23rd May 2019 (7 years ago)Lived in property of which Devonshire estate agents were who we came to instead of landlord for help. Would not recommend to anyone. Very quick to take money for fees and rent but that’s all. Complained for months and nothing ever got resolved. Very unhappy with their service

30th Sep 2024 (2 years ago)I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT SELLING A BUSINESS through them. They are dis-honest crooks using their small print to screw people. It's very clear from what they say and how they say it- that they do this to people all the time. During the dispute, every email comes back with a copy of the contract - with a cocky tone reinforcing their position, Whilst avoiding answering questions.
Also, value your business yourself. They paint business of a similar nature with the same brush, without any regard for its added value. Like selling a car with lots of extras, low mileage and only 1 owner, for the same price as a car in much worse condition but with the same year of registration.
They value it for a quick sale, but if your business is like mine, you can't build it for the price they want to sell it for - so where is the reward for goodwill?
Take my advice and Market the business yourself, you will not regret it. I received a lot of solid leads from my adverts and Gilbert & Rose hadn't even arranged 1 solid lead in the same time period.
You will be faced with some time wasters, but it's nothing a 5min call with them won't flag up, especially before wasting time on in-person meetings.
If you sign up to any agency, make sure you pay the multi-agency fee in advance, and get a lawyer to read the contract. DON'T Risk sole agency, and don't believe them if they tell you that you can switch. That's what Gilbert & Rose have done to me. Pushed me into signing quickly, and assuring me I could switch. They then sat back and did nothing, and when i got pro-active, they want a piece of the cake.
After notifying them I found someone thats shown interest - they notified me that if the deal goes through, they want their FULL commission, (for doing nothing!), even when I could prove without doubt that the lead could never have been generated from their advert.
I'm now forced not to do a deal and I have to wait for them to find a buyer in 3 months, which will be a miracle if it happens, or wait for their contract to expire and re-market myself at an additional cost.
Read online reviews and blogs about using business agents, they are not regulated and there are numerous complaints on how they have screwed over hard working people.

26th Sep 2025 (1 year ago)You definitely get what you pay for, and the help and support I received from Matt, Nicola and the team in Thame was excellent. I chose them because of the help I had received in the previous year or so, answering emails, providing a valuation (for free) - and they did not let me down. They were the only shining light in a difficult and horrible process. Selling a house is a really stressful process; doing it because the owner has dementia and cannot live alone is infinitely more stressful and difficult. The Fisher German team did whatever they could to make it bearable. Thank you Matt, Nicola and the rest of the team

Active visits site allowed all parties to track the success or otherwise of the buyers visiting our house and double check for any issues they may have wanted to highlight.
Happy to report this agent is very good at answering the phone and getting back with answers to any query they couldn't answer promptly. Our reps were Robert and Peter. They have progressed our sale very well.

I am extremely disappointed and disgusted by the way we were treated by Goldex Property Management in Gillingham. This has been one of the most unpleasant and humiliating experiences we have ever had when dealing with a letting agency.
We were genuinely interested in renting a property and were ready to proceed with the necessary arrangements. However, instead of being treated with fairness, honesty and professionalism, we were left feeling completely disrespected and humiliated.
We were given the strong impression that the agency had already decided which tenant they preferred and was attempting to persuade the landlord to choose that person.
We wasted our valuable time and energy dealing with this agency, only to be left feeling deeply disappointed and insulted.
I would strongly advise anyone considering renting through Goldex Property Management in Gillingham to be extremely cautious. Based on our experience, I have absolutely no confidence in their professionalism, fairness or the way they treat prospective tenants.

He set up a Whatsapp group to keep communication clear and smooth, answered all of our questions promptly, and guided us through everything we needed to know. We were so happy with how he supported us every step of the way and highly recommend him!
