This review is written from my point of view, as with everything there are always 2 sides of the experience. I wanted to take the time to share mine, to warn and help future first time buyers and give an opportunity to the team at KF to improve.
TL;DR:
1. Do not sign any contracts and send personal documents just because an agent pressured you to do so without asking your solicitor
2. You don't have to go to the solicitor an agent is insisting on
- We bought our first property through Knight Frank; the agent attending to us was very responsive, easy to talk and extremely helpful, could be able to answer all our questions
- I was told that the owner of the property we bought was a very difficult person (?)
- We decided to put an offer and our offer was accepted at the listing price. We then got a call by the agent, saying that there is another cash buyer and we have to increase our initial offer by £15,000. We did and our offer was accepted for the second time.
- I guess we will never know if there really was a cash buyer, if they put an offer or not
- When choosing our solicitor, we chose a cheap one in Birmingham. The agent insisted us to use the one he is recommending and told us we won't be able to finish on time (we did)
My issues started after our increased offer was accepted.
- The agent called me and told me we need to put £10,000 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit to the owner's name and if we cannot complete the purchase in 6 weeks, we would lose that £10,000
- I naturally refused to pay a non-refundable deposit and at that point, the same agent that showed us the property started to shout at me on the phone (Where did this nice person go?) and then just hanged up when I was talking
- I contacted our solicitor and asked if this is a regular practice, solicitor strongly recommended against signing any contract of that sort
- Please note that this is not the deposit for the flat, this is a deposit until the contracts are signed, so that the seller would not accept another offer (of which will then go to the actual, legal deposit, if you can complete in 6 weeks miraculously)
- Then I received another call upon the completion of Memorandum of Sale, demanding our bank statements and proof of funds such as our private and confidential investments. I did not understand why this was required for the estate agent and I was pressured to send these immediately - via an email.
After I raised my complaints to the team, they were very understanding and apologetic; reading all of the positive comments they received, I feel very bad leaving a bad one. However, I hope my review helps people in the future.... Read more

Absolutely awful experience with Knight Frank. They let a property to us in Hampstead London for £850pw without a connected gas supply and without a gas safety certificate. We were supplied with one door key (despite 3 adults living at the property). We were not supplied with a access fob to the car park and weeks after moving in still don’t have one. The rear gate to the back yard has no key and has open access to the public.
There are an innumerate number of other problems (no TV aerial connection, dangerously attached light fittings, incomplete construction work, defective alarm system, broken air conditioning units etc).
Absolutely shocked that a company like Knight Frank would conduct business in such a manner. I reported to the head of the office, Mumzad and have not had an apology or acknowledgment of their failings. Shocking... Read more
