I have recently just completed a sale on my late Grand mothers house. After having 3 valuations back in the summer, i decided to appoint Shane Bray at Bourne, i felt his evaluation of the property was fair (not the highest), his fee was fair ( not the cheapest) and most of all i felt i could trust him and his team. After a busy successful launch day on the property, the team found me a choice of buyers, and the sale went through with the teams constant progression early November. The Poperty Management Team are marvellous. Karen was my first property manager contact who provided down to earth advice, responded to queries quickly and gave a seamless handover to Tallulah. Tallulah managed some tricky situations with difficult people seamlessly, was prompt to react to anything that needed attention and kept me up to date with ongoing maintenance, with great attention to detail. As a bonus she was always a cheery voice on the end of the phone, making sure to highlight the positives in any situation. David proactively kept in touch with us whilst we prepared our property for sale, visiting and valuing and providing sensible terms quickly, with no bluff or bluster often experienced with other agents in the town. I have only good words to say about Bourne across its branches but particularly here in Godalming.
I have had a relationship with the office since I bought a property for investment from them back in 2021. It has since also been let by Bourne on my behalf. On both occasions they found me top rated tenants at the highest possible market rent before the property had even finished renovation and been marketed online!
I have been lucky enough to experience this seamless process again this month with my 3rd Bourne tenancy in Godalming, this time in a different property.
I must commend Sam Mathew, Head of Lettings, for his professional, personable and efficient service. Nothing is ever too much trouble and he is always friendly and at the end of the 'phone / email with answers to my queries in super fast time!
As an investor and landlord this has been particularly valuable to me for 2 reasons:
(1) Sam (and the sales team) are always on hand to give me valuations and advise regarding property that I am looking to purchase even if it is marketed with another Agent. This help my research requirements enormously.
(2) As a self managing landlord I have learnt the value of having a good Agent in support. I recently had an unusual and potentially expensive situation with a prospective tenant who was found to be wholly unsuitable only hours before the contract became binding. Sam shielded me from the unpleasant repercussions and dealt with the extra-ordinary situation in the most calm and professional manner. I was relieved not to have had to deal personally with a situation that would inevitably have become litigious . It was only Sam's fast, decisive action that averted a much more difficult scenario.
Finally I must mention both Shane Bray and David Lowther in the sales department. I am delighted to have built a strong relationship across both sales and lettings in the Bourne office. Their local knowledge, transparency, initiative and professional approach encourages me to continue investing in the area long term.

I had a let which they extended without telling me for a further two and a half months. Upon challenging them they told me they’d negotiated with the landlord to only extend me for six weeks. There was no signature or evidence and they clearly made a mistake but it was only after threatening to take them to court that they admitted they’d made a mistake. The letting team are a disgrace and my advice would be to pick anyone else

I have dealt with quite a lot of letting agents and I have to say that Bourne Estate Agents come top of the list so far. They are a real breath of fresh air in this industry and their professionalism and friendliness are top class.

Gareth gave a very impressive sales pitch, explaining how they would market my maisonette. It left me in no doubt they'd be able to sell it and get me the best price for it.
My only criticism is that several mistakes were made in the publicity leaflet, and I had to have them corrected several times. I think attention to detail should be improved.

I've worked professionally with Bourne across a number branches for some time now, both as an investor and a landlord.
I have bought and let property with two offices. Godalming recently found me an A* tenant months before the property was ready to let and Farnham secured a me another excellent tenancy earlier this year, achieving over asking price.
I have always found Bourne's approach far more personable and open than most other agents. Everyone I have encountered is happy to give their time and advise, even if it has nothing to do with a property they are selling or letting. This willingness to help extends to areas that Bourne do not normally operate in.
A special mention to Sarah, Sam & Betty in the Godalming office as well as Jenna and Hannah in Farnham and David in Guildford.
I can thoroughly recommend Bourne which ever office you work with!

The entire did an incredible job, selling our home in just one weekend, and provided fantastic levels of support during the sale process.
Sarah and Phoebe are incredibly responsive and helpful, and kept us regularly updated without being overbearing or contacting us too frequently.
Bourne Estate Agents also provided great advice in getting our home ready for sale, with great tips on what we could do to make our home attractive to potential buyers.

I have always considered first impressions of paramount importance when entering into an agreement for the first time, irrespective of the business.
My first impression of Bourne,Godalming is one of professionalism. My first meeting is with Sarah, the branch manager. We exchanged some details of the property regarding proposed values etc. I arranged to meet Sarah the following week to view and photograph the property. There are some personal challenges ( on our part )which had to be dealt with very carefully. Sarah took all the relevant details and confirmed possible sale prices?
A few days later the property is up for sale. Putting the property up for sale is the relatively easy part. The weeks following when the enquiries start are equally important.
Sarah and her team excel at this point. Their professional approach dealing with possible clients is excellent. We are not local to the area so arrangements had to be made well in advance. Once again Bourne meet all the criteria for customer service.
The prospective buyer places their offer. Bourne kept us advised at all stages of the proposed sale up to the agreed sale price.
Marketing is important when dealing with clients. Bourne's local knowledge of the market is a key factor in the sale but also in obtaining a very acceptable selling price.
It gives me considerable pleasure to write this review about Bourne's highly professional standards and their excellent customer service.
Sarah and her team deserve the credit this review portrays.

We recently used Phoebe Howells of Bourne’s in Godalming to sell our property.
We had changed from our initial agents and how refreshing it was to work with Phoebe on the sale of our home. She listened carefully to our brief, understood the viewing process we required, came up with innovative and creative ideas to market our property, brought viewings only from qualified applicants and provided quick and useful feedback from each of those viewings. Phoebe understood our needs, is very personable and most importantly brought in an initial offer within three weeks. What I also liked is that she did not pressurise us into accepting the offer but fully explained the pros and cons and left us to decide, which was unlike the experience we had had with our previous agents.
Phoebe is clearly very good at her job and I would have no hesitation in recommending her as an extremely competent estate agent and a lovely person to work with on the sale of a home.

Bourne agents door stepped my elderly parents, who are currently selling their home, on an number of occasions. Belittling their current agents and selling their services. My parents politely explained they were happy with current agents and not interesting in moving. Despite this the agent visited another twice and then signed them up anyway without their knowledge. This has caused upset and distress to me parents. Still waiting to hear back from the jokers at Bourne. Shocking sales technic and will be ensuring this story is spread to warn others. Bourne, stop door stepping and distressing the elderly selling their home, it's stressful enough process.

We cannot thank Bournes in Godalming enough for their recent work on our house sale and purchase. From the outset we were aware that they are a young team who are extremely web-savvy and eager to succeed. They clearly knew exactly how to market our property at from the word go moved at a pace that as refreshing as it was unexpected. As a result we sold far sooner than we had ever imagined. Beyond that Harry, Alex and Saskia (and others I´m sure) couldn´t have been more helpful, working tirelessly to keep things on track through some difficult moments. At times, when we were tearing our hair out, a quick call to Harry would reassure us that all was well. This was truly invaluable.

After a seemingly endless house-hunting quest we have finally found and moved into the house of our dreams, and I’m very happy to say that this is due to the great work of Harry Hitch and Alex Beagrie from the Godalming branch.
It’s obvious that these guys love their job and have brilliant skills in dealing with multiple parties. Since day one they’ve been a great support both practically and psychologically.
As we all know, the ideal home finding process can get rather unnerving at times, yet Harry and Alex have always been there for us with their friendly, calm and optimistic approach to things, which was worth gold to us throughout the whole journey.
We fully recommend this particular team, if you are looking for a new home or need to sell yours. They seem to know exactly what one wants and are able to turn the often arduous process into an actual adventure at which one looks back with happy and often fun memories.

Can’t recommend these guys enough - they are friendly, professional, tenacious and generally a really lovely bunch of people to have worked with to sell our house. Also, they ACTUALLY LISTEN and seek to understand your requirements for your next house purchase and I found the properties they were sending me to consider were relevant. After two years of trying to sell our house through other agents, Bourne were able to take on our property and sell it within a few weeks. Most of this was down to the hard work of Alex Beagrie and Harry Hitch. Not only do they put in the extra work, but both are incredibly amiable, keeping the lines of communication open at all times, and making the whole process a pleasant experience.
