21st Jul 2024 (1 year ago)Awful experience, they listed a house which I later found out the owner wasn't even ready to sell, the agent in charge of the sale told me the seller was after asking price so I matched this and got all of my paperwork ready for her but after doing so she was constantly making excuses and taking excessive time to respond to anything regarding moving forward with the sale. She initially told me the property in question was rented out at the moment and the tenants were already re housed pending a sale, later I found out this was untrue as she admitted the tenants have not been re housed yet and I have not heard from her since, (Its been over 2 months), not even a sorry for wasting my time or even an explanation as to what happened. To this day the house in question is still listed for sale on their site. If you guys don't want your time wasted then I'd recommend you stay away from this company and look for a property elsewhere.

They maintain communication throughout a lengthy process, repeatedly checking the sale progress with both the buyer and seller. They respond rapidly and positively to all requests. They are professional while being friendly. I strongly recommend them.

They are interested only in their commission proven by their dealing with landowners who have the most terrible reputations & previous track records. The conclusion, to this company you are simply a number on a spreadsheet as opposed to a human being. They simply do not care.

Nothing was too much trouble and a great deal of 'hand holding' was necessary as this was the first time I had done this. Alison took great care to keep me informed at every stage and was available whenever needed, with no question too surreal. She even carefully re-homed my gander! I would call that above and beyond. No hesitation in recommending Alison & team at Character & Country who made a very difficult effort so much easier than it might have been. 12 out of 10.
