Angela Lessani at Chancellors, Headington is an exceptionally good estate agent. Her professional approach combined knowledge of the market with an understanding of how to progress at every stage most effectively.
Completely unacceptable and negligent level of customer service was afforded to us upon providing our administration fee. Enquiries are often me with belligerent responses which place the burden of responsibility entirely on the customer which renders their role in the process to being completely pointless. Should never have given them a penny.
When we arrived in Oxford in search of a property to let for the fall, we did not know our way around town yet and were completely unfamiliar with the local housing market. Benjamin Stevens, our lettings manager, was incredibly kind and efficient throughout the process. He was knowledgeable about each of the properties and answered all our questions, communicated effectively with his team, coordinated viewings and paperwork smoothly, and overall made us feel at ease at every step. We are grateful for his highly professional service and warmly recommend this branch of Chancellors.
The day after the 2016 EU referendum, these guys called my muslim neighbour and asked, "are you looking to sell your house, in light of recent events?"
At best: tactless. At worst: discriminatory and profiteering.
Its been a complete joy to work with Samuel Bishop at the East Oxford Branch of Chancellors. I came into the office with very specific requirements regarding the kind of property I was looking for and he has delivered on point! His manner, enthusiasm and commitment to finding me the right house has been fantastic.
I have written a very good review before, when I'd just rented a flat with this agency (and the reason they have so many good reviews is that they ask for them). They indeed have a good choice of properties to rent.
However, after I have informed Chancellors I need to move elsewhere because my work is being recolated (and gave 2 months notice), the agency has become a nightmare to deal with... it's been more than 3 weeks since I have moved out and they are still not letting me know when they will return the deposit!
Note - the flat was left perfectly clean - I've hired professional cleaners, and even the check-out agent confirmed that it's in a much better state than it was before (they did not bother to clean it properly before I moved in - for example, the oven was very dirty and smelly - but I had it cleaned before leaving).
They did not provide any proper reason for such delay, and basically fail to respond at all, providing only vague answers "we'll respond next week" or "you can call the landlord yourself".
I also asked several times to inform me if there's any remaining amount to pay (as my tenancy started on the 9th day of the month, and ended on the 13th), but they did not send any information about it.
There were also other issues that were not solved and it seems they will not getting solved at all... there was a leak in the property that did not get fixed and I ended up receiving very high water bills (about £200 for 7 months). There were 2 unarranged visits in the flat while I was at work (although these could also be by the landlord, not the agency).
It's seems I'll have to go to small claims court to get my money back, as it's a very hight amount and I have no intents of losing it, after having spent so much on the agency fees and professional cleaning.
At the same time I remembered to fix my review, as I don't want to be misleading other people.
Avoid using Andrews letting if you can. Even with pestering their customer service is slow at best. For example it took me over three months and multiple international follow up calls to get my deposit back. If you're not interested in that sort of thing I recommend you use any one of the many other Oxford agencies.
Don't use Andrews if you can avoid it. My Experience is that they are disorganised, unhelpful and it can take months to sort out something which could be done in days. I found this both when entering and leaving my tenancy.
I continue to be really impressed with the professionalism and positive way in which my tenancy is handled. Chloe and Lydia are exceptional. An absolute pleasure to communicate with them, and a significant asset to the Scott Frazer team. Thoroughly recommended.
Really dropped the ball!
Had the property on the market with Scott Frase Headington for 7 months had very few viewings. Poorly advised on pricing, lack of engagement and communication with 3 different agents over that period. No continuity.
EXPECT TO SELL PROPERTY BY DOING BARE MINIMUM IN A BUYERS MARKET, THIS IS WHEN YOU REALLY EARN YOUR FEE BY DOING SOME WORK.
Terrible. Worst agency ever. They are keeping on hold my deposit as they could not be bothered to ask the new tenant of my previous flat his deposit. And guess what? If your toilet gets broken they will accuse you for that and leave with no toilet service twice in a year.
