My review is directed more at the management of CW rather than specific staff members.
The ethic of this company is literally to make as much money as possible at the expense of 'buyers/seller/tenants and landlords".
My experience both buying and renting has been very very negative.
Extremely poor customer care…always a different person dealing with you so literally no understanding or relationship is built up. A real impression that money is of vital importance to the company over customer care. So much so that they will likely see this review and not be all that bothered as they are doing good business so one bad review doesn’t matter.
I’ve lived around the world and bought, sold and rented….CW are the worst company I’ve ever dealt with.
Every dealing with the company left me feeling that they just weren't that pleasant.
CW basically spread themselves too thin…and have very ruthless management causing those lower down to deliver terrible service.

Being first time buyers and starting the daunting process of finding a property, my fiancé Matt and I had an ‘estate agent crawl’ down Waterlooville High Street to give our details and requirements and ended up in Cubitt & West last and it was definitely a case of saving the best until last. We have just completed a purchase through C+W and I cannot recommend them. When viewing the property Mo made us feel very welcoming and presented the property well. When it came to negotiate the price felt Mo was very patronising, saying things like “Money isn’t an issue for the vendors” reiterating that they were doctors and very busy and very important people. We agreed on a price and started the process of purchasing. Our sale was already very well progressed, and we were told this would be an easy transaction because there was no forward chain. The owners were currently living in London.
Part way through the process I was contacted by Julie Bramble informing that while progress towards our purchase was going well our vendors purchase would not be ready until July. It transpired that the house being sold chain free was a lie. Mo tried to cover for the error stating that the vendors did not understand what “No forward chain” meant!
When it finally came to exchange it was agreed to do so with a large gap between that and completion. Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control our buyer ceased to be viable. We informed C+W immediately and an agreement was put in place that we would find another buyer in 2 weeks' time, or the house would go back on the market, luckily Bernards in Portsmouth managed to find a buy with plenty of time to spare!
Finally, it came time to exhange, our solicitors were ready and the solicitors behind us were. Our vendors solicitors? Radio silence, later we would find out that the buyers solicitors took the afternoon off organising no cover. The fault of C+W? Not directly but there seemed to be no drive from them to push sale and get it done, in my opinion they dropped the ball and failed to care for both their client and us as buyers. It should also be known that the vendors solicitors JS Law were recommended by C+W.
My wife and I were very upset with the lack of progress on our vendors end, allegedly there were issues with their onward purchase, let’s remember the house was sold to us as “No forward chain”. I called Julie and informed her that the situation was unacceptable, and it needed resolving or the date for completion would need to move back 2 weeks to accommodate us organising our move. Was I angry? Yes. Was I curt? Perhaps. Did I shout at Julie? No, I didn’t.
After this I received a call from Mo making a “man to man” statement telling me that Julie doesn’t earn much and that she works very hard, and I shouldn’t shout at her. My response was simple I’d from now on only deal with Mo. Again, I was told that the vendors were very important doctors and they’re very busy and this transaction wasn’t high on their priorities and that the original date for completion was now immovable due to how important his clients were. Did Mo ask about mine and my family's circumstances? No. Did he ask about my work commitments? No. What he did do is bully my wife and I into agreeing to another day of waiting for the vendors solicitors to pull their finger out and get to exchange.
The entire day my stomach was in knots, and I was suffering greatly. I contacted my solicitors to inform her that this was starting to affect my health and she moved heaven and earth to finally get us to exchange at the cost of the vendors house being sold chain free.
If you absolutely must hire C+W I will leave you with the following
* If you’re buying from them, you are a commodity, nothing more. Don’t expect to be treated like a human.
* If you’re selling through them, see the above and may God have mercy on your buyer.
* Don’t use JS Law
The likely response from this will be that it’s been a very busy and hard time of year, there’s a simple solution to that. Don’t take on more clients than you can handle.
Mo if you’re going to try and convince readers that you saved the day by getting in touch with your contacts at JS Law, It was more likely our solicitors contacting one of the partners at JS Law.

We recently purchased two houses, one from Cubitt & West and one from another estate agency. My experience with Cubitt & West was a cut above the rest and a very different level of service. They were attentive, friendly and professional; I couldn’t have wished for a better experience. Through the whole process, Mo and Julie made sure I was happy with everything and helped enormously with communications between myself and the vendor. This experience has highlighted to me how important it is to find the right estate agent that’s not only attentive to the vendor, but also prospective buyers to make the process a smooth transaction for both parties. On the day of completion, we happened to be away. Mo from Cubitt & West was kind enough to collect the keys and inspect the property for us. He also followed up with photos and arranged for his rental department to advertise the property. Marcus and Abbie phoned, clearly explained the process offering very competitive rates. Me and my husband recently sold our family home through Cubitt and West and we couldn’t have asked for a better service. From the moment David popped out to see us we were very impressed with his knowledge and I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone more enthusiastic! Having to handle the process of dealing with my late mothers estate from a distance seemed like a fairly daunting task. After speaking with a Elliott in the office, I was instantly put at ease. He arranged for a representative from the office to pick up keys from Mums solicitors and provide us with a valuation for her Bungalow. Moe has given me feedback every step of the way, and it felt like no request from our end has been too much of an ask. He even managed to arrange some clearance quotes for us! There is no doubt in our mind, when we come to market we will be asking Cubitt and West to sell Mums home.

Our main point of contact has been Dave. He has an energy that is infectious and made us feel we were in good hands, which has proven to be the case. Before our details even hit the internet, he had matched a prospective buyer, they came to see it next day and deal done - all in a few days!!! We are still in shock....

Cubitt & West in Waterlooville gave us the absolute best selling experience we could ask for! Craig and his team were exceptionally upbeat and professional, and made my husband and I feel completely at ease during the whole process. We’d like to thank Craig, Elliott and Wayne for answering our many questions (first time sellers here!) and for being so knowledgeable about how our sale was getting on. The communication between the staff at the Waterlooville office was amazing and we definitely noticed that whenever we spoke to them.
There were two shining stars during the whole process though: Dave and Julie.
Dave did our initial valuation and we were blown away by his whole demeanour. Dave was super professional, completely down to earth and had a sense of excitement about him that made us want to sell our house through Cubitt&West. Dave understood that we were nervous first time sellers and did so much to keep us reassured- from setting our expectations at every point to taking the time to contact us regularly to check in, even if it was just to let us know that there was no update. So, Dave, thank you for making it fun!
Julie was our sales progress lady and she is worth her weight in gold! Julie took what was becoming a very stressful situation and managed to turn it around to get us into our new home in time for Christmas! It was so nice to know Julie was on the other end of the phone. She spoke to us with so much patience and explained legal things that we had no clue about. I truly believe if it wasn’t for Julie working so hard we would not have moved in before Christmas. Thank you, Julie! Because of you we got to spend our first Christmas in our new home as a family (next Christmas Paul is away with work).
So to conclude: Cubitt & West did a smashing job all round and we absolutely cannot fault them! We’ve been telling EVERYONE to go to Cubitt & West because of this!

I recently sold my house with Craig and his team of Cubitt and west Waterlooville. I initially had contact with David the sales advisor who when I informed him of what I had to sell he said he had someone who would be keen to see, he brought them round the following day and before we knew it we had our buyer.
Throughout the process the team including Thea, Elliott, Emma and Wayne have always been more than happy to advise and help when needed.
Then there was Julie who pushed the sale through and was on top of the process all the way, thanks to her my sale went through within 8 weeks and with a few obstacles with the chain along the way - She was Brillaint!
To all the team - Thank you for all your advise and professionalism and help I would without doubt be more than happy to recommend Cubitt & West to anybody thinking of making a move.

Walking through Waterlooville and looking in estate agent windows, went into Cubitt and west as there was a really nice house in the window. got some great advice from Craig on how to start buying our first house, would 100% recommend going in to see them as he made the whole process seem easy .
