After listing a property with Martin Flashman, who had tied me into a 6-MONTH contract, I found it to be a very disappointing service. After 2-months on the market they got me an offer of £200k. I told them that was so insulting that it didn't deserve a reply, and when I spoke to Martin Flashman to ask why they would encourage such a low offer, his reply was that I can go and list it with someone else if I want to, but he has a 6-month contract and if I sell it through someone else, I'll be paying 2 estate agents fees. I waited for that contract to expire before I sold the house in Feb, 2010 through Gascoigne & Pees and they found me a buyer who met the full asking price of £250k within 2-weeks!
I had bought through Martin Flashman before and I generally value the idea of dealing with small businesses because I appreciate being able to speak directly to the boss. However, these are not the sort of folks I'd advise selling through, not if you want either a fair price, or a timely transaction. I can only speak for myself, but I will never sell through MF again, and I can't say I found Mr Flashman to be the sort of person I'd want to be dealing with ever again.

A horrible experience with Sherrie Edwards, really stuck up, looked down her nose at my girlfriend as soon as she said something, didn't get back to our emails when she felt there wasn't a sale to be had and on the viewing the tenant did all the talking for her as doing her job was clearly too much of an effort. Never again ! Terrible person !

From the listing to selling process, Marcel and his team have always been transparent with not only us but the buyers as well, guiding us through the process on best practices.
They've never tried to devalue nor inflate anything for the sake of it.
From floor plans and photography, to the level of local and market knowledge, customer service and patience they've demonstrated, we simply won't use any other firm in the area.
I would like to warn others that if you have a property to sell, this is certainly not the place to go. I lost the best 4-months of the year to this company. They made all sorts of promises about how they'd market my property and how quickly they'd sell it, and it was only after shaking hands with Marcel Roccia and signing a contract that I found out just how poor a company this is.
Marcel and his staff are exactly the sort of people who give Estate Agents a bad name. I believe they took two weeks before we had a first viewing, and thereafter they brought someone over to have a look every 3-4 weeks but failed to attract a single offer. Ok, there was one "offer" but it was about a hundred thousand pounds below the asking price and the agent who called to tell me about it apologised for it even before he gave me the number. I told him not to worry and that I'd continue to be patient but when weeks turn into months, I tried to reason with Marcel that if they weren't capable of selling it they should let me at least get another agent in. I even offered to pay him a commission even if another agent succeeded in finding me a buyer but Marcel's reply was to ask what another agent would do that he couldn't.
The answer to that question is a little too obvious.
I emailed them 3-times so as to put into writing my intention to go to another agent at the end of the 4-month contract, but every email was ignored and their staff, although smiling and polite in their tone, the words were only ever condescending and Marcel did not have the courage to speak to me again after the first time I told him I felt disappointed at their efforts to sell my property. That was after 3 or 4 viewings in the first 2-months and he promised he would feature the listing and get new photos taken. This turned out to be an empty promise. Their efforts to sell my property were equally hollow, and I'm delighted to be able to say it's now listed with Gascoigne & Pees. When G&P heard that Rochills make you sign a 4-month contract they were horrified and told me it's normally a 6-week sale contract, as in, they should only have 6-weeks to agree a sale, then obviously, the completion date can be after but so long as a sale is agreed in 6-weeks, that's fair enough.
I have been buying and selling properties, only 3-4 per year, for about the last 20-years and while I admit I've had some bad experiences with estate agents in the past, I've never before found a company like Rochills where I cannot say one good word about them. I found them to be very fake, condescending and without any class. That's from top to bottom. I'd like to warn anyone to just ask around for a personal reference about Rochills before taking them at their word.
They specialise in lettings, but won't hesitate to tie you into a 4-month contract if you're too quick to buy into their marketing. Sadly, buyers aren't so foolish and consequently, you might well be wasting your time. If you've any doubts, check their sales out on Zoopla. Oh, wait, no, they don't advertise there. Where they do actually advertise I've not been able to work out yet but, as I say, it's no longer my problem.
Please don't make it yours.
We decided to market our house both for sale and to rent due to moving abroad. Having tried with another agency locally first, we came to Curchods and felt very reassured from the beginning with the professional advice and process. The big one for us was communication about viewings and feedback, which was very prompt and useful. We successfully let our house to a high-calibre tenant and would highly recommend Curchods both on the sales and lettings side.
After getting off to a decidedly shaky start, with what can only be described as two of the worst estate agent chains I have ever encountered, I stumbled into Curchods and was greeted by Jake Wood. He listened attentively to my lengthy property wish list, and from that moment on he tailored the viewings accordingly to ensure that he didn't waste anyone's time. Not long after, whilst the jokers in the pack were adopting a total scattergun approach to selling houses, we found a property which ticked all of our boxes. It hasn't been plain sailing, far from it, but Jake has kept us updated throughout and held the chain together, which has been no mean feat. Having now exchanged and due to complete in the next 2 weeks, I am so thankful that I walked into Curchods and allowed them to manage the search for us. Thank you Curchods and thank you Jake!
Leaders have always been very good with any help we have needed in our rented property. Any problems and queries are always dealt with very quickly. The Contractors they use are very good too. Natasha always very helpful
Leaders Lettings Dept when you are a new tenant appear on the surface to be good in terms of arranging viewings, starting a tenancy and moving in. However, this is a ploy to extract whatever they can from you in fees and charges. Once you are a tenant their customer service disappears, they are rude, unprofessional and unhelpful. When your tenancy ends Leaders will try every possible underhanded method of extracting yet more in their overpriced and unnecessary fees and delaying the return of a substantial deposit. All of this is coupled with their atrocious service. Avoid at all costs - there is an abundance of better estate agents in Walton on Thames and the surrounding area.
I have worked with Andrew Davies for a number of years. He is always striving to improve his agency and looking for new ways to help Vendors achieve the highest net price for their biggest tax free asset as well as helping Ladlords maximise their investment. Highly recommend.
