6th Apr 2026 (29 days ago)I was interested in a studio flat in Stamford let by Murrays Oakham. The whole experience was stressful and unprofessional from the outset. The agent, Eleanor Burge, initially claimed that the property wasn’t available anymore but a few days later changed her mind because she said she didn’t like the sound of the tenant who had secured the property. In order to obtain the tenancy I had to pay 7 months’ rent in advance, plus a deposit and credit check fees because I had been living overseas, despite the fact that I had an employment contract with an income that was more than adequate to cover the rent. Tenants are routinely assumed to be untrustworthy and easy to make money out of and it was very unpleasant to be so treated. As I needed a place to live quickly, I reluctantly agreed to these terms. Upon arrival I discovered there was NO internet despite Murray confirming that it was available; in addition, the electric heating did not function and the place was absolutely filthy and needed cleaning before I could move in. Ms Burge seemed completely uninterested, and it took a whole week without heating for the landlord to finally show up and replace the heater. During his visit he sat on and broke one of the chairs (his property) and did not bother to fix, replace or even apologise for the damage. When I mentioned the filthy state of the flat when I took it, the landlord said Murray had told him it had been professionally cleaned which it had certainly not been. The internet issue was beyond a joke; I work mostly online so I could not work from home and it took 4 months for internet to finally be connected; a major reason for the delay was the landlord’s and Murray’s utter lack of interest in communicating with me or the managing agents of the flats to fix the issue (provide access to the locked area where internet cables needed to be installed). I was obliged to travel to my office every day which made life very inconvenient – not to mention that I had no phone signal at home and no TV. In this day and age this is completely unacceptable, akin to living without electricity or water. At a later date I reported to Mrs. Burge a broken showerhead resulting in a non functioning shower. She asked if I wouldn’t mind waiting until the landlord got back from holiday in two weeks to get it fixed, and it was only after insisting that this was unacceptable that Murray actually sent someone over to fix it. After 7 months I had the option to pay for the remainder of the tenancy up front again (5 months) or fork out £60 for credit referencing fees once again. I don’t know whether they actually did a credit check or just pocketed the money. It seemed evident to me that Murray are only interested in taking your money but don’t actually want to give anything in return. The poor service I received from both landlord and Murray prompted me to buy a property instead continuing to rent. In order to get my deposit back I had to agree to pay an additional £80 for cleaning and repair costs although I returned the place a far cleaner state then when I took the tenancy. Some minor ‘damage’ like scratches on a cupboard and a cracked wall plug were already there when I moved in! I believe every new tenant routinely gets charged for this every time – Murray takes money for so-called professional cleaners and puts it in their pockets.

Mike was very good arranging photo’s and appointments around us and work which was challenging but not an issue at all. He has vast knowledge and a lovely guy. Even replying to emails late in the evening - complete dedication! Both Georgina and Shaniya have been polite and answered all questions and emails promptly. Shaniya arranged a viewing recently and kept my 8 year old daughter amused counting things with her so she wasn’t under our feet, this is what I love about Spencers’s. Shaniya didn’t need to do this but she was amazing and went above and beyond and we our so thankful so I felt I needed to write a review.

Jess could not have been more helpful in helping is secure our forward purchase. A massive thankyou to Moores . Highly recommend to anyone wanting an agent who is motivated, communicative and has excellent local knowledge.

Definitely use Property Experts if you want a smooth sale without the promises other estate agents gave us and did not deliver.

Luke provided excellent advice on pricing within the local market and listed our property at the very end of 2025. Within just four weeks and multiple viewings, we had accepted an offer, and ten weeks later the sale was completed. Our smooth and stress-free experience is a real testament to Luke and Olivia, who kept us fully informed at every stage, handling all communication with the buyer and swiftly dealing with any questions, ensuring that nothing held up the sale. Olivia was always lovely to speak to, and her attention to detail and personal approach were much appreciated. For anyone considering a move in or around Buckingham, we would wholeheartedly recommend Michael Graham.

24th Apr 2026 (11 days ago)A fantastic service from James Hammond, overall extremely pleased with the communication, friendliness and his professionalism. The viewing was nicely timed without being rushed and follow-up emails sent on as promised. Having used Newton Fallowell as agents quite a few years ago for my rental properties & now a tenant myself - it really is a refreshing change to know that you are in good hands. I do believe that they are a company that are looking after the best interests of both the tenants and landlords. Highly recommended !

9th Jan 2026 (17 weeks ago)If I could leave no stars, I would. Very disappointing experience as buyers. We were encouraged on multiple occasions to increase our offers, only to be told much later that the seller was not actually in a position to proceed as they had not found anywhere to move to. Had this been made clear from the outset, we would never have increased our bids. Communication was inconsistent throughout, with long delays and changing explanations about the seller’s situation. We did not receive timely written confirmation of our offers or the seller’s responses, and only received a retrospective summary after repeatedly requesting clarity. Being pushed to increase our offer several times, only to later discover that the seller could not move forward, left us feeling that the process was driven by price rather than transparency. This lack of clarity and honesty caused unnecessary stress and ultimately led us to withdraw. We would strongly advise other buyers to ensure everything is confirmed in writing from the very beginning.

27th Apr 2026 (8 days ago)Having been with a large chain agent for almost a year, with few viewings and very little useful feedback, we swapped to Oak Estates. From the beginning, Kris and his team were really open, honest and positive. They made us feel like they cared about our experience, not just getting us on the books. The viewing team were great - very professional and took on board useful information about the house and the area to pass to the buyers. We managed to get a buyer in much less than half of the time than we had been with the other agents and the office were really good at keeping us in the loop and even offered advice beyond the sale of the property. I would very happily recommend Oak Estates to anyone looking to sell and get a very personalised, honest, professional and caring service.

I think slightly more thorough checks could have been done to check all of the electric ports/ electric company had been told of our move, but overall a quick and smooth experience to get us moved in.

He also put us onto an excellent solicitor who always kept us unto date with progress. Overall marketing of our property was good with Ariel views and good internal photos.
