Myself and my partner were new to Chippenham and looking to rent a property. Lucy helped us find a lovely home, which we are now in.
However the process to get us moved in was not made stress free. The contract for the house was not given to us until 2 days before the proposed (not yet confirmed!) move in date. Considering we were both moving our lives and jobs to a new area we needed more notice of contract and earlier confirmation of a move in date, we did not feel this was appreciated by the agency. We moved on 5th of the month and when we understandably asked for more information in the week leading up to ‘move in date’, that we had not yet received we were told that they had only just finished the previous month of tenants and that we had to wait. For us this was unprofessional, stressful and not considerate of our moving process.

She was amazing she went above and beyond for me and partner as we was all packed and ready to move we had a few problems during it but she didn’t let that stop her in her stride in getting us in our first rented home together.

Hi, my partner and I were in such a hurry to get our new place sorted that I think it was our second viewing that we applied on the spot with the lovely Lucy who with no hesitation answered all the questions I had and any advice going into a new tenancy being our first time she was right there to guide us through every step back an forth to get us moved in asap witch only took about a week from the viewing date witch was perfect for us.

We cannot recommend our mortgage advisor, Anthony enough. He was absolutely flawless from start to finish. We had a particularly stressful time with moving which was out of our control, (2 years long!) and he had our back throughout the entire process, offering professional advice and positivity along the way. I have once again let my property in Chippenham through Allen & Harris (Chippenham Branch) and, yet again, what an excellent experience it was working with them. I mainly dealt with Brittany and Lucy, who initially came out and viewed the property and advised on amount of rent and work required to bring the property up to that standard. They arranged for contractors to attend the property to complete the suggested tasks. They quickly found prospective tenants and discussed them with me to help to choose the new tenants for my property. They kept me in the loop through references etc... and were always available for discussions and to provide sound advice. I found the whole team extremely professional and courteous throughout. I will definitely use them again when the need arises!

The team at Chippenham were so helpful during our recent home purchase through them. Michelle Hallas communicated effectively with us and ensured that communication with the buyer was used effectively to keep the sale process moving. Callum was patient when we needed time to talk and think when visiting our new home to be. He answered questions effectively and took queries away getting them answered for us. Callum was happy to book in tradesmen for a visit to the sale property for us to obtain quotes as we progressed through the sale. With a renting resident also in situ, Callum also liaised with them to ensure access was managed positively. He had a super sunny and friendly disposition too when showing us around. I can't begin to express my appreciation for the personal and professional service that the staff in the Chippenham office have provided.
I was in the unenviable position of being in the middle of life's five biggest stressors including divorce and (consequently) needing to find somewhere to live, fast, within a tight budget and in a central location. I had been around the letting agencies in town to register, but due to my status as having been previously bankrupt I was met with short shrift, disinterest and dismissiveness. Not so at Allen and Harris.
I was positively welcomed by Matthew Hooper, the Lettings Manager who not only quickly got me 'on the books' but actively offered solutions to my wish list. Almost overnight Jessica Burnell, Lettings Negotiator was on the case. Each time I popped into the office there was always someone on hand, from the Senior Branch Manager to the Sales team willing and happy to help if either of these two were out on business.
In short, within a couple of weeks I had the keys to my new home and was extremely happy.
I am not sure whether or not vetting and contracting with good landlords is a feature of their service but a review would not be complete without a mention of mine...super caring, fast acting and not in the least bit superior.
Thank you all involved. I hope I prove to be a model tenant for some time to come.

Michelle and Callum went way beyond what is expected of estate agents; first class excellent service all round. I live in Australia now and rented out my house in Chippenham for over a decade. Unfortunately the tenants left the house in a bit of a mess and my property managers (the spectacularly atrocious Chappel & Matthews) did nothing to assist, despite it being their job and what they were paid to do. The wonderful Michelle and resourceful Callum came to the rescue and arranged for repairs, cleaning and preparation for the new owners). A really friendly team of people that know how to sell houses. Allen and Harris are useless. I have waited a week to get a call back on a property we really wanted to buy. I left loads of voice messages, left messages with colleagues, emailed about the property trough their website and NEVER got a response. So I went into their office today - they denied I had ever called or emailed and the property we wanted to buy was sold STC. I stormed out in disgust.

We were in a panic as our offer had been accepted on our first home but unfortunately our original broker was on annual leave. After a few phone calls to the offices we were gifted with Anthony Codner who explained absolutely every part of the process to us in such a simple way that really put us at ease. Anthony is friendly, approachable and so knowledgeable it’s incredible, every question I had (and there were a lot!) was answered promptly, politely and informatively. Our purchase was not straight forward and Anthony went above and beyond pulling out all stops and keeping us up to date every step of the way. We are so fortunate to have had Anthony lead us on this journey and really take the stress away from it all.

We used Allen and Harris’ mortgage brokering and the experience has been fantastic. Anthony Codner was assigned to us and has been brilliant all the way through the process, making it far less stressful than it was when we applied for a mortgage last time. He laid everything out in a super simple way so we could decide the best options for us, including doing all the maths (which I personally very much appreciated). He also acted as a go-between to get answers from our mortgage company without waiting for hours in a phone queue and getting passed around different departments. I would have paid the money just for this aspect of the service. Anthony was super responsive and always got back to us very quickly with thorough answers to our queries. I've used Allen & Harris (Calne) twice before when I purchased and sold my 1st property so I was delighted when a house that was perfect for me came up with the Chippenham branch as I already knew them to be a good company and my expectations were high. I was not to be disappointed.
Everyone I dealt with within the team was excellent, from Matt the mortgage advisor, who was extremely accomodating with my busy work schedule and constant questioning, to Charlotte who handled many of my calls and constant queries as well as several viewings, never once getting frustrated with me despite my pedantic-ness.
Then there's Damian. Damian went above and beyond the call of duty to help me get through an incredibly difficult sale, helping with things from solicitors who caused constant delays to being a mediator between myself and seller, always remaining neutral as a good estate agent always should, especially when dealing with an incredibly awkward (me) customer. Without him the sale would have likely never happened and he's a credit to his company for the hard work he constantly put in.
Overall I couldn't have been happier with their services and would recommend them time and time again, and should I ever sell the property I will be choosing them to do so for me. Keep up the good work guys!

We wanted the keys to our new flat before we allowed viewings to start in our current property so it allowed us a safe space during covid pandemic to feel safer, my girlfriend is also 9 months pregnant and due to give birth and we explained to the estate agent she refused to comprise told us she had 50 people waiting and needed an hour to show them all round, so with my pregnant girlfriend who is Also disabled meaning she is high risk and if she contracts the virus it's worse for her than an average adult her age, the estate agent wanted to show 50 people around my house while I have a heavily pregnant woman in the building. When I said this we was told by her then in a very rude and confrontational way that covid isn't an issue most people have had second jabs she needs to get in so she can do her job. She had been given no instruction to be doing this or pushing herself into our home while a pandemic is still ongoing, not happy atall with the service and this was in office in front of the rest of the staff so seems nobody had issues with this happening, checked on gov website and says we should have been offered choice of video viewing but nope she wanted ppl viewing and her pocket filled for the commission, why worry about a woman's baby and health when I can make money seemed her attitude.

We used Allen and Harris to let our property. The office is very pleasant, if you can get hold of them. They suggest you take a no deposit scheme, which we did. Due to corona our tenants left before their official term had ended. They had completely trashed the place; broken furniture, half painted walls, skirting painted using emulsion paint, pulled
the tiles off the wall in the kitchen. Sequence offered us (after waiting 14 days for a check out. £150 for damages. they told us to go and get a quote for the repairs when we queried this, it took us 3 weeks to get the quote as they wanted it itemised. When we got the quote back they said they'd closed the case as the 28 day deadline was passed for claiming!! They never even informed us there was a deadline!!! The cost to have the house repaired was £5000!!! Thanks Sequence & Allen and Harris... nice doing business with you, we will be taking the matter further.

I have recently let a property through Allen and Harris and I can say that they're service was first class, especially during these times. Matt, the letting manager, was very helpful every time I spoke with him, answering my queries and never rushed me even if he was the only one working in the branch. I was really pleased with how quickly Allen & Harris managed to sell our home, especially with the market being quite difficult at the moment, Kate & Ben did the viewings on my house and were really good, giving us feedback as soon as they could, I had weekly updates, Kate is the manager, and she even decided to make my property Managers Choice, which I was totally overwhelmed by. Damien was really friendly and easy to talk to and did an amazing job on my property details and my property even made an appearance on their Instagram page. Anthony the mortgage advisor did our mortgage, we could have gone directly to our bank but, Anthony took all the hassle away and did it all for us which meant we did not need to worry that we had done something wrong! Our mortgage offer for our next property was out within the week, which was great as our own bank could not see us for two weeks!
