I have LOVED working with Abbey Barwick during our house buying journey. I have never met someone so committed to getting the best deal for their client. As first time buyers the process of searching and applying for mortgages can be daunting but I never felt that once with Abbey! She literally explained everything in great detail and was patient with us whenever we had a question. I'm upset the journey is coming to an end as we complete very soon but I can honestly say the process wouldn't have been so quick and pain-free without her. Plenty of choice out there...I would recommend you choose someone else.
We recently went with WH Brown to sell our house...
Gave us all the spill how great they are..so we signed up....got the house on line quickly etc and we did get an offer from a neighbour and they also went with WH Brown to sell there house..big mistake too!
But then they forgot about us...no sales progresser to keep us up date, never answer there emails or answer the phones...so no communication at all after offer excepted and a very stressful few months, but we did sell our house I guess.
And don't waste your time complaining...my response from the Branch was 'i think you are trying to get a discount' I paid my bill in full and now she will not respond to me... unbelievable customer service ????

March 2023 I requested to view a number of properties with William H Brown but they kept saying they would speak to the landlords and get back to me but never did.
I called them and asked if I had been black listed because I could not understand why no one was coming back to me with available dates to view. 3 houses had now come and gone. The young lady I spoke to apologised and said she had written my number down on a post it note and had meant to call me back but hadn't.
A while later I made one last attempt to view another house with William H Brown. The young lady who showed us around was Makena from the Ipswich Branch. She was very friendly and patient with us as we looked around the house. Later that day I put in an application for the property and secured it. Makena was going for a promotion and asked if I would give her a google review to help support this. I was happy to as I felt bad for being annoyed with them for their previous lack of help, and was so delighted to have finally found a house.
The property I had submitted an application for had furniture in it and I expressed over 3 separate emails that I would like all the furniture gone before signing the Tenancy Agreement and that this was a deal breaker for me. I would not sign a TA and pay a deposit if the house were to remain part furnished.
I dealt with Makena, Dan and Matt from the Ipswich office. Makena assured me on more than 1 occasion, and in writing, that she had spoken with the Landlord and that all furniture from the house had been removed so I signed the TA feeling happy this had been done.
I collected my keys from William H Brown and even signed up to a home insurance deal Makena had asked me to do. I was really pleased with her help.
I then went to the property with my moving van and was extremely upset to see that all the furniture was still in the house and I was unable to move into the property. I called Matthew and Makena in the Ipswich branch to discuss this with them but they kept saying Makena was on another line and could not take my call. I held numerous times and waited for her to be available but they again came back to me to say she was busy. I emailed Makena advising her that all the furniture was still in the property and she said as I had the landlords telephone number I had to take it up with him now. I responded asking for my TA to be amended since I was unable to move into the house and was sent an abrupt response saying this was not possible as I had signed the contact. I tried calling her twice more but she would not return any of my calls.
I spoke to the landlord and was advised that Makena had not discussed this issue with him and we have now arranged for me to give the furniture to a charity.
I am disgusted at this sales tactic from these members of staff at William H Brown and really hope this does not happen to anyone else.

That is until I saw my dream property on right move. After my viewing I booked an appointment with Imogen from the Ipswich branch. I'm telling you I was blown away with her perfect balance of professionalism and customer rapport.

One of the reasons I decided to go with William H Brown is because Toby who came to value our home was very approachable, I had a few valuations done and as a shy person myself I found some of the other agents from different companies very in your face and it overwhelmed me and made me feel uncomfortable, but I felt comfortable with Toby. Our agent Reece who did the viewings of our home was also very easy to get along with and I felt safe around him and trusted him in my home, I have two young children so I definitely wanted to feel this way with an agent. He is only 21, but I felt he was very professional and made sure that he knew everything about my property and that he covered everything for each viewing. I spent some time with him in between viewings and as I said before I am very shy, I also have autism, so can find interactions overwhelming, but he made me feel very comfortable and was easy to talk to, which I appreciated. He was very friendly and made me feel at ease with everything, he also made sure to get us feedback and was very good with advice on the sale of our home. The agents in the office were very helpful and friendly, they made sure to get us many viewings and they would make sure to fit around me and my family. Everyone We accepted an offer within three weeks and at a price we are very happy with. The only criticism I have is with their legal team where there was a miscommunication, which lead to a few weeks of wasted time on their forms and in the end I had to go else where because they couldn’t work on my case, but I did find their website very easy to navigate and was happy with the price I would have received if I could have used them. Overall I am happy with my experience.

She was professional throughout and helped us move things forward without ever being pushy. Bit of a delay in writing this due to the house move but in January, I put my house on the market with an online estate agent which was a pointless exercise. I then decided to go with a newly set up independent agent, who tried, but they just didn’t have the experience, professionalism or know how and we ended up losing out on a house we really liked. I was adamant I wasn’t going with a high street agent due to the high fees but once we found a house we fell in love with, we needed to move quickly. I called William H Brown in Ipswich and within days they had been out, measured, photos and given us a draft of what the ad would look like. Before it even went live, they had 2 viewings arranged. Within a week, we were sold. Penelope Froggett was fantastic and her response time was superb. She was patient and knowledgable and a real angel to deal with. Lil, the manager was fabulous too and no matter what, she and Penelope were friendly and professional and seemed that they really cared. I was quite stressed but both Penelope and Lil knew exactly the right approach and did all they could to help. The fees are high but they do get the job done and after being disappointed and frustrated twice with two other agents (who couldn’t even get the measurements, spelling or plans right) WHB came in like super heroes and got the job done in record time. I don’t want the stress of moving again but if I was mad enough to, I would go with them and not even bother with online agents or independents (selling or buying). I would have given 5 stars but for the property lawyers WHB recommend; Premier Property Lawyers. They are shocking and I feel disappointed that WHB are so professional yet they recommend the worst property lawyers ever. We had no end of problems and delays due to PPL and their lack of conveying knowledge and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend them ever. If WHB could find a better lawyer to hitch their wagon to, they would be 5 star all day.

After being badly let down by another estate agent, we turned to WH Brown or should I say Lil Maile the branch manager. She said she would sell our property and she did twice over after one sale fell through.. Throughout what seemed like a very long process from initial sale to completion, she did all should could to maintain our confidence constantly reassuring us that things would work out which they did. She always responded to all our questions and concerns and went the extra mile to do so especially when it came to driving the exchange and completion process involving five parties.

Abbey has been amazing all the way through as this is our first time buying a house. She found us the best mortgage deal and has kept in touch all the way through. Due to covid things have taken longer than normally expected and our mortgage did need to be extended which she also did immediately for us. Most people say buying a house is the most stressful thing you can do but not with Abbey she has kept us informed and up to date the whole time which has really took the pressure off. Booked a viewing today, Saturday 10:30am.
Got a taxi to the site.
Waited until 10:45, called, they told me the car was broken, and someone else would come in 5 mins.
15 minutes after, I call, same excuse, they call me back tell me the view time is over and asked me if I missed some car. I was there since 10:15, no car came other than the owner which I spoke and had no idea that there was viewings booked. They offered me to pay the taxi fare back, I refused, I don't want their money, or any deals with them. They don't respect you, they lie, and they waste your time.

William H Brown along with my broker, were the shining lights in my property purchasing experience. It was my first property purchase so I expected a few issues, but it was worse than I'd anticipated. Lil and Toby were on the case, talking with my awful solicitors and mortgage provider letting them know who was boss (They won't forget anytime soon either). They worked really well with my broker, and me. I have no doubt that without the team at William H Brown, I wouldn't have a house at all.

My husband and I had an exceptional level of service provided by William H Brown recently. We thought it was going to be very stressful selling a property that we were letting out and trying to find a new family home. From the start Kev was very flexible and worked around us to come out and value our property. He was really open with us and made suggestions on the things we could do to ensure a quick sale. We originally put the house on the market but as the house needed some internal decorating Kev arranged for us to have some additional pictures taken for a website repost. As a result of the repost this attracted more viewings which subsequently led to the sale. Kev was easy to get hold of and we quickly built up a nice relationship.
William H Brown kept us informed regularly and the other special mention we would like to give is for Lil. She was able to understand our personal needs and helped us seek the buyer of the house which we subsequently sold. She touched base often to see how things were going and also made us aware of properties that met our search criteria before they were listed on the website. Lil responded to all of our enquiries (and there were several) in a timely manner and I felt we were on the same page. She reassured us that everything would work out for us. We purchased a house very shortly after we sold our property through a suggestion made from Lil. We have a lot to thank her and the team for and we look forward to moving into our new family home next week!

For Prospective Tenants:
Please avoid at all cost. Booked an appointment and never got a confirmation. Already told them I have to travel long distance to view as I am relocating so had to really make sure I can view it (unless someone offered before that). Call them up a day before to confirm the appointment whether we will still go ahead but told me I'm not in their diary. Gave me plenty of reasons that the don't have the key etc etc and said will check with the current tenant and get back to me but never did. Even stop answering my phone call all together. First time encountered such unprofessional estate agent.

From start to finish, WH Brown Ipswich have been really great. A very special thanks to Lil, assistant manager - she was a star and followed up on everything that was needed. Without her help and perseverance, our house move could have been much more stressful than it was as she and her team took control for us.
You cannot go wrong with this team as they are very switched on in what they do, and customer service within the Estate Agency business is normally not the best, but again, this is where they succeed where other Estate Agent companies fail.
We would very much recommend WH Brown and Lil to look after your sale/purchase - a great team!

Ross was fantastic with his support. He answered every question, made the experience stress free and managed to take away and hesitation or doubt I felt.
He dealt seamlessly with a difficult situation in which he arrived to my home to simply take pictures to advertise a house to let, but left having met with new prospective tenants, having taken all relevant documentation and initiating an agreement. He managed to set up the agreement to ensure that having only met the new tenant Saturday, they were moved in by the Wednesday.
He dealt with both myself and my partner to assist out needs and above this, he was relatable and made the process reassuring and carefree. His welcoming nature was very much appreciated when meeting with us all and thanks to him, I am now living in my new home with my partner very happily.

Based on property management experience.
I was charged a fee that was NEVER disclosed to me and is not shown anywhere in my management contract. When I asked the letting manager (Jake) to point me to the line in my contract or when I agreed to this charge I was never provided an answer. In the end I was just told that it was the way it was and that there was no appeal possible. I find that it is very bad practice. No appologies and nobody is owning to their own mistake.
If it wasn't for the exceptional service provided by his colleagues from another office who actually manage my flat I would be looking at moving the management of my property away from WH Brown.

With this having been the first time dealing with William H Brown (Ipswich), I am appalled with the service that myself and my partner have encountered. At first, when calling to book a viewing of one of their properties, the service was very friendly and efficient. The lady I dealt with on the phone (Lil or Lillie) asked plenty of questions and booked in the appointment quickly, keeping me informed as she arranged it. However, any service thereafter dramatically deteriorated.
Myself and my partner viewed one of their properties on the market, and made an offer on the same day only a couple of hours after the viewing. When calling William H Brown to make the offer, the response was not as I had expected. I was informed that not only did she believe that the offer would not be accepted, but that there was also another offer that had been made and that they were using the financial/mortgage services of William H Brown. I was told that for my offer to be put forward, I would therefore need to go down to my local branch to speak to their advisors.
I explained our situation, that we have a mortgage broker already in place and that we were happy with his services and he could provide the confirmation that they needed in order to put forward our offer. This then lead to 2/3 more phone calls on that day demanding us to still go into branch, resulting in a ‘dispute’ in which lead me to believe that our offer could not be put forward without visiting them, and that the other offer that had been made was much more likely to secure the property than we were. Within a very short amount of time after the last phone call, I received another informing us that both offers had been declined, leaving us questioning as to whether the offer was even put forward in the first place.
The second point of contact was with the same employee, to whom I put forward a higher offer only to be accosted with the same quick opinionated response of ‘I don’t think she will accept that offer’, and that she will get back to me in regards to the offer.
The final point of contact was a day and half later, having not heard anything since making the secondary offer to be told that the other offer was accepted on the property and no more could be done. We believe from the moment we made our first offer and informed them that we would not be using William H Brown's mortgage services that we were at a disadvantage and treated totally unfairly, and strongly question as to whether our offers were even put forward to the vendor. The entire situation was controlled, manipulated with the estate agents simply using delay tactics in order to get the other people offering (using your services!!) the property.
As first time buyers, having the experience of making offers for a property with the chance of potentially securing our first home, is in our view an exciting time, only to be hindered by this estate agent. It is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that we will be viewing any property marketed through William H Brown again, and will certainly not be using their services if we were to sell. Not only that, we will be sure to let others around us know of this poor service and the 'entrapment' of having to use your mortgage services.
