Failed to inform me and my partner that the place we looking at, and subsequently ended up, renting was also up for sale. We only found out just under two weeks after moving in when the sales department called us up to arrange a viewing.
Dishonest and disingenuous. Clearly an agent who works on commission as we obviously would not have taken the property if we had known there was a chance it could be sold so soon after moving in.

Prior to letting, the communication was good and viewing time from requesting was quick. Since moving into the property, responses to emails and requests have been poor. The property itself was left in an absolute mess even though I was assured prior to moving in it would be all sorted. Maintenance work agreed prior to moving in was not what I was told, and has been a massive disruption throughout.

We've been really happy so far! George (and David) have been in touch enough but not too much (no pestering), both down to earth and friendly and we haven't felt pressured at all.
We had to impose a bit of a pause while we sort out the buying part as it took longer than expected to find a new property, but George and David have been fine with waiting and gave us the space needed. There has been no pressure from them at all. As soon as we were ready to go again everything has happened nice and speedy and smoothly. COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME. ZERO STARS. Tied in to a one sided 20 week contract (in their favour) & very little interest from buyers or A & H. Total apathy, they are not the local company we all once knew & loved, in our case for over fifty (yes 50) years & used happily in the past to buy & sell property several times. They are part of a national company called SEQUENCE.
Phone calls not acted upon or promised call backs not made, false statements ('we have people queuing up to buy houses like yours'). Make sure you negotiate the length of your contract & selling commission percentage if you are brave enough to use them.
They are toying with people's dreams & don't seem to give a toss. Neither did their sister company in Weymouth where we are moving to but that's a story for another review.

Unbelievable service from start to finish with the both the sale and purchase. Allen & Harris managed to find a buyer at asking price in a tough market before the property had even hit the market. Dave Sheridan was brilliant throughout, constantly chasing solicitors and updating us (often out of hours too!). Big shout out to Tyler for being very informative and professional with viewings and finally Jamie Stringer too for his work during the process, giving great advice and being extremely proactive with responses. Very disappointed with my experience with this agent. Arranged to view a rental property in Farringdon. The first agent I spoke with over the phone was great, she was very helpful in arranging a date and time and follow up communication to confirm was spot on.
On the day I dealt with a different agent who was very unprofessional. Firstly he was not there on time. He eventually arrived 15min late as the next person was also arriving for their viewing, no apologies or explanation given. While I was waiting I called the office twice and was told each time that he should be there and they’d message him. As I was about to leave to attend another viewing in the area his car pulled up.
As the agent was late, I had very little time to view the property. To make matters worse, the agent had clearly not properly arranged access to the property for the viewing. The occupants were in, completely unaware that there would be viewings that day, and in the middle of packing their belongings ahead of their move. This meant that there was limited access to the flat, and it was difficult to judge it as a potential tenant.
And once inside the property the agent seemed to be more of a shadow than anything useful. Nothing was said to try and showcase the good features of the property or about anything really. I asked a couple of questions and the occupants answered these rather than the agent. I also asked about the application process, the agent gave scant details and has not followed up with any useful information via email, text, phone call or business card as I have experienced through other ‘professional’ letting agencies.
Before attending the viewing this was one of my favourite properties, and the property itself may be fine, but my brief experience with such an unprofessional person has tainted my view of this letting agent. It may be that this is a one off occurrence and maybe they do have other ‘professional’ staff, but this experience has put me off dealing with this company.
To sum up: disorganised, unpunctual, poorly informed and completely unprofessional Avoid!!!

I've given Allen & Harris three stars as although they did sell the house, at times the communication fell short of what I would expect, for example we had five weeks of no viewings and no contact from AH until I rang them.
Once sold the lady handling that part was very good, although there were times she was unable to help, when needed she always stepped in to help resolve issues.

Absolutely dreadful estate agent, if they can be called an estate agent. They seem to just show people round who are bored and fancy an afternoon snooping around. Have had 3, and counting, branch managers already in 2020 which provides zero continuity. Avoid like the plague

I can only say this team are the full works I came in on the off chance to register loosly looking for my first rental I sat with Abby who took her time with me and showed me two properties later that day she suggested I returned to the office to speak with amber who will help find me a Tennant and Jamie who can search for a mortgage I did both these things and everybody have been very helpful and professional

Absolutely catastrophic. Incredibly poor disorganised service I recommend you avoid at all costs.
When things go wrong and it costs you a lot of money the inexperienced staff you are able to contact can't do anything, the remote bosses are impossible to contact and hide behind their staff.
You will have the feeling of friendly attention, but you are with the worst of the "Estate Agent" brigade - stay well clear.

Being a first time Landlord I was quite nervous about the whole process. I went into branch on a Saturday afternoon and was greeted by two very happy and smiley young ladies. They both took all the time I needed and offered me endless amounts of tea. I was relieved to find out that Allen&Harris have everything I needed under one roof. Abby found me a property with in two weeks and Amy found me a tenant very shortly after. Very impressed thank you all for making it as easy as possible.

It was really refreshing to find an estate agent with all the services I needed under one roof. I have been looking for a buy to let since January and most agents shrugged me off because I am so fussy. I am pleased to share that Abi really took her time to find me the right home and show me lots of options - she took me back to the office where I sat with Jamie the mortgage consultant who was wonderful and showed me options I never thought of! I then moved over to the letting side and sat with Amber who once again was lovely! - after 2 hours I had started the ball rolling on my purchase, my let and my mortgage. I spoke to Abi from Allen and Harris in Swindon, she was incredibly helpful and patient with me. I was able to speak Abi about a few properties I was looking at buying. Abi arranged viewings for me and told me about the mortgage broker in branch who could help me assess my finances. I spoke with Jamie who was brilliant. He was professional but also extremely easy to talk to. All in all both Abi and Jamie were extremely helpful, patient and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. Had the worst experience ever! The staff were discourteous and very unprofessional. The complaints procedure lacked integrity and have biased opinions on matter that require more than just reviewing paperwork as evidence. I am pretty certain most people who work in this branch are only there to earn a living and hardly care about the rest!

Jenny has been totally outstanding she is just lovely friendly and makes you feel very comfortable taking to her,
Jenny always gives us feedback on the viewings and what is really lovely she always asks my mum if she is ok when she does the viewing as she knows my mum feels upset having people view her home she is an outstanding lady and Allen and Harris are very lucky having her on they're team,
Also everyone else are great but Jenny we deal with most often and we really like her as she is a ray of sunshine

I didn't really have the best experience with the company in terms of there employees, there a few number of staff who are not customer friendly, which disappoints the business, the management side of the organisation staff members are rude, this made me go to another company and use there services, we wasn't rude and didn't say any profanity vocabulary. I would suggest not to relay on the management side of the business.

Allen&Harris have definitely changed my opinion of high street estate agents.. I thought taking the cheap route of an online agent was a good idea - I couldn’t have been more wrong! I have to be honest I gave in to allowing the manager Brendan out to see me after weekly calls from his team asking how I was getting on with my search and if they could anything to help - Brendan came out and it’s safe to say he has true beliefe in his sales team, three days after seeing Brendan viewings had started leading to an over asking price offer! Thank you to Brendan and his sales team for all your help - anyone who is reading this thinking they are over priced let me tell you they are so worth it!!

Alex came out to my home and did a great job in explaining how to maximise the exposure of my home - We then had a few viewing's in the week carried out by Abigail & Reece who both were very polite and easy to talk to. So glad I went with an agent where I could walk into the office be greeted by a smile and get what ever help I needed! We have sold our home with Allen and Harris. Having predominantly dealt with Brendan, Jerome and Tom, we have been delighted by the overall experience. A traditional Estate Agent such as these are always going to be a little more expensive than the online equivalent but suffice to say, our investment has more than paid for itself.
We had to sell quickly so as to avoid being disappointed by our new home being sold to somebody else. Brendan realised the urgency straight away and before photos were even taken of our property, the listing was ready on the website.
Everything was taken care of expertly, even the way our children were ‘entertained’ when we had to go into the office and couldn’t arrange childcare. Nothing was too much trouble.
I’d most definitely recommend Allen and Harris to anybody looking for a reliable, professional service. The guys mentioned above have gone above and beyond from the start to sort the sale for us - the result being... We have just bought our dream home.

Allen&Harris did a great job at securing the best buyer for me - Alex came out to se me and was very professional followed by an open house completed by Abi. I was advised my house was worth £190000 but after an very good open day we achieved £198000! The team recommended I went in to store to sit down with Jamie to complete a cost of moving - so glad i did this as he managed to save me £1000's a year by switching lenders! All in all a great job getting the best buyer and saving me money on my onwards purchase - Thank you!

Allen and Harris are fine at first (Employee who came was really nice and reassured us) however didn't appreciate how they don't deal with everything after in house. Any issues have to be resolved by an externally (Sequence). Sequence had disregarded myself several times and had made no effort to help myself with issues dealing with the tenants. Tenants were ok some what however expect a long wait for them. However will say one individual made the process after all this, a small percentage better (from sequence).

Jermone has been amazing, went above and beyond to fit 2 viewings in on one day and made an extra effort to do a viewing after his office hours to suit our hectic lifestyle!
He has kept us up to date and I am sure he will continue to do so during the remained of our purchase.
I would reccomend him, he has put a very nervous first time buyer at instant ease!!
Brendan has also been fantastic and made our negotiate a quick and realistic process!

Abi and Jerome managed to keep updated with currently property details and make sure we got our foot through the door before we lost out - on registering I was informed to go and see Jamie or Tom the mortgage advisors to get register on the "head start" I was very reluctant after seeing my bank I thought I was settled and getting the best deal I genuinely can't believe how much money the boys managed to save me.
