22nd May 2026 (22 days ago)Extremely disappointing experience with Slater Hogg & Howison Falkirk. My pregnant girlfriend and I viewed a rental property with them while preparing to start our family together. The property was lovely and the letting agent initially seemed very helpful and professional. We were told our application had been successful and that the next step was to pay £300 upfront towards the deposit to secure the property, with keys due to be collected the following Wednesday. Two days later, I received a call informing me that the landlord was no longer proceeding because Slater Hogg would not offer them a rent insurance product due to us being a young couple with limited credit history. Despite having stable circumstances, this apparently made us “too risky.” Naturally, we were devastated. We had already told family members, started purchasing furniture and white goods, and spent money preparing for the move only to have it pulled away at the last minute. To make matters worse, we were told the £300 refund would be processed shortly, yet days later we were still waiting. This directly impacted our ability to secure another property we had found. I even offered alternatives, including paying 3–5 months’ rent upfront and providing an extremely reliable guarantor, but was simply told “no.” I’m not even convinced these options were properly presented to the landlord. The whole experience felt incredibly unfair, dismissive, and profit-driven. As someone who works within the property investment industry myself, I find this level of service and treatment completely unacceptable. I would not trust this company to manage investments or handle tenants fairly.

I was kept update to date with all interest in our property, and they provided advice and recommendations without prompting. Homes for You are thoroughly professional and I would recommend without hesitation.

30th May 2026 (14 days ago)Slater Hogg and Howison have managed all properties in our portfolio for a couple of years now and they’ve been brilliant. Lisa and the team are always on hand any time we’ve needed them and they’ve been really proactive in dealing with any issues that have came up. Our portfolio is quite spread out, so without SHH we would be struggling to keep on top of it. They allow us to be very hands off which is vital for us Would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a letting agent! Thanks again!

She has been extremely helpful, attentive, and proactive throughout the process. It doesn't happen often that, after a viewing, you actually receive answers to the questions you ask. India not only got back to me promptly with all the information I needed, but also went out of her way to make the search for the right property easier whilst brilliantly keeping me updated on the progress. With her outstanding attitude, professionalism, and a word that can be trusted, I see a very bright future ahead of her. What a wonderful experience. I would wholeheartedly recommend both India and Allen & Harris to anyone looking to buy or sell a property.
24th Mar 2026 (12 weeks ago)Buyers and Sellers - Avoid! Based on my recent experiences as a prospective buyer, I would strongly advise both buyers and especially sellers to avoid using Clyde Properties. I attempted to arrange viewings with them on two separate occasions, and both interactions were consistently disappointing. Despite advertising “appointment only” viewings, they offered only open viewings. At the first property, it was clear that many attendees believed they had private appointments. The agent on site took no interest in the viewing, offered no information about the property, and repeatedly responded with “refer to the home report” to even basic questions. They appeared unfamiliar with the property and disengaged throughout. A second attempt to view another property was just as frustrating. Although the listing went live early in the week, the only viewings offered were during working hours on Friday and Monday. Despite requesting an alternative time well before the closing date, they made no effort to arrange one. Having sold a home through a different agency, the contrast in service quality was stark. Clyde Properties showed little willingness to work with buyers, and based on many other reviews I have since read, this seems to be a common complaint. For sellers, this lack of engagement is particularly concerning; an agency uninterested in supporting buyers will inevitably impact interest and offers. With so many other agencies offering far better service, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Personally, I will avoid properties listed with Clyde in the future, and it appears many others feel the same.- 19th May 2026 (25 days ago)Absolutely delighted with the buying and selling advice and help from the very professional staff at Clyde Stirling and Falkirk. As I don't live in the area, I rely heavily on their ability to resolve any issues that arise, and I've been very pleased with how they have done so.

8th Oct 2025 (8 mo. ago)Horrible company since after covid. Used to be so polite and understanding and willing to meet tenants half way. Now they just want profits and are all for the landlords. Emails are sent in a patronising and rude tone. It used to be if there was an issue it was sorted asap but now everything takes forever. Thankfully I won't have to as I bought a property but I'd never rent through them again and I'd never recommend them.

From the outset, communication was prompt, clear, and consistent, and we were kept well informed throughout the entire process. They were always at hand by phone and email. The local office very useful to be able to pop in when needed. Our first meeting with Lyndsay was for the valuation. It was far more than just putting a price on the property, she took the time to understand our needs and provided thoughtful, informed advice about the process ahead. Her approach struck a balance between profession and a personal touch. Elaine was equally helpful, always quick to respond and offer reassurance when needed. With young children and pets, coordinating viewings could have been challenging, but the team made it easy. They worked with us to create a schedule that suited our routines and always provided plenty of notice. The photos and floorplan were handled by a professional photographer who did an excellent job with both the photography and floorplan. We were very pleased with how the property was presented. Communication was one of the standout aspects of the experience. We received regular updates on viewings, and all materials were reviewed with us first. The team were considerate in choosing how to communicate, using email when appropriate and picking up the phone when needed. They liaised efficiently with all parties involved and helped ensure a smooth process. Most importantly, we felt genuinely supported by a team that listened, guided us thoughtfully, and remained fully engaged from start to finish. No impersonal web portal, just real people, ready to help. The house sold quickly, and we couldn’t be happier with the way NEST handled the sale.

All staff were so helpful and ensured I secured plenty viewings and a good price on property. Staff were amazing and so efficient, special thanks to Eileen, Aileen and Lynn. Would highly recommend using this firm to deal with any legal matters as they provide a professional, friendly and efficient service
13th Jun 2026 (0 days ago)Extremely poor service for both buyers and sellers. The areas West Homes operate in are currently very buoyant, but that does not remove the need to carry out the basic duties of an estate agent: actively promoting properties to buyers, maintaining contact with interested purchasers, following up after viewings, and arranging viewing appointments that suit prospective buyers. I have bought and sold property over the last 30 years and understand how the process works. In December 2025, I made an offer over Home Report value on a property marketed by West Homes. My offer was unsuccessful, which was absolutely fine. However, despite discussing my property search requirements with the team, I was never contacted again. When I later queried why I was not receiving details of new properties, I was told my marketing preferences would be updated and that I would receive notifications of suitable listings. Despite this, over the following three months I did not receive a single email or phone call regarding any new properties. Every viewing I arranged was initiated by me. On Monday, 8th June at 09:47, I called regarding a property that had been marketed since 29 May and requested a viewing as soon as possible. The earliest appointment available was two days later, Wednesday 10th June at 15:30. I was also advised that no appointments outside office hours were available other than a Saturday slot six days later. I attended the viewing alone because I was keen to see the property quickly. I have previously viewed three properties marketed by West Homes without my husband being able to attend, solely because of the limited availability of appointments outside normal office hours. In a fast-moving market, waiting up to six days for a Saturday viewing can place buyers at a significant disadvantage. I liked the house and called the following day to arrange a second viewing so my husband could attend. Despite multiple attempts to contact the office, it took five phone calls and around 40 minutes before anyone answered. The only appointment available was 15:00 on Friday, which I accepted. My husband arranged to leave work early in order to attend. Friday 12th June, on the morning of the second viewing, I received a call requesting feedback from my original viewing. I explained that I had already called and provided this feedback the previous day, and had a second viewing arranged. I was then asked to repeat the feedback because no notes had been recorded on the system. Once again, I explained how interested we were in the property and confirmed that my husband would be attending the viewing later that day. Friday at 13:46, I received a missed call. I returned the call at 14:07 and was informed that the viewing had been cancelled because the seller had accepted an offer. The seller is, of course, entirely entitled to accept any offer they wish. However, I found it disappointing that a viewing was cancelled less than 90 minutes before the appointment when prospective buyers were already travelling and had made arrangements to attend. My husband had left work three hours early specifically for this viewing. While I appreciate that properties sell quickly in the current market, my experience was of poor communication, inadequate follow-up, limited viewing availability, and a lack of organisation throughout the process. During my property search, I have viewed homes through several other estate agents. The difference in communication, responsiveness, viewing availability and buyer engagement has been stark. Other agents have proactively contacted me about suitable properties, followed up promptly after viewings and made genuine efforts to accommodate viewing requests. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here. As a buyer, I was left feeling that interested purchasers were not being actively managed. As a seller, I would question whether every genuinely interested buyer was being given a fair opportunity to view the property, remain engaged in the process, and submit an offer before a sale was agreed.
