15th Oct 2024 (7 mo. ago)I recently rented and sold a flat with bridgfords Washington and unfortunately I’ve been left very disappointed with the service provided. Bridgfords were noticeably more expensive than competitors (I.e. 40% premium on other estate agents) and the service provided when selling the flat was poor overall. When I’d call their offices I would either not be able to get through or would be promised a callback which wouldn’t materialise which was very frustrating. The sale of my flat took 10 months with no chain and it realistically shouldn’t have taken anywhere near this long. A lot of the delays were caused by unresponsiveness either by bridgfords or by their recommended solicitors (which were also unresponsive and expensive compared to competitors). This poor service was disappointing and could have largely been avoided. Without emails/calls chasing there were weeks which would pass when nothing progressed. I was advised by bridgfords to end tenancy (2 months notice) as I was under the impression that completion was imminent, after tenants moved out the flat was empty for nearly 2 months which increased unnecessary costs of owning the vacant flat. Unfortunately at this stage I wouldn’t recommend using bridgfords.
30th Oct 2024 (7 mo. ago)Talking from a landlord's perspective, did not have good experience from start to finish. Multiple issues when tenants were in and even unresolved issues 3 months after tenants left. Would not recommend as a landlord. UPDATE: Nicole from Chester-le-street branch has been helpful. Managed to sort out issues after speaking to her. Main problem is with Reeds Rains central management team. Unfortunately, Chester-le-street branch is attached to the central team and lettings management are done under central team. Hence bad experience overall despite good branch service.

Communication between myself and the office was fantastic, a well set up team in Hunters Fulwell. An offer was accepted within 48 hours. Thank you to the Hunters Fulwell Team.
30th May 2025 (15 days ago)As a famil we had an excellent experience with Bridgfords Letting Agency, thanks in large part to Carrie Rutherford, who managed our tenancy process with impressive professionalism and warmth. From our initial viewing through to finalising the paperwork, Carrie was consistently approachable, responsive, and thorough. She was particularly patient with all our questions during both the first and second viewings as well as the clarification questions I raised regarding the tenancy agreement, taking the time to explain everything clearly, responding to emails point by point and never making us feel rushed or burdensome. That kind of calm and attentive support made what can often be a stressful process feel far more manageable. Carrie clearly knows the ins and outs of her role and brings a personal, considerate touch that’s rare to find in the property world. I’d wholeheartedly recommend Bridgfords to anyone looking for a reliable letting agency—and if you have the opportunity to work with Carrie, you can be confident you’re in excellent hands. I am hoping to receive the same quality of service during my tenancy, as Bridgfords will be servicing the property for rental payments, repairs and maintainance.

18th Mar 2024 (1 year ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
20th May 2025 (25 days ago)After experiencing multiple disappointing experiences with below standard estate agents (estate agents who have been slack, failed to respond, failed to acknowledge a buyers interest, being forgotten about, unresponsive, and generally "not bothered") my experience with Pattison's Houghton branch, (Hilary Dodds - thank you!) has been a breath of fresh air! Finally, an estate agent that actually WANTS to SELL houses. Every time I had a question about, "reasons for selling", "is the price negotiable", "what's the rental potential".. etc. they had an answer - or they took the time to find out and ACTUALLY get back to me (something that most estate agents in my experience, failed to do). The swiftness in communication and the readiness of the team, is truly the standard all estate agents should aspire to. Very professional and prompt. I hope all investment opportunities I find, are listed with Pattison!

1st Feb 2020 (5 years ago)We found Your Move - Houghton-le-Spring to be a very professional and efficient estate agency. From first contact, the valuation, photography, brochure preparation, first viewing and receipt of an offer for full asking price took less than 3 weeks. Sales Manager Rachel Smiles was especially helpful in giving advice on content of the sales brochure and her friendly staff in arranging the 2 viewings by first interested party. We would highly recommend this agency to value and sell your property quickly at its true market value.
