15th Feb 2022 (2 years ago)Very bad experience: They could not provide me a single suggestion in almost one month despite the fact that I was ready to pay up to £1250. Although, they put me under great stress and made me believe that I can’t get any house below £1200 and can’t get less than 2 bedroom for family with a baby. It is because of them I did not search for less than 2 bedroom property for a long, assuming I can’t get that, which was incorrect. Every time, I called them they said it is not in their area and they will send my details to other office. Once, I spent around 4-5 hours to fill a form to apply for a property whose result they never shared with me. I expressed my interest to view many properties but mostly I did not get a response because they already had many applications for that property. Feedback for the agent to improve: 1.First, be transparent and responsive to the customers. If there are many applications for some property then convey that to the customers instead of keeping quite. Reply each email/call. 2.You have multiple offices in Oxford and you have advantage so use that to help the customers and not for torturing them. There is no communication (at least customer oriented) between your different branches. Your people just pass responsibility to other branches. For example, I called several times to show interest in some property then I was told that that property is not in their area. First, they should help the customers instead of passing on the things. Secondly, give the customer options available with you (customer might get interested in property available with you) instead of getting rid of them.

He was highly professional and assisted us throughout the entire process, ensuring the successful completion of the sale. We couldn't recommend him highly enough. Thank you!- 20th Sep 2024 (5 weeks ago)Chancellors will overcharge you on rent, and not return your deposit. We’ve been trying for months to retrieve a rent overpayment, and despite dozens of reminders and threats of legal action nothing has happened. Our deposit has not been returned after the end of tenancy, despite the return being agreed and the legal window to return the deposit having lapsed. The lack of professionalism is breathtaking.

She has an excellent skill in negotiating and understanding customer needs. Furthermore, her patience in sorting out the practical challenges and problem-solving ability helped the success of her business. Apart from that she was very keen on maintaining the legal requirements of the organization while providing exceptional customer service. She was very clear in her communication, and we felt safe while facing unexpected challenges. They especially helped us out through a few tricky bits of our sale and managed things even whilst we were overseas. We would definitely use them again to buy or sell a property.

Francis has been fantastic, providing excellent advice throughout the process and securing a very good price for the house despite a challenging market. His communication and speed at getting things done has been outstanding and he was invaluable in brokering negotiations with the seller. Elizabeth has also been brilliant. We bought our house with Knight and Knoxley as the agent and they worked tirelessly to keep the process moving and fix issues that occurred throughout the chain. Couldn't have asked for a better estate agent!- 2nd Oct 2024 (20 days ago)I wish I could give 0 star here. They were communicating me and the potential landlord in a wrong way, which jeopardized the rental agreement. Then, no one took the responsibility and impute everything as my fault, not returning my down payment.
18th Mar 2024 (7 mo. ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
