Not sorted a broken toilet - Paid over market value, for a property with a broken toilet... this was reported 3 times by the previous tenant and not brought to our attention before we signed for the property. They blame Urang for the key being delayed (it took 6 weeks to get a 2nd coded key for a front door, as a couple moving in?)
Terrible experience from start to now... and we still have 1.5 years left?

Appaulling experience. I had two agents working to sell my flat and the other agent found the successful buyer.
Chestertons seemed sloppy and would often book viewings in at the exact times I'd explained wasn't convenient with my new baby.
When I said I had an offer from the other agents, Chestertons kept trying to book new viewings in - and hadn't communicated to the rest of their team that I had had this offer at all.
The worst thing is, a year after selling my flat through the other agent - I then had very aggressive emails from Chestertons debt collectors. They didn't sell the flat and were claiming they needed the full commission, (which would be on top of the full commission I had already paid the successful agents who had done all the work).
It transpired that Chestertons had showed the buyer the flat; but had wrongly assumed they had made the intial 'introduction'. This led to them demanding nearly £30k! Their introduction came not only after the buyers had seen the property before with the other agent, but also after the buyers had made an offer - so was wrong on many levels.
It would have been courteous for Chestertons to have got in touch with me directly to investigate this, rather than them passing it to their debt collections who are aggressive and sent urgent deadlines for immediate payment. I had assumed it was spam but some people might be intimidated into paying.
It felt very underhand and aggressive.

A bunch of useless agents here to cash in as much as they can in commission with absolutely no intend to provide any quality services to either the landlord or the tenants.
By far the worst real estate agents I have seen in a very long time, especially the letting s team.

I approached various estate agents during the Christmas period in December 2023 while on holidays as I was looking to buy a house in the Fulham area. It was 26th of December and gladly I received a reply from Albert Lawrence at Chestertons. I must say, not many agencies replied on that period! Albert was extremely helpful accommodating the viewings to my busy schedule when I returned back to the UK in January. I must say viewings after 6pm are not something other estate agencies do so I felt with Albert at Chestertons I was receiving an amazing service as nothing was a major issue for him. His attitude was the key for me to feel confident to put an offer in a house he showed me. The process was stressful because of various reasons not related to the estate agent but the fact that Albert and Chestertons were in the middle, made the process a success. This week I completed the purchase of the house and Im very happy. I recommend Chestertons Fulham Road to anyone looking to buy a property in the area. It’s the worst experience I ever had. I being landlord for 15 years and never came across such dishonest and disrespectful agency. They rented my property without showing it to tenant and didn’t tell me about it. Further they didn’t obtain funds from tenant and told me that they did. Additionally they misrepresented property to tenant, who was also unhappy. They became very rude and unhelpful as soon I signed contract, negotiator told it’s not her business any more and put the phone down. I made several complaints, including to head office however none of them was responded.
Further they contacted me asking to give them property again, promising that different person will deal with it. However after few weeks I found out it’s was removed from the market without my knowledge. When I ask why, they told me because of previous issue. So they decide to victimise me for complaining. Just want to say thank to this agency for stopping dealing with my property, nothing good will come out from such service! Ovoid them at any cost!

Not really rating the estate agent service but the receptionist Sarah, saved my life today, with nothing but sellotape to hand. I'd walked into several businesses on my way, to the really awful post office, who said they had none or they wanted to sell me sellotape. Sarah with her kind heart,and angel wings, helped me fix what needed fixing. I am eternally grateful.
I must mention this probably is a great estate agents because you walk in, and the hubbub from the large staff numbers, makes it feel like you have walked into ground control at NASA. Just saying.

When we found the home we really wanted he helped us through the whole process including working with the solicitors all the way to completion, these are the tough weeks when you're hoping to complete and when it can all fall through.
We not only completed but got in before Christmas.
It could have all gone wrong due to legal complications. Without the support of Leo, we might have lost it and definitely would not have completed so quickly.

They were really nice when to sign a contract and to move in.
I got no help or interests when I had to move out earlier then the contract ends.
My case was forwarded to around 6 different agents to deal with.
Every next new agent had no clue what going on.
Its probably ok to use Chesterton when you wan to get in to contract.
There will be not much help in case you need to do tenancy swap or end the contract early.
I was Pregnant in different country bombarded with email from Chestreston. While the people who stayed at the flat had messed up the tenancy swap to which I had nothing to do with.

Overall a very good service.
Matthew only showed us want we wanted to view - so that saved us a lot of time that we normally spent with other agents who insist on showing you everything regardless of whether it meets our requirements or not. Once we made our choice, there was quite a bit of going backwards and forwards before our offer was accepted - Matthew and his colleagues handled our changing requests very well and they have been very flexible and patient with us.

I have rented twice now with these guys - very professional and helpful in both cases. Their tenancy agreements are more detailed, clearer, and generally more professionally written than others I have signed in London. Most recently, Gary Noone helped me find a great place during a very competitive time of year. Following a number of viewings over a few weeks, he collected a video of a property as I was not in town and arranged a viewing at very short notice, allowing me to put in a competitive offer early on (which ultimately was successful). I struggled with various agents & landlords over 7 weeks, losing 7 properties in the process.
Matthew Gwyer and Garry Noone were fantastic and very helpful. Had a great insight to my requirements and offered me properties within my price range. They understood my mindset and what I was looking for giving more of a consultative approach, rather than hard sell. Gary initially was so helpful showing me properties and doing what he could to get me a property last minute. It wasn't meant to be but Matthew thereafter checked in when he had a new property and did what we could to get the property I wanted and in a timely manner. Terrible experience. Would avoid for both buyers and sellers. Absolutely no follow up, do not want me to visit properties I like unless I use their broker, do not reply to my emails when I ask to arrange viewings. Asking prices reducer almost everyday suggesting they overprice.
Not surprised that their properties are on the market for more than 6 months! Luckily I have met better agents in the area with whom I managed to buy the house I wanted.

After 9 years in London, you reach the point that certain behaviours are simply unacceptable. Chesterton was one of the agencies I did have to go through over my recent house hunting. Sadly enough was one of those that service was very poor. I took a day of work, both actually my partner and myself, we did confirm twice our appointment (the day before too), with their representative, but then 5mins before the scheduled time he called to cancel. A silly excuse really that the keys where with a contractor when after checking the website sb would tell that both properties where already rented. What was even worse after escalating was that his line manager tried to apologise and re-assure me the properties where still in market and that they were not lying... Needless to say that he never followed up on my request to re-arrange the viewings. Would suggest you look just around the corner for another agency which is much more professional and trustworthy.

Gary has been absolutely amazing and so helpful finding us our place in London. We were moving from Newcastle but Gary was incredibly flexible with arranging viewings around us and our schedules. I decided to sale my flat,luckily with Chestertons just round the corner thought why not.,,and I was so right.
I can only recommend them,they did make the whole process as easy as one can,proactive team, Jasper,James ,Lucy,the A team.
It is never easy,sometimes stressful,disheartening,frustrating even but they handled the whole "venture" with care,personal support,advice .
Of course one has to deal with so many things,visits,solicitors,paperwork but at each and every steps i could always count on them to help,to work hard,all that with a smile,care and kindness.
So,should you wish to sale your property,they are the solution.

Rented a one bed flat in Fulham through Hannah Rouse at Chestertons, Fulham Road. Our experience was excellent. Viewings were arranged very quickly and the properties matched our criteria very closely. Communication was efficient and constant between ourselves and the agent, meaning we were fully informed at all times. We required a very fast turnaround and this need was cared for extremely well, with the time from first viewing to moving in being just over 2 weeks. Fees were very reasonable compared to most London estate agents and they even managed to secured us a better rent than advertised. Would recommend.
