16th Feb 2022 (4 years ago)Worst company imaginable. Gave us misinformation for over six months regarding entry dates and also told us development was finished when it was not. Double check everything you are told by them. They misled us and we ended up over £18000 out of pocket. Avoid this company at all cost. They don’t admit liability for anything they do.

19th Sep 2024 (2 years ago)Really poor experience of being a buyer through Remax, the house purchased was not as described or accurate according to Home Report. On entry to our home, no message to wish us all the best, no hot water, all the heating needing changed and based on the description was disgraceful. We asked questions at the viewing and told all was working and there hadn't been a leak which there had and now having to pay £10k on heating which was reflected as a '1' on the home report. TBH I don't think they asked the sellers any real questions and just marketed, took the money and moved on.

Alyson was always at the other end of the phone or email if we needed to ask anything. Such a lovely person to deal with at a time that should be stressful. Thanks again for everything!
15th Nov 2021 (4 years ago)This used to be a decent enough place until they employed idiots during the pandemic. The Shirley one who started in 2021 is particularly rude and obnoxious. She simply will not answer emails or return calls. Nothing professional about her at all but I guess when you pay peanuts you get monkeys! ???????

6th Feb 2023 (3 years ago)If it was possible, I'd have given Abbey Forth zero stars. Here's my experience with them: The place I rented from Abbey Forth had not been cleaned when I moved in. It was in a disgusting state with several broken fixtures. I took many photos and informed them that, because I was having to clean my new flat, I wouldn't be paying for the place to be professionally cleaned when I moved out. Throughout my year at the property, they were unprofessional and unhelpful when other problems arose: trying to charge me for boiler repairs (a boiler which was leaking on day 1), failing to resolve a drainage issue outside the kitchen door and, worst of all, falling to resolve an infestation of slugs in the kitchen - an obvious health hazard. When I moved out, they unsurprisingly tried to deduct £190 from my deposit for cleaning. I successfully disputed this charge with the deposit scheme, using the pictures and emails I'd sent them over the length of the tenancy. The deposit scheme found that, as the property was not cleaned to a good condition for the start of the tenancy, that I should only having to pay £60 In summary: Abbey Forth is the worst estate agent I've ever used. Rude staff and a general ethos of trying to squeeze money out of tenants for as little effort as possible. Only sign up with them if you are desperate and have no other options. If this is the case, then please make sure you document everything for inevitable struggle to get your deposit back

25th Sep 2026 (5 weeks ago)We sold our flat through Coulters in 2026 and had a fantastic experience with the company, and everyone we engaged with in the valuation and selling teams. Coulters helped us get ready for the sale, arranging photography and sales brochures, which came out really well thanks to lots of guidance from their side. After we got our sales particulars ready, it took us a while to make the decision that we were ready to put our flat on the market, but Coulters put no pressure on us over that period of time, and instead continued to advise us and discuss our sales strategy, including when might be the optimal time to put our property on the market, so we can be in a position to buy a new property with a minimal chain/not having to rent in between. Our main contact at Coulters was Francesca Hill who supported us from the first time of reaching out to Coulters, up to the point of unpacking boxes in our new home. Francesca's advice throughout the whole process was truly invaluable, especially in the highly competitive property market in Edinburgh, and we appreciated how professional, experienced and constructive Francesca was. Selling/buying a new home is stressful, but doing it with someone like Francesca on the other end of a phone/email really makes a huge difference.

From the very beginning of my home-buying journey right through to collecting the keys, the service I received from Kirsty and her husband Gavin was absolutely exceptional.<br><br>They are both incredibly friendly, professional, fair and attentive. What really stood out to me was how much they genuinely care about both the buyer and the seller. They always made sure everyone was treated fairly, kept things moving smoothly and were there whenever we needed help, advice or reassurance.<br><br>Buying a home can be a stressful experience, but their kindness, communication and attention to detail made the whole process so much easier. They went above and beyond what I would normally expect from an estate agency, and it was clear that they genuinely take pride in what they do.<br><br>One of the nicest touches was when we collected the keys. They had prepared a lovely handwritten card and some chocolates for us. From start to finish, the service was excellent, and a special thank you to Robert, who made what could have been a stressful process feel so much easier.<br><br>Robert was always friendly, professional and approachable. No question was ever too silly, and nothing was ever too much trouble. He was supportive throughout, kept me informed every step of the way, and genuinely cared about making the whole experience as smooth as possible.<br><br>What really stood out was the personal service. I never felt like just another client, and there was none of the pompous attitude you can sometimes encounter.
