Chris, Elen, Magnus & the team were all involved throughout the entire process and made what can be a stressful process as easy as it could be. 22nd Jan 2026 (16 weeks ago)The whole team at Arkwright’s in Saffron Walden have been a joy to work with. From initial contact, to the sales details - including a very inventive video, made on the only rainy day for weeks and weeks with a ‘Singing in the rain’ sound track! l had several viewings in the first week and an agreed sale within around 2 weeks ( after having been with another agent for 4 months with no viewings at all) The whole process has been easy, efficient, profession, respectful and friendly. I would highly recommend them and especially if you have a slightly quirky property. Thanks to all.

Darren was spot on for the valuation and Lucy kept me proactively up to date throughout the process, including when a buyer unexpectedly pulled out, after which they gave maximum effort to secure another. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again although I hope we won't be moving for a while!

He was always available to show us around the property while we decided if it was the right move for us and responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had in purchasing this grade2 building. He liaised quickly & effectively between us & our seller keeping us all up to date at all times and answered all our questions. I genuinely felt Mark cared & thanks to him we are now settled into our new home. I highly recommend Mark.

8th Mar 2026 (9 weeks ago)When I moved in originally I gave a 5* review. Once they had my money they stopped communicating, wouldn’t do the things they said they would, passed blame around and never took accountability, did not follow their own policies when it came to repairs. It got to the point where we had to threaten legal action if they did not get the repairs done. Our landlord failed to provide enough keys and so we were told we had to pay to make copies ourselves. We had many issues with the property and Tucker Gardner was no help. They lied to us prior to signing the lease and went back on promises they had made. It has been over a month since we moved out and we still have not received our deposit. Communication is terrible at Tucker Gardner. I am truly disappointed that what started out as a great relationship quickly turned sour. Our landlord also had his own struggles with them not providing the services he was paying for. Don’t work with TG Lettings, they’re dishonest and they don’t care once they have your money.

From the start, their communication was excellent, we received regular, honest updates and useful feedback throughout the entire process. They did a fantastic job presenting our home. The photos were high quality and really highlighted the best features of the property, and it was clear they took the time to properly understand the house ahead of viewings. What really stood out is that, unlike many estate agents who tend to go quiet unless there’s a viewing, Villager Homes genuinely delivered on their promise to be proactive. We always felt informed and supported, not left wondering what was happening. After the sale was agreed, Ana in particular went above and beyond. She worked incredibly hard to keep us updated on everything happening across the chain, especially during times when communication from other parties was slow or unclear. That made a huge difference and really helped reduce the stress. Overall, we were really pleased with the experience. The whole team were friendly, professional, and consistently went the extra mile to help wherever they could. We’d highly recommend them.
