We’re happy to recommend Robsons of Amersham as we were impressed with the professionalism and efficiency of the agents who handled our sale. The regular updates were reassuring. We obtained quotes from five agencies but were astounded at the wide variance between them (a range of £150,000), however Robsons were the midpoint and their reasoning and analysis made the most sense. The fee charged by estate agents is a considerable expense in moving house but in our case Robsons negotiated a sale price higher than the guide price so we received good value.... Read more

I am so grateful to Richard and the team for all their hard work and perseverance on my nightmare of a house sale, and for turning in into a success! They found me a lovely buyers but due to some big oversights by my buyer’s agent (Chancellors) the chain was at risk of falling apart. Richard stepped in and ended up doing a lot of extra work to rescue it, even helping my buyers on various aspects of their house sale when their estate agent went AWOL. I found Richard very transparent and honest, with excellent knowledge of the local market. He updated me straight away on every development and gave me comprehensive advice throughout. The rest of the team were also organised and effective; they even knocked to check everything was ok when I left my garage door wide open since I’d told them I wouldn’t be around much. A cut above your average Estate Agents, Robsons were not only very professional, providing a comprehensive and detailed service, with constant feedback, they are really nice people too. If you haven't had much experience in buying and selling houses, you can easily sign the wrong thing, or misunderstand the implications. Robsons were entirely clear, honest and there were no nasty surprises. My thanks to Richard, Louise, Sophie and anyone else I may have forgotten the name of. If only my buyer's estate agents had been half as good! Additional: My first buyer subsequently 'fell through' when their sale was abandoned at the 'eleventh hour'. Robsons quickly picked up the baton and immediately found us another buyer. That 'sale' too started to present completion issues, there is little certain when selling property so we returned to market. Finally, on the third attempt, we found a buyer and the sale completed (5th August 2022), a year after first listing the property for sale. We got to know Robsons very well in that year, they were almost like family by the end of the process. The sale of our property had required patience and our faith in our agents to sell it for us. Anyone can sell a property in a hot market, our property was made more difficult to sell because of nearby HS2 workings. Robsons proved the right people to sell the house in that current market, where other agents had been full of negativity, they, and only they, saw the true value of our home.... Read more

We had a procession of estate agents to value our property and it was a simple task to pick the agent that we felt would best suit us. Richard immediately saw the key features of the property, while we felt that some of the competition were simply interested in a quick sale. It took a while to find the right buyer, in fact we had three before the sale finally completed. Getting an offer from someone is relatively simple when the market is hot, getting a completion requires that all the buyers in a chain manage to reach the same point at the same time. That didn't happen to us... twice. Throughout the process we were kept up to date with everything, Sophie was super to deal with, Richard too was a gem. Actually, the entire staff at Amersham were a delight to deal with, we have no hesitancy in saying that we wouldn't use anyone else, if selling in the area. My experience with Robsons Amersham was disappointing. James first was friendly and helpful. We then dealt with Sophie in the sale progression team, she was very difficult to say the least. Stories kept changing and blamed a lot on the sellers when she did not want to do the work. We were told things like the boiler was new and just been serviced but not aloud to check it over. We have now discovered it does not work. Viewings were made difficult with 15 minutes to check over the house a few weeks before exchanging (even when we agreed longer viewing times). Plus we had the agent reminding us every 2 minutes we only had a few minutes left. My phone calls would be cut off, words were twisted. She would moan about other clients like people who are buying multiple properties and they need to complete before going off on their holidays. There was little lies one after the other and was just clear she wanted an easy sale. They fail to realise that this is the biggest purchase we will make and it is not something we do everyday. The main reason for my review is that on the day of completion I received a call from Sophie saying. "It's Sophie from Robsons, you have completed. Go and get the keys" I then started to replied saying thanks etc, then noticed she hung up without congratulating us. I am a landlord and have worked with many estate agents and I felt Sophie made the sale extremely hard and there were many times we thought about pulling out. Overall it came down to little lies and taking advantage of peoples situations, making out that the sellers were the bad guys and they are going to pull out, which is why I don't recommend Robsons.... From the outset Robsons understood the market, valued sensibly and were able to identify the key selling points of our property. Other local agents had either under valued, leaving us wondering whether they were just seeking a quick sale, or valued at one price, only to then suggest putting it on the market for significantly less than they had valued it. Robsons sold our home, not once but twice, due to the first sale collapsing when the 'up chain' broke. The team inspired confidence, they are friendly and understanding.
