This agency is a significant issue. Mold was present in the flat; they claimed it was not mold but dirt based on the photos. The deposit was returned 2.5 months later, following daily reminders. Throughout this period, they lacked our details and suggested legal action to retrieve the deposit.

I recently moved to London and found a very nice flat in St John's Wood. I met several good letting agents while I was looking for a new home, but Miles Freeman from Chancellors was out standing among them. He didn't even say much, but he precisely understood my needs and talked to me quite convincingly. That made my decision much easier, and thanks to his professional advice, I did not lose the timing to secure the flat I moved in. He also helped me to negotiate with the owner Regarding the moving date as well as regarding furniture. I can highly recommend him as a wonderful letting agent. I would like to share my situation to make sure no one will get through same. Unfortunately and without any reasons the agency cannot contact the landlord therefore Im still waiting for my deposit (it has been 3 months since I left the property) literally a nightmare. And also I just been told they are not able to do anything else but chase (so I’m left in limbo).
This is the worst situation ever. Let’s see how it will end up. I will definitely never ever trust them again.
They recommended to contact TDS in order to get my deposit. Now they said because I contacted TDS my deposit doesn’t belong to then anymore!! A joke!!
Complaints doesn’t help anymore!

For some time I was looking for an apartment with no result through other agents, who often didn't get back to me or update me on offers. Miles Freeman immediately showed me a suitable apartment, meeting all my needs, when I contacted him. My offer was accepted, by the end of the day, due to Miles giving an honest description of my circumstances to the Landlord. Miles updated me every day on the rental process, checking that all of my application information was correctly completed. He immediately answered any queries that I had, with genuine, honest, polite and friendly phone calls.

We are incoming student in UK which currently not live in UK searching for apartments. The agent Ella was really nice and responsive at first place, but once she got the contract signed, she just disappeared and become hard to reach.
She was very pushy when signing the contract and promise that she would support us with move in.
But during the move in day, she refuse to give us the key because our credit card payment hasn’t arrived in their account yet. But I have made my payment 3days before, which is the suggested day in their previous mails. Then they claimed that 7 days is needed, and refuse to let us move in in the scheduled dates with bad attitude.
after we finally moved in, we found that the house is not clean and the promised microwave is not here. She just hand the key to us in the front gate and never come up and do the first check with us. She claimed that she heard from previous tenant that there would be microwave and then she pass the messaged to us, which is really unprofessional and we regard it as a lie to make us sign the deal.
In overall, the experience is unpleasant.

Highly recommend to avoid this agency. They are unprofessional, disorganized and amateurish. Right from the start of tenancy to the end, following are the things they could not get done smoothly:
1. contract signed in time
2. release of keys for move in
3. disclosing material information regarding the property such as imminent construction project on the floor above the apartment
4. Managing checkout process (inventory clerk entered the property by lying to the end-of-tenancy cleaners without our authorization or providing us notice)
5. Return of deposit (still hoping for them to reply to our emails regarding return of our £4k plus deposit).
Landlords- please go to an agency that can actually manage tenancy and has a head on their shoulders. Tenants- highly recommend to just avoid engaging with them, otherwise you will be inviting a lot of headache and stress.

Had a terrible experience at Chancellors & we are now seeking a lawyer to get a view on our situation.
We found a premium flat on Abbey Road we loved. We made an offer, the land lady was still thinking on it. We were on a deadline to get a new place, so we made an offer on another flat with another agent, with a deposit.
Chancellors came back to us & said the land lady accepted our offer. My father wrote ‘are you sure because we will lose our deposit elsewhere’. An agent called Jack Vacher assured us we would get the flat.
We lost our deposit, & gave a debit card guarantee for payment to Chancellors:
The very next day, Chancellors refused to honour our agreement. We are now abroad on holiday, with no apartment in London when we arrive.
I am appalled. The mental stress, the financial loss & the time Chancellors has wasted with us is totally unprofessional. They said the land lady said she found tenants who can move in 1 week earlier.
We are physically not in the country to move in any earlier. We were crystal clear from the beginning on our move in date for March 1st. We never wavered from this.
It’s pathetic that we were asked to match a new offer after our agreement, for a menial more sum of 1 week more. Because it’s really not about that more menial amount of money - once you cross a certain threshold of rent per month ofcourse one can afford it.
It is the sheer disrespect of our agreement which is totally unethical. I have everything in writing on all agreements & emails, & I have written this review under my legitimate real Google profile so that others can be warned.
And Chancellors can do a reply on this to say ‘We’re sorry for your experience’, well I’m sorry we’re going to have to go to a lawyer.
Furthermore, Chancellors then emailed across a new flat we could go look at - the sheer audacity as if we would EVER trust them again! I’ve met graduates who are estate agents and don’t mess clients around this month. It’s not normal behaviour and they’re just in the game to make a quick buck.
Just adding to my review - Today Chancellor’s readvertised the property we were about to rent, showing that the land lady has discriminated against us, possibly racist because clearly there’s no other offer. I have complained to the Property Obudsman and 2 media outlets now in London.

You will go for a viewing, and any place you ‘vaguely’ like, the agent will contact you 1 hour after the viewing saying there is another couple interested who are also putting in an offer.
It’s a dirty tactic of Chancellor’s. I tested this with friends too that I sent who were looking for places.
There is actually no other offer. They fool you to make a high bid. Even Foxtons are more honest than the staff who work here.

My partner and I had the WORST experience with an agent called Jack last year in summer. He was dishonest about accepting our offer. He confirmed a townhouse twice in writing. After the initial legal process started, Jack withdrew the townhouse. We were left stranded from New York, with our furniture en route & ended up staying in a hotel temporarily with my partner & paying even more to store all our deliveries. Payment had even been taken from us by this agency.
We were extremely horrified by this estate agency.
I just want to warn others out there that we found much better agents in St John’s Wood.

This particular branch is fraudulent they advertise old properties they once had to seem as though they still have plenty of properties in portered buildings. I live in abbey house Westminster and they have an ad for a property in my building. I cannot say the flat number but I will be in contact with the landlord to notify them as it’s effecting my sale. Another agency also has the same property on the market for £125,000 more. They’ve also had it up since 15th May 2018 and refuse to take it down by claiming it’s under offer. I’ve messaged them numerous times and it seems it’s been under offer now for a year and a half!!! Wow these must be the slowest negotiations ever. Absolute clowns.

i have been looking for 3 years for an apartment to my liking in the St John's wood and Made Vale area . i dealt with few agencies . But then i got introduced to Chancelors through my family that have been their clients for so many years . Dealing with Chancelors was prompt and focused .
we had two visits during which we visited few properties .The first visit properties were not as expected . But the second visit only we found the required apartment as by then the Chancelors consultants became aware of our preference and suggested accordingly . We did not have to take 100 trips to less liked apartments .
I dealt with Adam , Ian and Dean.
I wish to particularly command Dean on his professionalism .We were met by some challenges with the seller and his solicitor . Dean stepped in and managed very well what could have turned into a conflict . He showed exceptional negotiations and communication skills both ways and he made sure both parties were happy with the final arrangement .
Dealing with Dean was a pleasure and I recommend his leadership and his efficiency for those that wish to buy a property in a prompt manner .

Did not provide all information about referencing. 2 days before move in they said reference has failed and I couldn't get the apartment. Very unprofessional. I would avoid.
Update 18/12/18: My account information was submitted to Spark Energy utility provider, for the apartment I was due to move into as a new tenant account. Now Spark energy is chasing me for bills because the agency refuses to clear it out with Spark and change the account holder to the Landlord because I never ended up moving there.
No response from Chancellors about this, I have been forwarding emails to them.

Had a very positive experience with Jack Vacher at Chancellors. He showed me several apartments that were exactly what I was looking for and listened very carefully to what I wanted. He was very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process, particularly given that I was unfamiliar with letting in London. He also was not pushy or trying to “up sell” places like a lot of lettings agents I dealt with. I ended up choosing one of the properties he showed me and I’m very pleased with it. Professionalism, honesty and follow-up communication was paramount to our search for a rental property in London and we were pleased to have met Leonardo Silva from Anscombe & Ringland. Awful service from Anscombe and Ringland, who have been managing the tenancy of my flat and let out through them. I will not use them again for several reasons;
• When my tenant went into arrears they informed me that they would chase them for the remainder of the rent. It took them 2 weeks to write a first reminder which they sent following a call from myself to see what progress had been made.
• I asked them to get some quotes for a repair in January, in March I asked why I hadn't received any. I was told that my property had been moved to a different team and that they would organise the quotes. I asked again after the tenancy ended in April and I am still waiting for an explanation as to why they hadn't organised any quotes as promised.
• The check out report following the end of the tenancy is inaccurate and one of the lights had been left on and only 1 of the 3 locks had been locked. I complained about this. I have found Anscombes have been unhelpful and even obstructive in trying to remedy the situation.
When sent an attachment that I was unable to read I responded within 15 minutes requesting for the attachment to be resent and I phoned the following day to ask again. It took 6 days to get a response which was without the attachment. This is a lot of time to waste when you only have 4 weeks to make claims for damages, which Anscombes did not inform me about. I have been told that the TDS will not accept claims for damages that are not included in the inaccurate check out report, and neither can I claim for missing items, which are actually listed as not seen in the report because my tennat claims that they are in the flat!
I cannot recommend anyone entrust their property with Anscombe and Ringland and I would also caution against sharing your contact details with them. I had an email from the lettings department stating that they left me a voicemail. I have received no voicemail so I don’t know as to whom they have left this message with or if contains privileged information.

He was very helpful during the visits, always providing useful information and double checking facts. Moreover, Gideon has an excellent ability to follow-up on deals and is able to - carefully - manage the process between a buyer and a seller contrary to some other agents sitting and waiting.This deal making/deal closing ability is crucial when you are looking for a flat and Gideon provided 5-star Service. Zoe was super efficient and professional and very kind and supportive in the process -- it took less than a week to arrange the offer and secure the flat. I definitely recommend Anscombe & Ringland. The taxes are low compared to other agencies and the contract can be signed online which is great for people with non-flexible working hours. I had great service too from all people I talked with on the phone.

Great experience with Dom, who is one of the younger agents at Anscombe & Ringland -- absolutely superb agent. Always contactable on his personal mobile, even out of hours, made sure all our concerns were addressed quickly and efficiently. Pushed for what we wanted and was very honest about the state of the market at the time. Showed huge professionalism dealing with a client in the public eye, when other elder agents from different agencies did not.

I had a great experience with Anscombe & Ringland. First off, Dean was very friendly and explained clearly their way of working without playing any games (in the way many other real estate agents do).
After that I was very impressed by the follow-through methodology used by the office, showing the number of visits per week, as well as them organising visits right away and being very proactive.
And I also want to specifically recommend Gideon, who has been very pleasant to deal with, always keeping me up to date, really following the deal through every step, from following up on leads, to second visits, and even helping to follow up with the buyers and solicitors on all the details so that the deal eventually went through in very large part thanks to his efforts.
