Fatima from Foxtons could understand what we were looking for. Thanks for showing us around, it was a pleasure every time!
Contacted them two months ago looking for a flat. A guy name Tom was very nice on the phone but not once in person. He argued that I said my limit was 1,300 pcm while I said 1,200 pcm. However, he showed us 4 flats, none of them under 1,300 (the cheapest was 1,350), insisting in that "the normal thing is to spend the 80% of the salary on the rent. Well, that may be your case Tom, but I don't want to struggle every month to pay my bills. He rudly insists so much on this that he even took a calculator and started calculating how much money we would still have after paying 1400 for a 1 bedroom flat near Portobello Market (btw, I thought the limit supposed to be 1300...). He also added that we will not find a 1 bedroom flat for less than 1300, unless we go to live to heathrow. Well, guess what Tom, we find it in Hackney for 1150, and it is not the crappy flats you showed to us (one of them included the landlords -an old couple that, I guess, wasn't expecting having two girls living together- living on the second floor of the building). I am not saying this the experience you will get with Foxtons. Not at all, at the same time colleagues from Foxtons Archway, Ealing and Greenwich were being incredibly kind and professional with us. I just believe this particular "Tom" from Foxtons Notting Hill is only used to work with wealthy people that would pay whatever they asked for a old, muddy, crappy flat in Kensington. It's fine, just tell me from the begining and don't go wasting my time.
Abigail Thurston was the agent who helped me and she is amazing. Approachable, courteous and punctual.
Sophie Woolfenden of Knight Frank lettings was a lifesaver. She helped us make speedy contact with the landlady of a home we had seen on the KF website and oversaw arrangements with efficiency, tact and sensitivity. We love our new home and would not have had the opportunity to live there without Sophie's professional and thoughtful attentions.
Everyone at Winkworth has always been extremely friendly, quick and efficient. Very responsive. Highly recommended for both landlords and tenants. Never a problem.
Poor customer service and give you incorrect information on moving in. Told me there would be no bed so bought new one but when moved in there was a bed. Proceeded to throw old bed away and was told could not do that. Did anyway and installed new and better bed
I have recently purchased a property in the Park West through Chestertons at Hyde Park.
I was served by Umed with an exceptional service through the purchase process. Not only Umde, all the staff at the Chesterton is very helpful, very professional and clear with their communication.
Even while i was away on the holiday, they had communicated accordingly my my time zone by putting extra hours.
Thanks Chestertons !
The "service" received from Chestertons Hyde Park office is literally so bad it cannot conceivably be called a service.
An agreement was signed by both parties on a prospective sale agreeing to commission of 1.25%. The property was sold and Chestertons sent an invoice charging commission at 1.5%. When I refused to pay the difference, the South African sales manager Dylan James turned up at my house and literally tried to kick my front door in. My teenage daughter was inside and terrified. Mr James proceed to loiter at my front door for the best part of an hour - smoking cigarettes, shouting and threatening violence. Upon eventually returning to his office he called me and threated to employ heavy-handed debt collectors if I didn't cough up. I refused to pay a penny more than the rate agreed. Mr James eventually and ungracefully accepted.
This firm is arrogant, dishonest, and inefficient.
Piers at KHF Bayswater delivered exceptional service with my search, above and beyond any other agent I dealt with. He took the time at the outset to understand my needs and so didn’t waste my time showing me properties that don’t match my criteria. He was honest, had good knowledge of the market and introduced me to new areas that I wouldn’t have considered but am now about to live in. Very happy with the service.
The worst experience ever! Be prepared to involve your lawyers before signing anything with them. They are the worst authorized delinquents! Incompetents and thieves! They only do their interests! I strongly discourage everyone to cross their door.
