LANDLORDS **AVOID-AVOID-AVOID**
If I could give a zero rating I would. As a landlord using this company they do nothing to look after their landlords and only take interest in lining their pockets. They ignore any correspondence regarding anything that will effect their fees yet still continue to deduct the monies to them from the rent they collect, despite it not being due or earned to them. if you are a landlord AVOID

Guess what - no reply. Its a shame you are so quick to give the impression you care on your google reviews rather than reply to your customers and resolve the issue.

Chancellors - Surbiton was a great help to us finding a place to rent. My hat is off to Harry who helped arrange our initial viewing and navigate the rest of the application process, which was quite confusing as we had just moved to the area from abroad! He fielded all of our questions promptly and in the end was able to help get our offer finalized with the landlord. Kallee was also a great help with the paperwork. Overall we are quite pleased and grateful for the services Chancellors provided.

We happened to arrange the property vieiwing at chancellors and Gary helped us. I have never met such a dedicated person ever, on a Saturday evening he spent a lot of time in showing all the area and properties. He showed a lot of enthusiasms to go over the board and made sure we cover the area and dont have to make multiple visits. We have visited many agencies noone work on the weekends. We rented a property managed by Chancellors for 3 years. When we first agreed to rent they gave us a time to do the check in/inventory, we showed up on time and waited 45 min and no one showed up. Upon calling their office they said their representative had already been to the property earlier in the day, hours before the agreed upon time and did the inventory without us and we’d have to collect the keys from the office. The inventory was incorrect, it listed things that were not included in the property and we had to fight to have them taken off. Throughout renting they constantly called/emailed asking for information that we had emailed to them several times previously. We would forward the original emails to them again and they would promise they wouldn’t ask again, just for the process to repeat a month later. There seems to be very poor communication within the branch and emails are consistently not read / missed by the team entirely.

I visited the Surbiton office today to enquire about a flat let for my son. Gavin was not in the office but Holly contacted him straight away to see when he was returning, in order for me to register an interest in the property.
Holly was extremely accommodating, friendly but also efficient and professional.
The same can be said about Gavin, who returned to the office, welcomed me warmly, provided me with the information I needed and booked me in for a viewing. Brilliant. Thanks to both of you for making it work for me so quickly. Superb customer service !

Terrible.
We called to book in a viewing for property in Surbiton, my details were taken on the call and the time/date was confirmed. Drove 25 minutes to the viewing and there was no one there, we tried to call the office but were instead transferred to the customer service office who said they would try to get a message to the branch. We left after waiting for 30 minutes. An hour later they finally called us back to say that the property was no longer available.
Complete waste of time.

Unprofessional right from the start. Megan Dann, the lettings negotiator, looked bored and unintrested at the viewing. No communication afterwards, excepst for sending multiple virtual business cards for some unknown reason. At then end, just a rude email saying "Your offer was rejected x 2".

My partner and I recently moved house and Chancellor’s managed the whole thing. I don’t think I’ve ever been met with such efficiency from a letting agent before, and they followed all rules and guidelines regarding Covid-19 restrictions thoroughly, thus we felt safe throughout the whole process. We dealt primarily with Samuel Wilkie, who was very helpful and knowledgeable, and kept us informed without being invasive. We also received a lot of help from Morgan from the central office, who was also proactive in making sure we’d completed all necessary paperwork in good time. We feel confident in the agent’s ability to ensure that us, and the property, are well looked-after.

I hesitate to give 5 stars as it sounds too gushing - but here I have to as Samuel Wilkie went out of his way to hit his self set target to get a tenant into our property by the end of October.
There were some small hiccups along the way which Sam personally helped deal with which even included him taking time out during his holiday (much to my protest) to go to our flat and ensure an isolator fan was working (thankfully it was!).
It’s difficult to build trust over the phone and over phone calls- but given the times we live in it’s become a necessity. Sam has easily earned that trust from myself and my partner.

I ended up not renting through them but I had many viewings recently in Surbiton/ Kingston and so many agents are arrogant and not professional while Anna ( I believe) was lovely and friendly with us.
I would however advice to be more honest with your ads, if the garden is "officially" shared/communal, I would put that in the ad to save yours and tenants' time, instead of giving that information later by commenting " the other flat never uses it anyway".

Just came back from a 'viewing' of a property in Surbiton. Was supposed to meet an agent at 5:30 pm. 45 min later and noone turned up. Had a text to say that there is heavy traffic along the way and that the agent will be late and that was it. Walked away 45 min later as I was absolutely freezing and didn't have my car. Truly dissapointing experience.

An absolutely terrible company, please don't waste your time going with them. Shocking customer service, not delivered on anything they promised. Continually lied to us, only arranged viewings when they were told they were doing a rubbish job.....Which then seemed to cancel before the actual viewing date. We lost the property we wanted due to their lack of ability to sell or even recieve an offer on ours.
Verbally agreed a 12 week contract and then changed this when I came to signing to 22 weeks!!! Very misleading and unprofessional.
Very disappointing experience, they don't even deserve 1 star.
Trying to charge us for 'marketing' costs, which apparently aren't related to customer service?? Please.
Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs.

Terrible company. We lost a property we liked due to their incompetence and the reference company not doing their job properly. We are STILL owed money back from them (as of today’s date, 6/4/19) and when they say ‘’someone will call you back, they NEVER do!
Reference company report came back as my income "not earning", when in fact last year I earned well over £30,000, which I proved all 3 times they asked for my bank statements.
They also said that my fiancé had NOT declared about a CCJ he had. He DID declare it and we sent proof it had been satisfied. Also, we are disputing it anyway as we did not know about it until very recently. But they lie all the time, and I have read this on other reviews also.
Avoid like the plague. They are a headache and there are much better estate agents out there. If I could leave no stars, I would.

Well, where does one start? Firstly, if I could mark it down as zero stars or minus I would do, so I guess they have Google to thank on this instance. Anyway, myself and my partner were booked in to see Flat 11, Highcroft in Surbiton with Hannah Whitney on Wednesday 26th September 2019 at 5:30pm. I had called in advance to confirm that my partner was booked in to see the property and that we would be there at 5:30. I was expressly told by the representative that she would be there at that time to show us the property... so we had arrived there on time only to then have to wait around for almost an hour and a half with no sign of the agent. We thought, okay sometimes people are running late and to be fair there are on going roadworks in this area. We then called the estate agents who had advised that she "was on her way and that she was caught up in a bit of traffic" - this was at 5:35pm. Again, time passed so we thought let's put in another call yet again, this time we had gone through to the so called "head office" and they had mentioned that they would call her directly and also put a call through to her manager Ryan to see what was going on. Any guesses as to what happened next? We waited around again for a call back, nothing yet again. Pathetic. We put in a call once more at around 6:45 and again it went through to the "head office" who then had the audacity to tell us that she had actually been there for around 20 minutes waiting for us... sorry, given the fact that we actually live in the 21st century would not taking the number of clients and calling them to see where they are not be the logical thing to do? Also, correct me if I'm mistaken, how could someone that is "caught up in traffic" be the same person that has apparently waited around for 20 minutes before? I hope the landlord of this property has time to look at this review and actually put two and two together as to why their property is yet to be rented. Oh, and we were also apparently meant to be "contacted as a matter of urgency" the next day (being Thursday 27th September) by either Hannah herself or her manager Ryan but of course, absolutely nothing. Utter shocking handling of a customer's enquiry and in all honesty if it were my property under their management then it would be revoked with immediate effect. When you guys have a minute to read then this I think it would be nice to get a phonecall, just out of a thing called common courtesy.

Lying, bullying, general harassment and unprofessional behaviour seem to be Ryan Powers' method of estate agency. He called constantly, demanding answers to questions there is no way I would know and refusing to call any of the other professionals involved. My solicitor finally instructed me not to take any more of his calls and when she tried to speak to him, he hung up on her! He continually tried to frustrate the sale, which I believe is against the ethics of estate agency work and made my life a misery. Sadly this behaviour appears to be condoned by the company as the response to my complaints were that they were sorry for the inconvenience caused but it was done in my best interests! Everything that gives Estate Agents a bad name can be found here.

After what was a shaky start, Chancellors went over and above their call of duty to deliver an impeccable service. In what seems a cut throat world of estate agents, I always had to pinch myself at how personable and genuinely caring they were at aiding the completion of a sale - particularly at such a shaky economic time as this. Amin who handled the transaction was truly beyond honest and professional from start to finish. Not one word of negative feedback to give about him! I would use Chancellors again without a doubt and would recommend them highly to anyone looking for good quality service.

I chose Chancellors because Duncan, who valued my property, was open and honest about the chances of sale and value. The team at Surbiton including Ryan, were really good at getting viewings, passing on information and generally keeping me going when it looked like the market was slowing down.
Although my sale turned out to be a bit more protracted than expected, the Chancellors team were with me every step of the way. Particularly Karen at the Conveyancing Team offices who spoke to me virtually every day until exchange and completion.
I can't recommend Chancellors highly enough.

I just let my flat though chancellors, Ryan and Mark were very helpful and efficient though the entire process making the rental process run very professional and smoothly, they both would make sure i understood every process clearly before we would take action this gives me confidence when using these guys :) They also both demonstrated going out of their own way to help me out of hours, i wouldn't hesitate recommending these guys to anybody!

I am spending this few minutes writing a review because I believe its worth spending time to appreciate encourage and applaud good service when we experience it.
It is indeed good service personal caring and honest that we experienced when we telephoned Chancellors Surbiton to sell our property in Surbiton
Within a week they arranged an open day and within the second week we had a firm offer way exceeding the sale price.
Gareth and Josh Corrigan were instrumental for this efficient process.
I was sent all the information and the step by step progress through out the transaction and was not left wondering what is going on at any point.
When the buyers had difficulty getting their mortgage Josh was particularly supportive to both parties and also opened communications with the solicitors
many occasions to speed up the process
So overall an excellent experience in selling our house and will certainly call them up in the future.
I have bought and sold properties over 12 times and own multiple properties and having compared my experiences in the past this experience with Chancellors was

I can only say that the team in Surbiton have managed to exceed all of my expectations. Initially, I used Chancellors to manage the letting of my property for a number of years and I really can't fault the service offered here. The level of communication and speed of response to any of my queries was exactly as I had hoped for. I really can't think of another service organisation that I have dealt with that has done this any better.
Then, to cap this off, Gareth broached the idea of putting the flat up for sale. This is when the Surbiton team surpassed themselves and provided the most perfect experience I could ever wish for. Josh and Annabel led the way through the initial viewing and then Annabel continued to keep me updated every step of the way. This was frequently after normal working hours and weekends, when Annabel knew I was keen to keep updated with progress.
No matter how many calls and questions I had, the team (Josh and Annabel phone tag team) were always welcoming and enthusiastic in their responses. I certainly was made to feel like I was the only client on their books and was treated with the greatest respect.
A huge thank you has to go to Gareth for starting this journey and for being one of the most genuinely nice people you could ever have the pleasure of working with.

My experience with chancellors branch in Surbiton, both as a buyer and since January 2014 also a landlord has been refreshing. Both the letting business and the sale part of the branch are excellent.
I do however feel the branch staff had to make up for conveyancing admin part of the business, who we found absolutely useless and at times a little arrogant (so if you're allocated R Packham, I would request someone else!) but please don't let that one person detract from the excellent team in Surbiton who are excellent in our opinion.
I have to make a special mention for Annabel on the recent exceptionally complicated sale, where Annabel was helpful, tried to look for solutions, and played an active role in chasing everything through which contributed to the sale actually happening.

We had a stressful experience prior to exchange, to obtain all the documentation required from the seller's solicitor and to get things sorted with our lender, who was extremely slow. We were however lucky to have Gareth from Chancellors to push things through, when things were static. The staff at Chancellors Surbiton are a refreshing change from the experience we have had with other agents. After trying to sell our house 3 years ago to buy our DREAM home we were let down the day before exchange by our buyer and subsequently our purchase fell through. To our delight the same property come back on to the market and we had yet another opportunity to buy the home we had always wanted.
Because we had to move quickly and we wanted to ensure that we would not fail in our attempt to complete we wanted to chose an estate agent that would understand our needs and work with us to ensure this happens.
From our first meeting with Gareth King the manager we knew we had chosen the right agency. His professionalism and knowledge reassured us that our sale was in the best hands. He talked through the best approach to achieving the best price and as importantly for us how they will vet proposed purchasers to ensure that any offers made were financially checked.
Annabel Jones and Joshua Corrigan came to the house prior to any viewings to get a feel for the house discuss it's best points and help us to ensure that we presented our home in the best way for any viewings.
All viewings were conducted by them providing sufficient notice to enable us to prepare the house for viewings. Plenty of offers were made and these were presented and discussed in detail to ensure that we were happy with the final offer that we accepted.
Through out the whole process the sales team kept us updated with progress and if there were any issues that were holding up the sale we were told.
I would strongly recommend any one to engage Chancellors at Surbiton to sell their house, they are a large enough company to have all the relevant support structures in place but small enough to care providing a personal service not always found in the larger estate agent chains.
Well done To Chancellors Surbiton Sales team we are finally in the home of our dreams after 3 years and couldn't be happier.

The sale of my property would have been an extremely stressful experience if not for the support of Gareth and later Josh at Chancellors. Unfortunately I was on a roller coaster ride with potential buyers but Gareth was always there to support me and was always on top of his game. What especially impressed me was his professional attitude, his constant communication with me, his general support and most importantly his ability to produce 5 bids after one single day of viewing. Gareth definitely had my best interest at heart and I never felt like it was just about the sale.
In the later stages Josh communicated with me regarding the sale and I was also very impressed with his constant communication, his professionalism and his push to get the exchange completed as soon as possible for both my and the buyers behalf. Without Josh the completion date may have been a couple weeks later.
Going forward I would ONLY use Chancellors, having compared them to all the other agencies I used in the past. They definitely deserve the 5 star rating on all accounts.
