bridges, and my experience has been extremely disappointing.<br><br>My main issue was with Jo Rosser, who was the person I was dealing with throughout the process.<br><br>I originally made an offer on the property, and Jo personally told me that my offer had been accepted. A few days later, while I was on holiday, I received an email saying that the property was actually going ahead at the original asking price. As you can imagine, I was extremely stressed, upset and completely gobsmacked.<br><br>When I questioned what had happened and explained that something clearly wasn't right, Jo told me that my offer had been put forward to the seller and that the seller had rejected it. I was then told that I had subsequently counter-offered the original asking price.<br><br>I was absolutely gobsmacked.<br><br>I had been told by Jo that my offer had been accepted, and I had never made a counter-offer. I was also never told that my offer had been rejected. To then be told afterwards that this was supposedly what had happened was incredibly upsetting. Especially when it did not!!!<br><br>What made things even worse was the way I felt I was spoken to and made to feel responsible for the situation. Jo brought up several viewings that had supposedly been cancelled and other issues, which I felt were completely irrelevant to the fact that I had been told my offer was accepted, yet I was later given a completely different account of what had happened - if it even did?!<br><br>I felt that I was being made to feel like I was the problem, rather than receiving a clear explanation and accountability for what had happened from their end.<br><br>I have since spoken to a number of people and other estate agents and have heard similar complaints about Jo's manner and the way she has spoken to people. I can only speak from my own experience, but unfortunately my experience was enough to make me completely lose trust in Bridges.<br><br>Ultimately, I ended up losing £10,000 as a result of this situation.<br><br>I have told many of my family and friends about what happened, and I personally will never buy or sell a property through Bridges again.<br><br>And if you are a seller considering using Bridges, I would seriously ask yourself: what if this happened to you, or to one of your family members or friends? Would you be happy knowing that the same thing could potentially happen to them?<br><br>Buying or selling a home is a huge financial decision, and you should be able to trust the estate agent representing you to communicate offers properly and treat you with professionalism, honesty and respect.<br><br>Unfortunately, I did not feel that was the case here, and I would not recommend Bridges based on my experience....
