The worst experience of renting we have ever had with a complete lack of duty of care shown towards us from Bourne.
Terrible communication, disregard to our wellbeing and allowed a disgraceful landlord to treat us in the most awful way.
A few examples: Bourne liaised our move in terms that were quite simple - professional clean and working blinds. When we arrived on move in day the property was filthy. Disgusting toilets, mould in the fridge, 30+ personal items left behinds from the landlord (property was meant to be unfinished) and an oven so thick with grime it was unusable. And of course no blinds worked.
Bourne allowed this landlord to handover this property to us in these conditions and furthermore did not hold them to account - we were simply told to “leave it in the same condition we found it in” with not even an apology. Not very helpful and incredibly stressful for us. It then took weeks of us contacting Bourne to get some of these issues sorted with us having to plead to have these basic things.
Upon moving out the landlord then attempted to charge US for cleaning (along with other insane charges). Again, Bourne allowed this awful landlord to even ask us for this.
We chased Bourne repeatedly for updates regarding our deposit, it took in total 4 weeks for it to be returned with several ignored emails - going as long as 12 days to get a response. Again, a complete lack of care shown towards us - to not even acknowledge the stress we were under and having to fight and explain why we should be receiving our deposit back.
Another example: At one point during the tenancy the washing machine broke. It took 3 weeks for a replacement during a time we had a newborn baby. We were the ones having to chase for an update. Bourne allowed this to happen.
A truly shocking experience. At no point did Bourne show us any compassion for how awful this landlord has been. If the landlord is going to behave that way then that is out of Bourne’s hands, what is in their hands is showing common decency and compassion… none of which has ever been showed to us.

Adrian from Bourne Estate Agents was very relaxed in his initial sales approach, never applying any undue pressure. His unique insight shone through when he suggested subtle adjustments to enhance the appeal of our home – something none of the other agents even considered.
Jo effortlessly conveyed the details of the parking covenant to potential buyers. This was a great relief, as our previous agents' struggles to understand and communicate it effectively.
Bourne's proactive approach, including the creation of drone footage and responsive promotion, injected fresh interest into our property, which had languished on the market for six months with other agents.
Incredibly, our home sold within just three weeks, with an exchange completed in twelve. Throughout the process, Bourne, especially Rebecca, provided unwavering support. I often joked that Rebecca became my weekly therapist during moments of stress, as she was always there to reassure and guide us.
When issues arose with the buyer's agent, Bourne went above and beyond to ensure the chain remained intact, exceeding their contractual obligations in the process.
In contrast, the service provided by other agents fell far short. One agency had unreliable weekend staff who couldn't get the details right, while another was downright arrogant and dismissive.
Looking back, we regret not choosing Bourne from the start. Their exceptional service, particularly Rebecca's caring and empathetic approach, deserves special recognition. We can't thank them enough for making the selling process a breeze.

Patrick Fijalkowski of Bourne Estate Agents, Farnham is polite, fast, conscientious and professional.
Although I couldn’t conclude my home search through him (because I happened to come across a better house listed by another estate agent at about the same time by chance), I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy professional agent who communicates and follows up well with you before during and after viewing.
And one who wouldn’t bother to research and give me a detail technical breakdown of the costs and items of work involved in replacing the carpets by hardwood flooring for the viewed house.

Conmen. Ripped my mother off with the majority of her rental deposit, taking cash for historic marks and stains from before she even lived in the house.
This is a property which has not been touched since the 90s, other than a slapdash paint job. Carpets/curtains are old and skanky, kitchen was horrible, bathroom had no water pressure and suite was at least 30 years old. Wooden window frames and doors are rotten. Even charged for leaves on the grass, which are always an issue in that house because of the massive trees overhanging it from a neighbouring property. They would have to be picked up daily! Not forgetting it's Autumn of course.
My mum suffers with her mental health and doesn't have it in her to argue with them. I hope this review at least reaches one potential tenant and puts them off.

We’ve now been waiting for Bourne to release our deposit for almost three months. They’re staff are so eager to quit that you talk to a different person each time you call (who just started and has no idea what they’re doing). It’s a shame when we first let from them they seemed to have it together but it’s all gone downhill. Run, don’t walk away from a Bourne-listed property or you’ll regret ever interacting with them.

However, when the tenant fell ill and wanted to move out, Bourne expertly managed to satisfy both this tenant and us landlords by quickly finding another great tenant for us, at a better rate in keeping with the market changes. Bourne tried to charge us for professional cleaning at the end of tenancy, even though independent clerk's described the place as not needing that.
Bourne's employee was really persistent though, even after we have pointed out that this is an unfair clause and they have no right to demand that.
It was so repetitive and the employee would just write us the same thing over and over again.
On top of that, when we were moving into the rental property we were promised that work is going to be done on the bathroom and the kitchen - of course no work has been done in two years we have been there. Only the minimal, legally requires fixes.
When we moved in, we reported a problem via phone, we were told it's going to be looked into and fixed. Nothing happened, so we reported that again via email with pictures.
Nothing has been done about it for 2 years and then Bourne tried deducting from our deposit for tat problem. We had to prove to them that we have reported it, even though Bourne is the one that can't even track things like that.
It took 2 months of us chasing Bourne and pointing out that what they are doing is not exactly legal for them to pay us deposit back in full.
Overall it's an abysmal company for renters. Stay away if you can.

From the moment I first spoke to Adrian I felt at ease with his approach which was honest, enthusiastic and informed. Hayley put together a brochure which showcased our home in the best light and Jo did her homework so she could host well informed viewings. Her passion for our house alongside her warm demeanour resulted in many offers from the launch day so we could have our pick of buyers. Their local director turned up with my landlord and pretended to be a contractor (he was fooling no one in his business attire). We refused him entry as he did not provide his credentials I therefore complained to their owner. His response was that their director was put in an "awkward position, through no fault of his own."
As vulnerable tenants we find this completely unacceptable.

We rented with Bourne for 2 years and I simply have nothing good to say about them; they displayed a total lack of respect for us as tenants and were on occasion outright rude, and seemingly oblivious to their ineptitude. Reported issues, including a leak in the kitchen and resulting mould issue, were left unanswered and unresolved for months at a time and they fought back on almost everything. I hear good things about their sales department, but they're certainly not using the A-team for lettings...very poor customer service. Avoid.

To and throw with a lady called Karen Reynolds who actually told me she didnt really care. Boy was that the truth..Just nightmare from start to finish. They always favour the landlord so you have no chance getting a fair resolution to your dispute if you want any kind of reasonable portion of your deposit back...Use another agent !!

I would like to respond to Leisha Santorelli’s review which is incorrect and highly inflammatory. Leisha and Tom have been tenants of mine for a mere 7 weeks and already the damage to my property caused by them along with putting off prospective buyers has costs me thousands. The agents of the The Bourne agents have acted completely professionally and have protected me as their client by informing of the damage and have reported back to me when the tenants have actively spoken to prospective buyers with negative remarks. Regarding the comments re face masks I find this to be untrue and possibly projection as the tenants themselves haven’t even bothered to get dressed or open the curtains for viewers.

I found Bourne in Farnham to be very helpful when I was looking for somewhere to live and also provided me with details of their deposit free scheme which was good value compared to the scheme l was on with the previous Lettings agent when I ended up paying double what am being charged here.
The Bourne team was very helpful whenever I had any queries particularly the person who showed me around the property. She told me about the property in the first place as she knew I was looking . She has been helpful and informative and followed all the steps through from looking at the property to putting a deposit on it and filling in the forms etc. The day I moved in they provided me with a welcome pack of goodies which was so thoughtful.
I am happy in my new home and really pleased that I found such a lovely place with the help of the Lettings agent from Bourne. The administrator there was also very helpful and provided me with a hard copy of my tenancy report straight away when I requested it.

I used the Bourne Estate agents to sell my house recently. In this day and age buying and selling property seems to be a minefield, being much more complicated and bureaucratic than it was in 1991, when we last bought and sold a home. Estate agents generally have a bad press and many of them deserve it! I won't say that the process was entirely smooth, but when there were problems, Adam, and later Rob, smoothed the way and took much of the stress out of the process to the point where Adam now feels more like a family friend. Bourne have lots of invaluable local knowledge, a friendly approach and they are honest about what can and can't be achieved. I recommend them most highly.

4 Stars is given only in the purpose of improvements can always be made.
Having a buyers pack for any properties being sold that includes upfront, all relevant paperwork (EICR, Gas Safety etc.) is one such area of improvement.
Though when requested, these were quickly sourced and provided with clear deadlines and expectations set.
I couldn't fault the professionalism throughout the process and communication from Rebecca and the team.
They even managed to take the tenant in situ under their wing to help speed up the purchase.

This tricky procedure was so professionally handled by Adrian, Adam, Rob, Rebecca, Jo, and Hayley for us.
Hayley produced a terrific Brochure, which immediately encouraged very many viewings on day One, with instant offers too.
We saw Jo enduring many surveys out there in the chilly weather with a keenness to be admired.
Each of these experienced staff members were involved at some point, each one cut the Mustard, guided under Adrian’s very capable umbrella of leadership.
The complications encountered over many aspects that unexpectedly occurred, were handled brilliantly.
Any questions were promptly answered with a calm level of thought from Rebecca, who liased in a close and personal manner with us and our buyer throughout.
Rebecca’s interaction usually followed Rob Skuse, who answerer Bourne’s phone as quick as a flash, so rare, but never failing.

I’m sure many readers understand just how tricky it feels to try pick a good Estate Agent out of the blue, as we found with our own unpractised judgment in this new field. I was sleepless! as all 4 agent’s we invited, seemed very interested and so keen.
Again, as a testament to Adam and Adrian particularly, with their obvious skills in the property trade, it transpired that Bourne edged it, and won our confidence in them.
Mainly due to their enthusiastic initial response in seeing our unusually novel property, and giving us such clear advice and also keenly aimed business terms, much to our advantage.

We sold our property with Bourne and had excellent advice, great communication and regular updates from Rob at theFarnham office. We also had regular contact with the other members of the team who were well informed about the stage our sale was at, which was a great help if (on the rare occasions) Rob was not available.
We had had the property on the market with another agent, who had not had any success. The team at Bourne came in, took entirely new pictures and marketed the property in a different manner, highlighting not only the features we felt were important, but also available home office space for potential clients wanting to move out of the capital.
After the property had been on the market for three months and no offers, we went with Bourne and Rob secured a 1st time buyer for us (no chain) at the price we had previously discussed we were aiming for, within about a month.

Further to my previous review, I can now at least thank Bourne for taking over as managers of the property we started renting 6 months ago. Issues have been and are being addressed gradually. They are communicative and helpful (even if I can hear their audible dread when I get in touch!). I just wish they had managed the property from the beginning as it would have been a much more enjoyable start to the tenancy. I feel I can happily increase my review from 1 to 3 stars.
My experience of Bourne as a new tenant was not good. They were very presuasive when it came to viewing the property, selling it to us and achieving the let. They made lots of promises that the landlord would do things we asked for before we moved in. After this point, these promises sadly did not materialise - to the point where I was not sure the agents were talking about the same property. They blamed miscommunication, but I felt ignored a lot of the time. We had to do all the chasing and make all the calls to get things moving. Once we had signed all the documents electronically, we were left to our own devices. What we had been told by the agent, we were told very differently by the landlord. Of course none of the things that Bourne had said would be done before we moved in were actually done. It was a stressful and unhappy move.

Very disappointed from a reptutable company. They " found " us a buyer in november who apparently had cash to buy the property, 6 months after the offer still no completion on the property and looked like they never had the money in the first place. In my opinion not enough research was done into where the money was coming from and proof of funds. We then remarketed the house with Bourne and had very little interest and all of the chasing up following viewings had to be done by myself. Wasted 8 months of trying to sell with Bourne.

What a brilliant team.
We met Adam Pinfield back in March 2019 when he came to our Farnham house to discuss marketing our property. From the get go, I was really impressed with their market credentials and felt very confident after meeting Adam that this was the team for the job! Adam helped us to secure the house we wanted to buy locally for which we are very grateful. He was really informative and so professional throughout the negotiations.
We needed to sell our house in a challenging market (spring / summer 2019) and Adam got us under offer on the first day our house went onto the market. Sadly, our buyers fell through due to no fault of there’s or the team at the Bourne. The house went straight back onto the market and again it was under offer within a week with a second family with Adrian Cannon providing loads of fantastic support. This also did not work out due to a change in circumstance for this family. It was third time lucky and this time the lovely Lauren Girdleston managed to get our house swiftly back under offer within a week of it going back on the market. We then managed to exchange in less than four weeks. Impressive work Team Bourne! During this rollercoaster ride the Bourne managed to keep the whole chain moving forward and together. Thanks to Louise for pulling it all together at the end with the rest of the chain.
Thanks to Adrian as he supported us throughout the whole process and always gave us really helpful advice and support. Special thanks also to Rob Skuse who was helped during the five months from start to finish. Rob is great to work with – always positive, honest, helpful and professional. Big thanks to Adam for helping us to secure the house we are buying! I’d really recommend Adam to anyone who wants to get their Farnham property sold. He’s a fantastic negotiator and I think he could probably sell ice to eskimos! Finally, a big thanks to the lovely Lauren who was the calming voice of our final sale. She’s such a delight to deal with and keeps both the seller and buyer happy!

After trying so many agents with very poor service even the largest in the area proved to live up to the stereotyped estate agents image, we gave these guys a shot. They proved to ge worth it, we had basically all but gave up with poor service elsewhere however Bournes completely turned things around and achieved what the cowboys could not, good qualified viewings and ultimately our buyer. They were ok, but not any better than any other estate agent.
We had to really drive the whole process, we felt they were a bit slow, not that efficient with their admin and we seemed to be dealing with about 3 different agents which was confusing.
On the positive they were enthusiastic and helpful over the phone, perhaps they just need to improve their process.

I can not fault the service I received from Josiah. He was so accommodating when we had trouble getting to the viewing and gave us all the information we needed and more. I will 100% be using his branch when we start up our property search again in the future.

Back in 2009 we first used Bourne to put our starter home on the market. At the time they were a new business, Stuart (Owner) came to view our property and his professionalism, knowledge and friendly approach made our decision easy. Since then we have not looked at another firm. Having sold additional properties with the help of Stuart and Adam - Sales Director (Bourne Farnham) and also having gone down the rental route using Bourne Lettings (also Farnham) with the help of Matthew Pelford - Lettings Director. Their service is flawless both sales and rentals, and they’re good people too.

Having never rented a property from a letting agent before only private landlords, Josiah from Bourne estate agents made the whole process from viewing the property to all the vetting paperwork straight forward and I am getting the keys to my new property within a week of my 1st viewing.
I Can't recommend Josiah and Bourne enough !

With an offer proceeding on our house and almost a million quid to spend, we'd have thought at least a few of Farnham's estate agents might be interested. Truth is, only Bourne showed more than a raised eyebrow - and Rob made it his mission to find us something. He did a great job finding us options and eventually the right house, after really taking time to understand our needs. Once selected Haley flew into action - my goodness, she is a force of nature, pulling together what ended up being a chain of seven, chasing everything through fastidiously and energetically, with real-time updates. Even though we weren't Bourne's clients, we felt thoroughly supported throughout the process. Buying a house is the most stressful thing we've done - I'm so glad we had Bourne on our side.

Over the last few years Bourne has improved massively due to new employment. I am currently letting my property with them and have had next to no issues with the company, when there has been a few bumps the team have dealt with them professionally and quickly. The lettings team is exceptional and I would recommend anyone who is thinking about letting in the area to do so through Bourne. Josiah Lyon and Tom Martin have exceeded my expectations and I cannot thank them enough.

I wouldn't use this company ever again for either sales nor lettings. I had a series of very bad experiences for the circa 3 years within which I was contracted to and forced to interact with them. Even just seeing their company logo now brings back terrible memories which I'd rather forget about.

Bourne Estate Agents is one of the best sales & lettings agents I've ever come across...the staff are always welcoming, amazingly knowledgeable and helpful, I would highly recommend Bourne Estate Agents in Farnham when your looking for someone to manage your rented property or sell your home.

Not a good experience. Had been warned not to use them but went ahead regardless, swayed by the rates. Now regret that. Have dealt with lots of estate agents in the past so thought I knew what to expect and what could go wrong? The answer is lots!! They were very incompetent. Too much detail for this forum but suffice to say the whole experience was extremely frustrating. We recognise that some of this frustration was due to the awkward buyer. However, their negotiation skills are poor at best, and they added no value whatsoever to the process. In addition, the owner is patronizing and arrogant. Go elsewhere is my advice.

The worst estate agents I have ever come across. The sales person James is rude and arrogant... not someone we would EVER be looking to work with.
James left us outside a property for half an hour before we chased him and asked him if he was coming, without an apology he rudely told us the owners didn't want anymore bids and that to go home.
Terrible service, do not recommend working with these amateurs

A bunch of school kids in suits, well, maybe except the matrons they get to show people round (clueless). Lead by a man with a big ego, who writes the Bourne Estate Agents reviews especially for himself. You will find the odd honest one in there too.
If an estate agent has no manners, no protocol and no regard for it's customers, I think the buyers will work that out soon too. Result, they go elsewhere.
Best thing to do, in our opinion. Do not touch with a wooden pole.
