Conveyancers are bad, but the biggest problem with home buying and selling in the UK are estate agents, and Peter Alan - Swansea branch are a huge testament to this.
Poor communication, drive over 300 miles and stayed a night over to view a property then got a 'phone call' on the morning of the viewing. The phone call mysteriously didn't come thorugh, but rest assured, it "...is showing it went through on our systems"
They sent me so many messages and requests to confirm the viewing days before the viewing, why not do the same with people staying at the property...?
Also being literally forced to 'qualify' my offer, was also I think boderline illegal trade practie, because it wasn't really qualifying, (sending through bank statements/ID/decision in Principle is perfectly legitamate) no, what this was, is forcing upon me their in-house mortgage broker, I suppose for the fee's they would get
Terrible indictment of the estate agent trade

The initial valuation was far too high, consequently we had to reduce twice. We eventually moved to another agent. I was told the cost would be 1.1%, then the contract (when I eventually got it) gave a fixed fee. To be fair, a couple of the agents at PA Black were lovely, others not so helpful.

A week ago, we arranged a valuation visit with the Pontypridd office. They indicated that their Aberdare office handled Abercynon properties. Thinking it un-necessary, we didn't call to confirm this morning and when no one turned up I called the Aberdare office. The person assigned to do the valuation isn't in today and between the Aberdare and Pontypridd offices they failed to contact us. Very frustrating and unprofessional. Expected better of a well known company

My neighbour is selling her house with Peter Alan and as I’m looking to sell mine I contacted Peter Alan on the website. When they called I was driving which you could clearly hear. I asked if they could drop me an email so I could contact back with dates for a valuation. This is when the man I was speaking to got pushy and rude. Asking when will you contact, what days can you do, again I said I’m driving I can’t check my work calendar until I stop, again rudely the man started saying well we get booked up quick so when, again had to say I’m driving drop me an email and I will book in, I will sort when not driving but again pushing for appointment and very rudely said but we get booked up, in the end had to end the call as wasn’t listening and the attitude was ridiculous. Have no interest in dealing with them now.

Good agency team, progression team is OK.
Would be 4 stars but not even an email to say "thank you for your instruction" after paying £3,500 for their agency services.
