I am extremely disappointed with this agency. My family and I lived in one of their properties for a year, and despite being good tenants and having young children– they evicted us giving us 2 months notice to leave the house.Our landlord, who had our phone number, didn’t even bother to message us ahead of time that they were selling the flat. There were no offers of help, no alternatives provided, and no consideration for our situation. We were simply told to leave, left to figure out our next steps on our own.
During our tenancy, we faced numerous issues that the agency handled poorly. We had no light in the lounge for six months due to a leak, which they took an unreasonably long time to fix (6 months) the landlord offered us £20 to buy a lamp which did not adequately addressed the inconvenience that we have experienced.
The house was also damp during winter, making it uncomfortable to live in. To top it off, we discovered a gas leak on our first week of move in, posing a serious safety hazard.
Additionally, they will find all possible ways to deduct from our deposit, despite the fact that we have taken good care of the property and faced numerous inconveniences ourselves due to their neglect.
Their lack of empathy and consideration for our family, coupled with their inadequate response to maintenance issues and unreasonable expectations during our move, is appalling. They didn't offer any alternative solutions or assistance upon eviction, showing a complete disregard for the well-being of their tenants. They were consistently working in favor of the Landlord while we were always left to bear the consequences. I would strongly advise others to think twice before renting from this agency as they clearly prioritize their own interests over those of their tenants.

Wow what a difference a professional estate agent makes! After nearly 6 months of trying to sell my flat with another agent, Curchods managed to sell it to a proceedable buyer in less than a week. I must confess that I was not looking forward to moving out of the house that has been my home for the last 38 years, but that process was made so much easier by the friendly and professional service which I received from Leo, Richard Alex and Georgina.
I felt from the outset that I was in good hands and that did in fact prove to be the case throughout the whole process. It is so nice to deal with a business which always does what it says it is going to do. My phone calls were answered promptly and the issues I raised were addressed immediately. I was given informed and helpful advice and never felt pressured into anything.

Disappointed with how they handled my tenancy contract (throughout my stay but especially at the end). Lack of proper communication with the landlord as well as internally (i was moved to various agents that seemed unaware or uninterested). After 2 years of back-and-forth emails I gave up on being reimbursed or settle the tenancy fully. Under current management, I cannot recommend them for the future. I've been renting for over a decade across London and never encountered such disinterest in tenants.

I had a really seemless experience renting my new flat in Teddington from Curchods. Leah, the lettings manager and Rebekah, the senior lettings coordinator were brilliantly efficient without being pushy. The apartment was exactly how it was depicted online, which in my experience has not always been the case with rentals. Negotiations and follow up paper work were swift and when I collected the keys on moving day I found a fabulous welcome box packed full of goodies and useful vouchers plus a bottle of rose sitting waiting for me in the flat. Scott was really easy to do business with and he quickly improved the offer to asking price. I had agents from Teddington wanting to market the property who felt that Hampton Wick was their ‘patch’ but their knowledge of the area and understanding of key selling points was inferior to Scott’s. We interviewed several estate agents before appointing Curchods and we definitely made the right decision.
They were totally professional from the start, they organised a great selling/marketing strategy, including an interactive video so overseas/remote buyers could view the property, Our Buyer was in Hong Kong) and they were super attentive and responsive during the whole process.
Once we had selected a Buyer (from the viewings on the first day) they engaged with our solicitors (Shoosmiths LLP - Curchods have great working relationship with them and I would recommend them as well) they then appointed a dedicated sales expeditor/progress chaser to engage with all parties and provide weekly updates to us on the progress and any issues. This is a real plus and takes the stress out of buying and selling as you are always confident on what is currently happening and and what is needed to be done.

Goodness me, I don't think Curchod's could have done a better job! The house was initially shown, with Tom offering a discrete, knowledgeable viewing. I then went ahead, in what proved to be a very difficult purchase / sale - (my buyer pulled out at very late notice) - which caused troubles in what proved to be a lengthy chain: a potentially difficult situation, which Scott, in particular, managed with extraordinary grace, and expertise, and humour. I learned from this job that Sales Continuance is so important. Had someone been doing Scott's job, in my sale, the problems would not have happened. In fact we all finally completed on the pre-arranged day, and in a mood of humour and calm, which I really appreciated. I also loved the way that the team went above and beyond the call of duty, for example giving advice about Extensions, and recommending architects. Thank you team! You left a very grateful buyer!

I'm surprised I need to collect the key from the agent's office instead meet up at the new house. since all my friends received greeting from an agent at new house unfortunately not my case.
I went to my new house the next day after collected the key. When I opened the door, there's a strong urine smell, since the previous vendor did not remove the dog and the pet's toilet rack and their used blanket, and there are 3 packs of rubbish bags with worms around in the house. there's also some unfinished drink right behind the room door, when I open the room door, soft drink liquid splashes everywhere.
Anyway. I'm kind of disappointed with what I experienced on my completion date. I expect the property agent should have a responsibility to ensure the house pass to the new owner, should be in a clear and normal empty house but not messy.
The reason why I turned up at 9am on the completion date because I communicated with your team 3-4 weeks ahead regarding the date for the survey booking and the time start from 9.30am to 3.30pm. Your team replied "no problem", that's why I proceed with the booking on surveyor service.
When the date came, I email and call to confirm the date for the surveyor's visit, the agent said NO the day before at 6pm, and the surveyor team has booked a hotel in Kingston to get ready for tomorrow’s service. I strongly believe it's a communication problem.

Curchods helped me purchase a property on Tudor Drive Kingston. I'd been looking for a house for a year and a half and had two purchases fall through with other agents. By the time I found this house I was living in the Premier Inn (having already sold my previous house) and really needed it to go through!
Throughout the process I dealt with Al. I found him helpful, honest, friendly and easy to talk to. On the occasions Al wasn't free to talk to me, I found his colleagues including Joe, Marilyn and Scott extremely helpful and happy to pick up any enquiries for me.
My experience of Curchods was significantly better then the two other local agents I used for my failed purchases one of whom was dishonest, and the other (a well know local agent) rude. I chose Curchods Ham branch as they were local, I was expecting a friendly local service I got so much more! The sale started in December 2019, a purchaser was found in at the end of January 2020. All handled very well, it was good to know that I was dealing with a very professional team then Covid-19 too hold! What I imagined to be a hurdle too high was in fact not a problem for the team at Curchods, I must stress I felt it was a team effort with everyone being kept updated, as I live in France this was very important to me. The sale was finally completed in June 2020, I have nothing but praise for the way this was handled, I shall even miss chatting with John, Marilyn and Al. Having sold and purchased several properties these were the best estate agents I have ever encountered. In a normally stressfull time, which in these covid-19 times became a little difficult, it was a great relief having Curchods on my side, WELL DONE ALL.

Scott and Ken were extremely knowledgeable and helpful over an extended sale period due to Covid interventions. Very responsive to my queries and I couldn't have hoped for a better process given the extreme difficulties of the situation. They made great efforts to keep me informed, and perhaps most important for both buyer and seller, their predictions around price, timelines, and likely obstacles were correct in every instance. This clearly demonstrates the know the area and know what they're doing. I would recommend this company highly.

This was an enjoyable walk in the park. I first met Ken when I went to look at a flat being sold by Curchods. There was no pushy sales pitch. I liked that. He was courteous, pleasant and knowledgeable. I decided to get Curchods to sell my house. Every stage of the selling process was clearly organised. The photographs were of good quality and the text well written. The visits of potential buyers were well handled. Lights were reliably switched off after each visit and doors locked. I felt easy about going away. There was excellent feedback on each visit. The communication felt good. I felt at ease. The sale was quite quick helped no doubt by Curchods networking with potential client bases. Nigel took over from Ken. It was a seamless handover, both communicating well with one another and with me. In Nigel I found the same courtesy and competence, reliability and thoroughness as well as a nice American warmth and humour. I was away when the eventual buyer of my house made an offer. Nig el phoned and kept me fully informed. There were moments, especially towards the end, when the Solicitors were not always at their best. Pleasant enough people but sometimes slow off the mark. Nigel handled this aspect carefully and sensibly. Overall, this sale was a very good experience. Whenever I phoned the office, the office staff were pleasant, on the ball and really helpful. When messages were left they were picked up speedily. Both Nigel and Ken contacted me regularly. It was reassuring to know that they were on the case. Very importantly, they listened to me, to things I wanted and didn't want. Selling a house is a big thing to do and most of us have very little experience of it. I feel lucky that I just happened to encounter Curchods. And I'd definitely recommend them. I am very, very grateful to Ken and NIgel for everything they did. They made it the relaxed and pleasant experience that it was.

From a rental perspective it was the worst experience we had in London after renting many properties throughout the city.
Exorbitant starting fees (glad they won't be able to take advantage of people soon when the law changes), lack of communication and will try to charge ridiculous amounts for "damages" from your deposit; 50% of which we already notified them of via email when we first moved in that were missing from the check in report, but they'll try to charge you for regardless. Having said that, they did remove those costs when we pointed them out with attached proof.
Took us 3 weeks of daily chasing to get our overpaid rent refunded. Lied to us daily saying "it's been processed, you'll receive payment today" only to never receive the funds for weeks. I appreciate it's not a priority but don't lie and give a realistic timeframe. They're quick to take your money but not so good when giving back what you're owed!
Make sure to take tons of photos, the company they use for check in/ check out reports are not the best.
Have to say that despite this, Melanie, who was the property manager, was great and always very responsive.

I have to say I was very happy with the straight talking of Nigel on my first call to the office. When I met Benjamin on the valuation I was sure that this would be the team to sell the house for us. After lots of hardwork from the team Ken found us a buyer. I can wholeheartedly recommend this team of very professional estate agents. Leo is a bit of an archaic, stereotype of a lying estate agent. Gives off the pretence of being everyone’s best friend but I don’t think he’s ever heard of the word “integrity.” They operate out of a dingy office not even at street level. It’s hidden away above a shop, really dodgy setting but at least they aren’t trying to hide the fact they’re not up to standard. Give them a miss or regret it. You can take a hint from the fact this company has a total of 5-reviews!

Rebecca is really helpful in accommodating our negotiation/inspections during the negotiation process before the exchange of the contract. Without her the transaction may not be completed, although not everything went well but we thank her for her works and Curchods for doing the best they can. Curchods provided us with outstanding service during the sale of our property. We actually live about three hours drive away and it was impossible for us to be around. Our agent was always happy to help out, collecting mail and forwarding it on, keeping us informed of what was going on (much better than our solicitor) and calming nerves when things got jittery. From the moment of instructing them, we were impressed by Ben, whose manner and approach was way ahead of the competition. Ken directed and managed the sale of our house and did so with expertise and a high level of efficiency. He got us four offers in 24 hours and managed the whole process impeccably. He also chased everything up relentlessly and gave me daily information on the progress of the sale, keeping the chain tight at all times. We spent two years looking at property before finally settling on the right one and so got to know the agents in Kingston really well. In the end we were really glad that the one we eventually chose was a Curchods property as we had had dealings with them before and they had always been very professional and fair at the viewing and offering stage. This proved to be the case as we went through the whole process from viewing to completion, Jenny and Rupert were always on hand with advice and kept in touch throughout the process. I can only speak of my experience but Curchods were definitely one of the best to deal with.
