In short: No tenant should ever have to go through this, and I am now pursuing legal action against them.
To anyone considering renting through this company: save yourself the stress, and endless chasing. I am actively gathering evidence and testimonies from other renters who’ve had similar experiences lucky for me i saved emails ans sms' of everything!! The agents are not going to be your best friends but atleast Choose a company that treats you with basic decency and respect.
In my 20 years of renting properties, I have never encountered such neglect, unprofessionalism, and a complete lack of decency.
Key issues:
When they needed my deposit, they called me every two hours. Once they had it, they disappeared completely.
I had to chase them constantly just to receive the contract (!!), and two months later, the keys. The waiting was endless, with delays at every turn and zero explanations.
The reference check was a nightmare. Last-minute "revelations" from the agent left me sleepless, stressed, and fearful that I’d end up on the street and lose my deposit money.
The final straw? On move-in day, they left me stranded outside the property, standing in the rain with my dog, because they "forgot" to inform me of the access code.
Avoid this company at all costs. My experience was exhausting, unprofessional, and completely avoidable had they shown even basic respect and accountability.

Choose your estate agent carefully: These estate agents are exactly as what you would expect from them as per their reputation: untrustworthy. What they promise will not materialise, there is no emergency cover in case something goes wrong and all they do is to say we are sorry. Worst experience and I do not want anybody else to go through what we have been through.

Truly awful experience. Amateur approach to negotiations, time keeping, customer service and just all round mediocrity.
Go for a smaller estate agent who actually cares and isn't scared to speak to the buyers.
The "manager" who was supposedly selling on our behalf was embarrassingly bad at his job.

We sold our flat through Chestertons who were great from beginning to end. They showed a lot more desire to promote our property (2 bed flat) than any other estate agent in the area, and very quickly got plenty of viewings resulting in an acceptable offer in a few days.
When the deal became more complicated our agent, Conor, was a great help in achieving our best interest and getting the deal over the line.

I purchased a flat through this branch of Chestertons. It was a tortuous process for a number of reasons none of which were due to the Agents. I dealt with Xander Dawes who was unfailingly helpful and reliable.
Estate Agents tend not to have a good public image but Xander is a great example of how a good one can make the whole house buying business less traumatic.

They were really nice when to sign a contract and to move in.
I got no help or interests when I had to move out earlier then the contract ends.
My case was forwarded to around 6 different agents to deal with.
Every next new agent had no clue what going on.
Its probably ok to use Chesterton when you wan to get in to contract.
There will be not much help in case you need to do tenancy swap or end the contract early.
I was Pregnant in different country bombarded with email from Chestreston. While the people who stayed at the flat had messed up the tenancy swap to which I had nothing to do with.

We have been familiar with Josh and his team for a number of years whilst first looking for a house and subsequently selling the house we did buy via Chesterton Humberts.
Over the years they have offered a great service with a great level of communication (which is the most important part in a very stressful process!) and advice including the feedback from potential buyers. We managed to take on board a number of these points and subsequently incorporated into our redecoration of "what buyers want".
Through their network of locations they are able to market through a number of offices which ensured maximum exposure.
They managed to handle all the questions and pressure that we put on them very well and in an always friendly and helpful manner despite us being quite demanding at times and acheived the best price for our house that we could have hoped for.
We would definitely use them again if we move again (which hopefully will be not too soon!)
