My boyfriend and I are currently in the process of property searching as first time buyers and Connells have been great!
Olivia has been super helpful when it comes to arranging viewing times that work for us and keeping us up to date if any other properties that match what we’re looking for come on the market.
We have viewed a fair few different properties with multiple different estate agents both in England & Wales and have sometimes felt quite rushed in the past and a bit awkward like they wanna get you in & out as soon as possible but with Connells, we never feel that.
Harrison has shown us a few different properties on different days and he’s great! He talks us through all the features of the properties, will thoroughly answer any questions we have about the properties and buying process, doesn’t rush us, gives us a chance to take a second look and makes the whole process just really chilled & stress free almost as if you’re viewing the properties with a mate.
We’ve also seen a couple mortgage advisors both in England & Wales but hands down Rob is the best and someone who we’ll definitely be sticking with! We walked out of our first mortgage advisor meeting, looked at each other and both went “wow, he’s great, he genuinely cares” and it’s clear to see he really does care about helping his clients out to get them the best rates he can and to make the whole process as smooth as possible keeping us up to date throughout if possible lenders change etc. He’s extremely knowledgeable & informative when explaining everything from the rates to the process from start to end to ensure you know what is going on. No question is too big or small.
Whether you’re a first time buyer or not, we’d recommend going with Connells Torquay to make the stressful property buying process much smoother all round! ??

They let the property next to me over 7 years. Two of the three were druggies. Complained bitterly to them as we had to live this being an owner and their service was dire. They lied about the amount of parking spaces. Latest druggie left without handing all the keys back. So tennants are unvetted and return inventory not completed properly and any lease they give is not adhered to or enforced. I wouldn't trust or use them ever. Give them your property at your peril. Plenty of fake reviews here I suggest you read the lower score ones as they are closer to the truth.

You have made myself and my wife ill over this so please don't tell me your business has discovered a conscience because I have left a bad review and damage limitation won't work. I stand by my review and I've only listed half the issues.

Jordan has been absolutely amazing. Answering all my questions and some. He is very knowledgeable on the areas that we had our viewings. Local amenities, beaches bus stops. Walking and driving distances.
We first met Jordan at the beginning of December last year and again at the beginning of February this year looking for our final home. Taking us through a big challenge of leaving my house of Forty years.

George the estate agent was great, the presentations of the properties where great as well but the portfolio quite small. I would of buy from George if I would of find a good property.
The mortgage advisor was full of knowledge but didn’t gave me the best rates or enough information about the buying process. Very disappointed that I needed to follow up so often for calculations that never came back.
I didn’t buy with Connells in the end as I found my dream property with a local agent

We contacted connells to enquiry about viewing properties for sale. Hannah and phoebe were absolutely lovely as well as professional. They handled our enquires really well and we felt well informed. WORST ESTATE AGENTS EVER!
Firstly as a buyer it has been an uphill battle with Connells.
Felt bullied into using their mortgage advisor and solicitors despite having an AIP.
I had to battle and go to head office to have my offer put through to the seller. As they wouldn’t accept due to branch manager not being available.
Unprofessional communication from the branch manager at the beginning. Towards the end NO COMMUNICATION what so ever.
Completion date- haven’t got all the keys to the property. Called back to ask them to contact the seller…… guess what NO ONE HAS CALLED ME BACK!

The worst letting agents I've ever had ro go with have done or the landlord since we have been in the place and then on top of covid they kick a family out with disabled children for no reason and now won't help ro get us some we're else ro.live after they left us in a place for over a month with no hot water and heating and the heating is still not working the worst estate agents

Had a viewing with the delightful Jodie at Connells.
It was our first viewing to look at potential first home buy. She was so open and honest, gave us loads of advice and information and even arranged for a mortgage advisor appointment for the next day.
Genuinely so impressed with the level of service and how friendly and warm the experience was when we are anxious and excited to begin our search for a home.

Jodie conducted two viewings for me at the property I have decided to buy in Torquay. From the outset, I found her to be very friendly and personable, yet professional at the same time. She answered all my questions, with great patience and made helpful suggestions regarding the layout of rooms and possible innovations I could make. She was respectful and polite to myself and the owners, who we met at the second viewing. On this occasion, I took a lot of photos and, at her suggestion, a couple of videos, to show my family. Again, she did not mind how long I took; in fact, I would say she genuinely shared my joy and enthusiasm for the house.

Twice me and my family have contacted Connells about a property to rent and both times have been told someone would call us back to arrange a viewing. Both times we had to chase them up and both times have been fobbed off with the promise of a phone call back, these phone calls never happened and both times I find out, on the internet, that the properties have been let.
Possibly we are discriminated against due to one of use being quite severely disabled.

Giving one star because I couldn't give zero. We tried to view a house we wanted, as soon as they knew we were cash buyers, they wouldn't show us round the property and refused to submit our asking price offer. We found out that they do this because they are more interested in the backhander they get for recommending their preferred lender, so cash buyers have no chance, even though we put in a bigger offer than the vendor got, Connells Torquay are staffed by corrupt money sharks and if the company was interested in improving customer service through feedback and complaints, they would not put a large surcharge on your phone call if you ring their complaints line.
Beware of these awful unprofessional crooks.

This company is unprofessional, poor communication and unreliable. Our sale got agreed in July and still haven’t been given an exchange date 5 months later, there is no chasing or contact through this company, I have had to do all the work, the lawyers they have recommended to the other party are awful, premium lawyers are who Connells work alongside, there attitude towards customers is poor, would avoid Connells and premium lawyers at all cost. The only way I have managed to get communication from anyone in Connells was by me mentioning that I am going to put in a complaint. At any opportunity I have given for them to update me on my purchase I have been ignored. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!!!!!

Connells have been extremely accommodating, professional and friendly. They were always willing to give advice and guidance and everyone I met was extremely helpful. House viewings were very well organised and even following the lockdown I felt safe viewing properties that Connells had arranged, with everyone wearing the agreed PPE. Moving in was smooth and as quick as youd like. However after that its phone calls every month on rent day like I was a child. Moving out was even worse! Took 2 phone calls and an email thread with 3 members of staff for them to finally clock on I was leaving. They demanded to show people round even tho I was still living there packing. They even tried using their key without permission! Incompetant, don't communicate, VERY pushy and demanding. DO NOT RECOMMMEND

I have used Connells Torquay for a couple of years now. They are excellent and their willingness to help goes over and above most estate agents especially on the renting side. When my properties becomes empty they are right on it making sure its rented asap, so I do not loose any income. They are helpful and friendly and are really good at their job, their manager makes sure everything runs smoothly. I would highly recommend them.

We were recommended Connells by our next door neighbour and I have to be honest, our previous experience with estate agents was not a positive one, however they excelled themselves! A young man called Ben Pegg came to see us within a couple of days of me contacting them. He was friendly, informative, enthusiastic and I felt he totally wanted to work for us and get us the best possible deal. Connells & Ben must be the (Fastest estate agents in the south west) The For Sale sign went up on the Tuesday and the Friday of the same week -we had a buyer for our home. Amazing. I know how helpful reviews can be and I would have no hesitation in recommending Connells and in particular Ben Pegg to anyone. The ladies Laura and Tannesha were also really helpful

From start to finish can’t find a fault! Was on market with another agent and beginning to think we wouldn’t be able to sell. Awful took my money and ran. I have paid over £2000 up front and have provided a snagging list of issues. The latest a toilet that doesn't flush properly. They take messages but NEVER furnish me with a reply. Avoid them they are useless. I am going to the ombudsman. I am appalled I have both been a tenant and a landlord. I would never leave my tenants like this. They are the worst I have ever encountered. Please stay away from them. They have won awards this must be based on them nog being as bad as others rather than being good. I need a flushing toilet this is the 21st country it feels like 3rdcworld conditions.

Don't deserve one star, arranged to view a rental property, 1 week earlier. To travel 200+ miles on train, to arrive at property, no one came to meet me. When I rang the agents they had no record of the arranged viewing. Absolutely rubbish!! So unhelpful, unable to offer a alternative appointment, LANDLORD'S avoid at all cost.

On the whole, we received excellent service from Ben and his team. Our only quibble was that we asked NOT to have a For Sale board put up outside the property, and stressed the point several times. Our request was ignored and both they and we were on the receiving end of what we'd predicted would happen from certain quarters. All ended well however and the sale went smoothly.

I purchased my property from Connells (Torquay) in 2012 and needed to obtain market appraisals in 2017, and to re-mortgage. I was a lifetime customer and the whole team really looked after me from beginning to end. Steven went above and beyond to help where needed in all the processes promptly. He passed me onto the mortgage adviser, Scott who continued the good work! They were patient regardless of the amount of time it took my end to ensure i was able to get everything i needed to proceed. There was no additional costs for any of the services due to being a lifetime customer, which was excellent! The staff work very well together as a team, to bring customers like myself a very good service all round. I will be using this estate agents if i am ever in need of these services again. Thank you!!

What an unprofessional conversation today with the manager called BEN Peeg. His customer service is shocking...and disgrace to all Connells branches too..when I asked a copy of the property's covenants so I can look for restrictions that apply to this one property- he refused it. He said he never heard anyone in 20 years of experience asking for one. And he won't give me one. I told him it's my consumer rights to get all the information I need before the viewings or committing myself in buying it- he told me to deal with the solicitor, its not up to them to supply me with the information of what they are selling.I spoke to my solicitor and I was informed that it's in breaching the law agaist consumer rights. . . So here we are- how does that sound for selling your house with them? Especially when other branches are ok with providing the copy of the document in the same company...is it just Torquay incompetent staff and the Manager mr Peeg ? And no manners in dealing with a difficulty in answering to the questions.. straight away switching their bullying mode and refusal..talking over, trying to piss you of so you get frustrated, can't deal with the situation in a calm and respectful manners..i think he should not work in such a sector - where you need to have some knowledge of the laws and have some respect to others.

Connells did not have as long as some of the other agents but were very pro-active which led to them selling our property. After receiving a fantastic sales pitch to advertise our property up for sale with Connells we decided we should go ahead and sell through them.
BIG MISTAKE.
The advert was promised and promised but was over a week late going up. The premium photographer we paid alot of money for missed a couple of appointments and then the photos were not atall that special.
When the advert did make it online it didn't really sell the property. The description was very poor and littered with spelling mistakes. We had ALOT of comments on how poor the advert actually was. After no viewings and poor service we made a complaint and took our property off the market with connells and went across the road,
Advertising it with somebody other than connells gave our property the advert it deserved and We soon had people viewing and bids placed. We have now completed.
