Chancellors - Amersham

Lexham House,14a Hill Avenue,Amersham

I had an wonderful experience at Chancellors in Amersham due to Shaun Haywood. Shaun showed us around a property in Little Chalfont last week, he was polite and knowledgeable, knowing all the answers to our questions. We have placed an offer on the house and look forward to working with him throughout the rest of the purchase. Jessica

The only positive experience I had when I dealt with Chancellors was with Helen she was very professional. Unfortunately she forgot to mention that she would not be personally dealing with the sale of our property. This was passed to another member of staff called Kate. Kate was a pleasant enough person but it soon became apparent that she didn’t come across as very confident in selling houses. She kept on asking me the same questions so this of course put doubt in my head with regards to her ability. After being told that they vet all their clients viewing properties we had two/three failed viewings - the clients didn’t turn up and no explanation was provided by Chancellors. Also there were two failed sales, first one, the couple put in an offer then two days later withdrew this offer but no explanation was given. With regards to the second one, the proceedings went as far as exchange at which point the buyer pulled out because they were wrongly informed of information about the property by Kate at the point of viewing. The buyer then tried to get his money reimbursed from us with regards to his surveyors report because of confidential information that he had received from Chancellors, I can only presume from Kate. However this information was not signed by me so Kate & Chancellors had produced information about my property that was incorrect & then tried to say that I had agreed to this. My Solicitors soon pointed this out to the buyer. Also the dealings I had with Chancellors head Office was the worst customer service that I have had by any company/person in about 20years. Anyway I left Chancellors after this incident (5 months in) and went with a local high street agent. The experience I had with the local high street agent was so much different .... it was excellent customer service .... within 24hrs of my property being up for sale, viewings were booked and it was sold within four days! My advice, don’t deal with Chancellors, take your business elsewhere, you won’t regret it.

Savills - Amersham

55 Hill Avenue,Amersham

I was more than happy in the manner h Savills handle the sale of my house. Even though it was slow at times, not the fault of Savills, they kept me informed of the progress of the sale at all times. The sale of one's house is a stressful matter at the best of times but the reassurance that I had from Savills helped to remove some of this stress

Very bad service especially from the buyer side . They don’t even respond to emails when we make an offer . I don’t know whether the offer is put forth to the seller.

John Nash & Co

I am having real a bad experience with this agency and will never recommend it to any one. They do not act promptly on any issues reported even if related to health and safety of the tenants. They do not respond to emails for weeks and take a lot of followup for response and take ages for any repairs. Moreover, they try all the tactics to make deductions from the tenant deposit and make up nonsense reasons and do not give any justification or evidence for that. I had to wait for 6 weeks to even get a response on my deposit refund and they made unjustifiable claims on deposit which I need to fight with them through Deposit Protection Adjudicator. Also, I am pursuing a complaint with them and the The Property Ombudsman for their unprofessionalism and not taking prompt action on health and safety issues for tenants. Not recommended at all. :(

The Frost Partnership - Amersham

59-61 Hill Avenue, Amersham

My experience of Frost Partnership has been excellent. My elderly mother was selling her house to move into a retirement apartment and, as you can imagine, it was a daunting prospect for her. Our main contact at Frost was Andrew H. and he couldn't have been kinder. He showed empathy towards my mother at every stage, almost treating her as if she was his own grandmother! He kept me informed of everything as it was happening, and when I had a query he acted on it straight away. I had absolute trust in Andrew and knew he had our best concerns at heart. So thank you!

Dreadful company. Avoid!!! Rented a house through Frost in Amersham, due to move in on the Friday, existing house all packed up, Frost hadn't arranged removal of existing furniture and so couldn't get entry to new property due to gross stupidity and planning. Had to store furniture until Monday costing £1000 and buy everything from a toothbrush to clean underwear to get through the weekend. Typical Frost washed their hands of it and refused to compensate. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ENJOY A HUGE AMOUNT OF STRESS!!!

Wilson Heal - Amersham

Nightingales Corner, Little Chalfont, Amersham

I have my 3-bedroom family semi-detached property where we have resided for over 25 years listed with Wilson Heal, one of the two Estate Agents in Little Chalfont village. I selected three local agents to pitch for the listing and after conferring with my son, a Location Accountant and my Financial Advisor, we selected Wilson Heal based on their friendly, frank, constructive approach and their competitive fee. Since listing the property at the end of June 2018, I've had a healthy number of viewings and two offers, both of which I rejected for being too low but it's a buyers market at present so they're trying it on and I know there will be other offers at a more representative rate. I'm not in any hurry to move so I'm sitting pretty until the right buyer comes along. Senior negotiators Mark Tibbles and Viv Jaques and occasionally company owner Johnathan Wilson, have been conducting viewings and showing people around 24 Loudhams Road . They're conveying my wishes and rejecting offers on my behalf where appropriate according to my guidelines which saves a lot of needless communication, a bonus when you have a busy lifestyle. The market, whilst vulnerable due to economic conditions appears to be picking up and I've been very happy with the number of viewings which Wilson Heal's marketing is generating. Mark, Viv and Johnathan are a delight to work with, as are the office staff. They're friendly, upbeat and very fair in their dealings with buyers and vendors. There's quite an art to notifying a vendor someone doesn't like their house because of x,y,z, especially for someone like me who has lived in their much-loved family home so long! Mark Tibble has proved a master in diplomacy and Viv Jacques has made it clear to potential buyers who for example offer derisory amounts at prices based on the market in 2015, that it wouldn't be acceptable to the vendor and indeed might irritate them to the degree they won't consider further offers. How true! Essentially they are employing my direct and unspoken requirements intuitively as they get to know me and my preferences better. They're very proactive, plus their attention to detail is excellent; monitoring market trends and stats which all helps to gauge whether to amend the price point accordingly in a fluctuating market to optimise viewings. In short a top team and highly recommended. Thanks to everyone, including the sales team and office staff. Here's to an offer I won't want to refuse :)

GetAgent makes finding an estate agent easier.

Very helpful in arranging for 3 agents to come around and put their pitch for marketing our property. Having them as an intermediary made the process...

A very good comparison website

A very good comparison website for checking local estate agencies. We used it to check who have sold the most in our area and the results were very useful to us.

It really helped my decision making

There are so many estate agents to choose from but they provided details with the numbers of houses each had sold in my area and which had achieved the asking price which I found most helpful

Mrs Heather Marshall

An amazingly easy way to choose your estate agent with total confidence. I did and among the many found the right one for my house. Speedy, responsive, considerate and effective. Thank you.
