I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Richard and Barry at Hunters in Catford who managed my property sale and purchase.

I approached the task of moving home with a certain level of dread, and apprehensive about the whole process. Add to this what is often stated about this. It's easy to be put-off.

In reality, and I can confidently say that the service Hunters provided me with, not only met, but exceeded my expectations.

The valuation was concise, informative and ultimately very well placed. We had an offer within 4 weeks.

The ease of working and communicating with the team was effortless. And the areas where I lacked knowledge were managed and explained in easy terms with no jargon.

Richard Wells always made himself available and was helpful in every aspect. Always taking the time to respond to my enquiries, whether directly or indirectly related to the sale\purchase.

Barry Musk was always working hard to secure viewings and following-up and providing good feedback to improve and progress the process.

Although I mainly dealt with Richard and Barry, the ethos was the same throughout the business. Dedicated, hard-working and great customer service.

The effort required in moving home was made very bearable by Hunters and I would both recommend and use them again without hesitation.

We bought our new house in Catford with Hunters recently and were delighted with the service we recieved.

Barry our agent, as well as Richard in the office, we’re incredibly helpful with all our enquiries, particularly in terms of chasing up the sale at the top of the chain.

We would definitely buy (and sell) with Hunters again, as in addition to being great to deal with they also have an excellent knowledge of the SE6 area.

A not so good experience for me with this agency. Initially the guys are all upbeat and enthusiastic. Our family house was up for sale with Hunters for the full contract period (spring 2017). They valued the property for X amount, but 6-7 weeks later told to reduce the asking price well below the average for the area and for a property of similar spec. We had tenants in the property for 5 years, so there were cosmetic issues, but nothing too drastic that couldn't be sorted out (you get much dilapidated properties at auction). The agents seemed to highlight the negative points and exaggerate the work needed to prospective buyers (I thought they were supposed to be working for me?) So once they initially marketed the property they only took a few photos (3 I believe), but understandably that was because we had tenants in situ. Once they left, Hunters did not come back to take more detailed photos. Also a part of their service is a brochure pack.. they didn't do this either. During my contract with Hunters the wooden for sale board got pulled down (probably by a rival agent), they didn't replace the board (further reducing exposure to people going past). A worrying thing is that they seemed to pressure me to accept low offers (just to get a sale). There was this one female buyer who gave a silly offer and to be honest I don't even think she was genuine or serious. We managed to sell the house through another agent last August and at a price not too far off from the valuation. Luckily I'm clued up, but this experience has made me wiser. By all means go with them, but do your homework and don't let them undersell your house. After all it's your asset and you call the shots
