We recently sold our flat with Charters. They offered us a warm friendly and professional service. Richard did a great job conducting the viewings and showing us suitable properties to purchase in the area. Darcey was fantastic when we were in our chain he called our solicitors regularly to move things along and went above and beyond what we expected of him. If it was not for Darcey's peserverence we would have given up months ago with our chain and never have moved. I would recommend them to anyone selling in Alton.

From valuation to the sale of our property all the Staff of Charters have been thoroughly professional, helpful, courteous and a real pleasure to work with. They have kept us fully informed both prior to and with follow up to viewings, the latter being particularly useful and never unrealistically hopeful. We requested additional photography as Spring turned to Summer and the response was immediate and clearly very helpful to the sale. The photos were excellent. We have been especially well looked after by Sarah who always willingly went the extra mile to accommodate our requests. Myself and my husband have been with Charters over the last few months when they bought the estate agent we were with.
Ed has been amazing through the transition and then with our sale. It hasn't been the easiest with the bottom of the chains solicitor and getting everyone sorted in time for exchange (happened yesterday!) To say we were anxious is an understatement as our mortgage agreement was due to expire on the 25th of this month. My husband and I were close to pulling out of the sale.
But Ed went above and beyond and helped reduce our anxiety through it all and we are extremely grateful we got him as our estate agent. We couldn't ask for a better, more genuine, trustworthy and honest estate agent.

We’ve just sold our house through Charters and couldn’t have made a better choice. Sarah impressed us so much from day one with her experience, confidence, energy and no nonsense approach. They found us a buyer immediately and when it fell though (no fault of the team) they put us front and centre and made sure they got the right people in to see it. Not an easy house to sell, a period place that’s had a big family in it for 10 years and has no parking, so important to find the kind of buyers who are drawn to that. The team are relentlessly cheerful and reassuring and really put everything they have and their whole network into selling. And the way they manage and monitor the chain, communicating with all parties and registering their concerns was particularly impressive. I’ve had lots of experience with estate agents and this lot are faster, sharper and more professional than any others.Selling has been really stressful, and I’m really glad we chose this lot to be on our side. Having lived in our home for more than 45 years, doing everything from up dating the property to developing a very large garden, which was completely over grown when we came back in 1977. We decided to move into Alton, before we became too old to manage a change. We went to Charters estate agent in Alton. I have to say the service has been amazing from all the staff. Right from our initial chat with Sarah, back in May to actually agreeing price in the last couple of days. Jack, Richard and Edward taking all the prospective buyers round and giving us feed back very regularly and advice. They have helped us through everything, as things have changed considerably since we last entered the housing market. Highly professional, very knowledgeable on the local market and beyond and above all very pleasant and at times quite humorous ! Making what is a sad time for us, a less stressful journey and one that we are beginning to relax about. A big thank you to you all.

Richard at Charters has gone above and beyond any estate agent. We registered our interest with all estate agents to find a property that matched our expectations. Richard was the only estate agent in Alton to call us regularly with potential properties even though we were not selling our home through them. I cannot recommend Charters and Richard highly enough. A big thank you to Jack, for really listening to our needs as a buyer and recommending properties new to the market that matched our criteria.
After 2 months of searching for properties with other agents, not getting calls returned, or not being updated when new properties came to market, it was so refreshing when on our first phone call to Jack, not only did he arrange to have viewings for all the properties we like back to back on the same day, but he organised a few extra that had just come to market that he knew we would consider. We ended up having a fun day out, viewing 5 properties back to back.
What made it more enjoyable is that we didn’t feel as if we were being hard sold. Before we went in to a house, we were given all the relevant info, and then left to explore the house freely with Jack following answering any questions we had, and pointing out bits we missed.
At the end of the day we had two properties that we loved, and made a successful offer on one of them the following day.
However when calling the office to place the offer, we were then transferred to Edward, who was absolutely brilliant and even took our call and made calls on our behalf just after the office had closed to ensure our offer was accepted just before the weekend. I do hope Jack was able to take the main credit for this sale as it was his efficient and sincere communication and organisation that led to us offering on a house we truly love.
Jacks level of service was far beyond what any other agent had previously offered, and it really does make a difference.

Cannot speak highly enough of Alex and the Team at Charters in Alton. We had been looking for more than a year for a family home and were delighted to be able to agree on a property that not only meet our needs but for which the transaction was professionally and efficiently handled to achieve an outcome that both we and the vendor have been very happy with.
As well as first class marketing and presentation (the team that handled the viewings were great) a special mention should also go out to Stephen and the team who subsequently handle the deal-progress too.
We set-out to get the transaction done inside of 8 weeks and achieved it in a little over 5 in the end despite the inevitable back-and-forward that goes on with these kinds of transactions..

As first time buyers we were clueless about the whole process. We dealt mostly with Jamie Solis, who was very friendly and helped us a lot. We used Charters for 3 months (they came out very highly on a local comparison) but only had about 13 visits during the 13 weeks and not a single offer. We showed at least two of these around ourselves and there was only one person that showed even remote interest. We were asked after 2 months if we were satisfied but were led to believe we were not doing anything wrong or that the property wasnt priced reasonably well. We were prepared to take a small cut in our sale value but we were not impressed by the quality of the sales performance. During this time, other places were sold around us. Our son and daughter both moved house and we were not able to effectively search ourselves as we had no buyer. So Charters - very poor.

We had previously been on with a different Estate Agents and had a rather bad experience. We hesitantly invited Sarah to value our property, as we assumed our flat was unsellable! Sarah was so passionate and positive about our home, whilst being completely honest and open about the difficult climate we were facing. We signed the contract on the Thursday, had a viewing on the Friday and had excepted an offer by the Saturday! How amazing is that!
We went on to buy with Charters, with the help of Toby and Jonathan we finally completed on our home last Friday. Although the process was rather stretched out both Jonathan and Toby kept us updated the whole way through so we were involved and happy with the situation, any problems we faced with solicitors they were keen to help and advise to resolve issues.
We would recommend their services to anyone looking to buy or sell, and will certainly be using them in the future if we choose to sell.

So I asked them to at least send me what they had and meanwhile asked why the description of the development had failed to mention the town 1.5 miles away to which we received a mendacious answer. So we decided to drive 100 miles and have a look for ourselves and found exactly why the main town was not mentioned. Classic estate agency prevarication...

However throughout our journey with Charters the staff could not have been more helpful. The team at Charters we’re so efficient at finding our new home. We took a long time in a very slow market to sell our house through another agent and lost out on a lot of nice properties. I would have to say, without doubt these guys are the best, most effective and efficient agents in Alton. Trust me we have tried a couple of the others and none were as proactive and determined as Charters in getting our property sold. They lined up 4 viewings for us immediately and we sold to the 3rd person that viewed. They are extremely knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I would 100% recommend them above any of the others. They really are a significant cut above the rest. They are a very approachable team and really do go above and beyond in terms of service. I signed with Charters in Alton in November 2018 as i was extremely impressed with Sarah Harris who came to assess my property. She was extremely efficient and totally honest with every question I asked and was such a lovely person to deal with and that view has never changes. Since they have been marketing my property i have met all the staff either in the office or when they have brought round prospective buyers and every one of the staff there are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and cannot do enough for you. Unfortunately due to the downturn in the property market, I have now decided to rent my property for the foreseeable future and again everyone at Charters could not have been more caring or helpful in organising this, together with so much advice and help. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Charters of Alton to anyone wanting to market their property either for sale or to rent and couldn't rate them highly enough. Sarah, Hayley, Jonathan, Jamie and Mary are all wonderful, feel like friends, have always been readily available with superb advice and support and I am very grateful to them all for everything. They really put themselves out to make the sale of our house successful and the purchase of a new home a reality. We moved to Charters from another Estate Agent and found them to be very friendly and professional. They kept us informed on a weekly basis of enquiries and how the current market was doing. Once they had found a buyer for our property they supported to the exchange of contracts and took a lot of pressure off me.
