5th Mar 2026 (30 days ago)Appalling handling of tenancy deposit — avoid We vacated our property at Masters Court, Harrow on 30 January 2026 in good condition, and over a month later we have still not received our deposit back. The handling of this entire process by Connells has been deeply disappointing. Despite sending multiple emails and attempting to call numerous times, we have received nothing but vague responses saying they are "still liaising with the former landlord." No clear timeline, no transparency, and no accountability. Phone calls have gone unanswered, and no direct contact number has been provided despite requests. The items flagged in the checkout report are standard fair wear and tear under TDS guidelines — minor wall marks, limescale build-up typical of Harrow's hard water, None of these justify withholding our deposit. To make matters worse, wife is 24 weeks pregnant, and the unnecessary financial stress caused by this prolonged delay has had a real impact on her mental health and wellbeing. This is completely unacceptable. We have now raised a formal dispute through the tenancy deposit scheme, which should never have been necessary. We have never experienced such poor deposit handling with any previous letting agency. If you are a prospective tenant — be warned. We would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

25th Mar 2026 (10 days ago)I have recently let my flat out in North London with Hamptons and the process has been seamless thanks to Haiden Roeger - Senior Head of Lettings. She is exceptional at her job. Haiden's communication skills on all levels are outstanding and the professional yet friendly approach with which she operates is outstanding. Haiden takes the time to understand her clients' needs and delivers on this. She easily builds trust which made me feel fully supported throughout the entire process. Haiden has exceeded my high expectations and couldn't have impressed me more with the level of service and expertise she offers. If you are looking to let your property, I would not hesitate to recommend Haiden at Hamptons.

Mariam has been so incredible my parents sadly had water leak at residential property I need to find them alternative accommodation Mariam has stayed in touch until she found them the perfect place to rent. She kept me up to date from start to finish making this such a smooth process for my parents at such a difficult time and she is so polite and professional absolute asset to the company and I work for Lloyds banking group so recognition is so important when you have been given attention and service like this I would recommend Mariam and Charles Henry Peppiatt for helping find the ideal place but without Mariam being so efficient this would have not been so easy. I will definitely give her details to anyone I know looking for property.

Jan Kolasa of their St John’s Wood Office and Ciprian from Clifton Road have been truly exceptional … nothing has been too much trouble ; they have been diligent , most polite and thoroughly efficient at all times. They are amazing assets to Chesterton. Searching for a suitable property to rent can be an onerous experience but Chesterton with the help of the two such exceptional professionals has made this process a delightfully pleasant experience. Very well done indeed !

30th Mar 2026 (5 days ago)My partner and I have just bought a flat through Dexter’s Finsbury Park. Ronnie and AJ were absolutely fantastic in helping two first time buyers navigate our flat purchase. They were communicative, transparent and approachable, willing to answer any question, no matter how silly it felt. We could not have wished for a better agent to guide us through the process and would happily work with them again - although hopefully not for a while! :)
18th Mar 2024 (2 years ago)DO NOT SELL YOUR BUSINESS THROUGH THIS COMPANY! READ THE SMALL PRINT This company are extremely aggressive and unprofessional. We advertised a business with them, paid an huge fee to advertise. Later after terminating, we agreed investment (not even a sale) from an investor we met directly, who was never introduced by Hilton Smythe. After accepting investment after terminating with Hilton Smythe they demanded their commission!! Totally unreasonable given it was after termination and the person who invested in our business was never known to or introduced by Hilton Smythe! They are now behaving aggressively and threatening legal action. We in turn have reported them to the ombudsman and trading standards. They are snake oil salesmen. DO NOT DEAL!
