My partner and I have recently sold a flat and brought a family home together in our local town through William h brown. We couldn’t fault their services at all, and found our dealings with William h brown were the most positive part of the whole experience.
The Valuation and initial chat was with Alex who was warm and friendly, made us feel comfortable and eased us into the process - answering all our questions as he went through the paperwork.
We organised to view potential homes with Rob and Chelsea over the phone who were both lovely and understood what we were looking for. Rob always offering more options and encouraging us to explore as many homes as possible in the area to find our dream home. Chelsea always made us feel welcome and comfy walking round a strangers home and we felt we could really be honest with our feedback about the viewings during each one.
The mortgage process was smooth and effortless with Daisy, who was so supportive and very thorough. She went through everything as slowly and as many times as we needed to really get our head around the figures and potential outgoings we would be committing to. I had so many questions and worries and Daisy was always so quick to respond and reassure me with all the information we needed. She also made sorting life and building insurance an easy process, as we had no idea! Having used a different mortgage adviser previously for the flat purchase, I can’t explain how much better the service was with Daisy. She was so easy to contact and I was never left in limbo wondering what the next step would be. We will definitely be using her services again for future remortgages and any movement we decide to make - though not for a long time!
We managed to purchase a beautiful 3 bed detached home on the David Wilson development after William h brown recommended we go and view the site! And we haven’t looked back since, the house is everything we could have wished for. During the process of purchasing, exchanging and completing on the purchase of our home we worked closely with Daisy, Sharon and Michelle with weekly phone calls, emails and meetings to make sure we were on track, get updates and keep the ball rolling!
Sharon was so kind and reassuring, and when her name popped up on my phone screen after a stressful call with the solicitors I would feel relieved that I would be having a productive and positive chat with her about it all, which chilled me back out again. The amount of support and progression sharon provided was amazing and we can’t thank her enough! Michelle works closely with the harwich team too, but is based in clacton and called us weekly too to update us, chase progression and steer us closer towards completion. It became like talking to a friend, as she was so Intune with what was needed and how to keep us calm throughout.
It’s almost strange not getting calls from Sharon, Daisy and Michelle now that it’s all completed, but we are so glad it’s all completed and we are all settled into our new home.

I've recently took on a tenancy threw William h brown in Harwich, from the very beginning Dan has been amazing, he's really gone above and beyond to make the process go smoothly.. Always friendly and super helpful, this has been a very stressful situation for me but Dan really put my mind at rest.. I've now had the new property just over a week and for some reason today my house key wouldn't work, I was locked out my property but more important my poor doggies were locked in and getting distressed, I called the office and within minutes Dan arrived at my property and sorted the situation out, so even after the tenancy was signed for and job complete Dan still went out his way to assist me... Great at his job and always happy to assist whenever he can.. Much Appreciated

Usually I wouldn’t be keen on buying lifetime ‘memberships’ to things like this but I will definitely be asking daisy for help again with my next remortgage, so the one off payment was really worth it.

Specially thanks to Daniel Morgan who was our letting agent and who along the whole process was so polite and kind; me and my partner , we feel so lucky that thanks toDanie we managed to move together and to be closer to each other; jsut in few weeks , after few emails from Daniel we had the keys! We had many twists and turns to the sale (which had nothing to with the estate agents) and it turned into a very,very long, drawn out process but made much easier with the help of Michelle, who in our opinion is fantastic! My experience with the Harwich Dovercourt Branch, and Robert Ellen, the Assistant Branch Manager in particular, is awful. Ellen actively advertised, discussed and booked appointments with myself to view houses that have already been sold.
When challenged on the sale status of the properties, he cancelled the viewings and said "they are sold". These properties are still currently listed as "available" on William H Brown's Harwich Dovercourt website and Rightmove. When I rang the auction-site direct, I was told that one of the properties was sold months ago. To make matters worse, Ellen then proceeded to automatically book viewings for other properties on his books that I hadn't requested.
I have taken dated screenshots of all properties and kept all emails on file. I will be reporting Ellen and the Harwich Dovercourt Branch to the National Association of Estate Agents, Propertymark and Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.
This branch have wasted my time by pretending to sell houses that are already sold. To deliberately mislead a potential buyer about a property is unethical. If I could sum up my experience with Robert Ellen and his team at Harwich Dovercourt, all that's left to say is .. Buyer Beware.

What can I say. Honestly the worst estate agent I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I called and emailed multiple times to request viewings on properties and have been ignored, belittled and lied to on multiple occasions. At one point I was booked in to view a property with them, and was told with barely 4 hours notice that it was not for sale and 'should never have been showing on Rightmove anyway' only to see it showing as "sold subject to contract" some 24 hours later! What was going on there? When I did actually get to view a property, the manager David was rude, unprofessional, knew nothing about the property and made no attempt to answer any of my questions. Overall an awful experience, seller beware, a terrible company.

When we first viewed our new home, we were met by Daniel Bennett of the Harwich branch. He welcomed us into the home, explained about the social distancing measures for covid and proceeded to show us around the home. Daniel took pride in his job as well as the house we were viewing. We spoke to him continuously throughout the view and answered all the questions we had with ease.
We decided we wanted the house that night so left Daniel a voicemail out of hours. The following morning, Daniel promptly contacted us and gave us further details; since then he has been a non stop help, answering all queries and contacting the landlord when we requested or if he didn't know an answer. The stress and hassle this company are causing me is beyond a joke, been out of contract over 6 months & give them a chance. to be treated this way at the end, Oh and im Best part of £2.5k out of pocket for playing there merry little games. Never had an experience like it in my life, For some reason they are dragging heels causing as much undue stress as they can. I really would think twice before signing up, as you will find yourself in maybe the same situation Currently under review by the property ombudsman.

Unfortunately through no fault of the agents, three sales fell through but Michelle was absolutely superb in getting new viewings arranged within hours of buyers pulling out. She really knows the local market, her housing stock and her applicant database and doesn’t waste time getting unsuitable viewers round just to get her viewing numbers up. I would highly recommend Michelle particularly as she builds a great rapport with you and even though she must have lots of clients, she makes you feel extremely valued.

We are very grateful to David Coates whose experience and conveyancing knowledge were instrumental in facilitating the exchange on a relatively long chain that we were in. Despite him not being our agent ( David was in fact acting for a seller at the start of the chain) he was always willing to help during what had been a tricky legal process during the exchange, with a professional and 'can-do' attitude.
