26th Sep 2023 (3 years ago)An initial great pitch full of the most attractive of promises. The positives stop their from my experience with Corum Clarkston. During the sale of my property I was handed off from one staff member to the next. Their poor communication and substandard supply chain meant taking over a week to get on to the market. The team failed to meet a basic accessibility request for a viewer and struggle to get viewers feedback. Do not be lured in by their premium feel, its an illusion, best go for another agent who deliver the exact same service only deliver it better.

17th Sep 2026 (7 weeks ago)As a healthcare professional moving to the Scottish Borders to support the local community, I expected a basic level of professionalism from Edwin Thompson. Instead, they completely wasted our family's time. We were asked to submit a detailed application form with sensitive personal details on 2nd September just to secure a property viewing. After taking our data, they went completely silent. I followed up via email on 9th September asking for an update, but received absolutely no response from Molly. It is entirely unprofessional to harvest personal data from busy professionals relocating to the area and then completely ignore them.

27th Jul 2026 (14 weeks ago)I travelled from Poulton-le-Fylde to Stornoway to view a property they were representing. Upon arrival the ground floor of the property was undergoing substantial renovations, fundamentally changing the nature of the business. The purchase price was also not the listed price. When I was contacted for feedback by them I was told the owner just wanted to get some feedback and was thinking of taking it off the market. Thank you for making me drive over eight hours, take a ferry for 2 hours and 40 minutes, stay in a two hotels all at a considerable expense just to satisfy a whimsical owner. Very unprofessional. Not even a considered apology. Property has been subsequently unlisted after my feedback - too late for me unfortunately.

16th Sep 2026 (7 weeks ago)My experience is as a buyer dealing with T. Duncan & Co's estate-agency department. One of the features that appeared in T. Duncan's earlier sales particulars for the property I am buying was “Communal Garden”. The rear courtyard was also shown prominently in the marketing. During conveyancing, however, the legal position concerning that courtyard became unclear. What particularly concerns me is that T. Duncan later confirmed that it too had originally assumed the courtyard was shared. When concerns arose, the written garden reference was removed from the marketing, but the photographs of the courtyard were left in place. The firm's Property Manager subsequently accepted responsibility for that photographic oversight. I formally complained on 22nd July. The following day I was told that my complaint had been referred to T. Duncan's Senior Partner. Despite that, the firm's stated response periods passed without a substantive determination. I chased matters again and, on 18th August, allowed an additional final five-working-day period, expiring on 25th August. That also passed without a substantive response. The first communication eventually issued on behalf of the Senior Partner was dated 15th September. His letter confirmed that the Scottish Legal Complaints Commission had by then contacted him. At the time of writing, the underlying complaint remains unanswered. Separately, the courtyard position is still being investigated through my solicitor and Registers of Scotland, at additional time and cost to me. For a prospective purchaser, my concern is therefore not simply that an issue arose. Property transactions sometimes uncover unexpected title questions. My concern is how the property was presented before that issue became apparent, what remained in the marketing afterwards, and how the resulting complaint has then been handled. I will revise this review once the firm has completed its complaint process.

3rd Dec 2022 (3 years ago)All in all, I think I was expecting more than “just adequate” from such a large firm. I use another solicitor in the firm for my personal/business matters who performs on a much higher level than the property squad. There seems to be a lot of staff dealing with the booking of viewings, so a lot of of double calls/emails about individual viewing requests. A word file property questionnaire, which was completed at the start and emailed back, never seemed to be referred to. This led to being constantly asked to answer questions which could have been answered by checking it. Staff, however much they were briefed about my desires and needs for the sale of a post divorce renovate and sell (so a financial cut and run with a low end figure on my end of what I’d accept), could never take it upon themselves to act proactively on my behalf and it always seemed like I had to make the strategy as to how to go about the sale of a house. Communication wasn’t great around the time of the initial sale date and little came in terms of updates, especially as it was a weekend. I expected some information on the Monday. In the end I emailed on Wednesday to get information, all of which I thought I shouldn’t have to make the first move on.
15th Nov 2024 (1 year ago)Overestimated price at quote stage and advised a lower one as soon as home report valuation was received, suggesting upset price 10k below valuation. Little feedback on website viewing figures unless I phoned to request it. Support for property viewings and feedback from viewers was reasonable. Once an offer was received, I had to email and phone Thornton's legal team repeatedly to chase progress. Title deeds were already held by Thornton's, but it took two weeks to scan and email them to the solicitor, delaying written acceptance of the offer beyond the deadline given by the buyer. Solicitor handling my case seemed to think this was normal and deadlines for acceptance of offers were usually ignored. Sale is not yet complete, but I would avoid using the same company for estate agency and legal services in future. It seems to encourage complacency and inefficiency, the opposite of what I expected.

He was extremely professional, polite, supportive and everything was well taken care of from start to finish. Thanks to his great marketing strategy and hard work, our house sold much faster than we expected with a fantastic offer. The whole process was smooth,fast and stress-free. We cannot thank him enough and highly recommend his services to anyone looking to sell or let a property.

I moved to them after a really difficult experience with two larger letting companies, and the difference has been night and day.<br><br>I’ve dealt with Rachel throughout, and she has been absolutely fantastic. She’s incredibly friendly, supportive and easy to deal with, always responds promptly and gets things sorted really quickly. I never feel like I’m having to chase or wonder what’s happening — if I have a question or an issue, Rachel deals with it and keeps me updated.<br><br>After my previous experiences, it’s been such a relief to have someone who is genuinely helpful, approachable and takes pride in providing a great service.<br><br>It’s also a great example of how a smaller, independent company can provide a much more personal service.<br><br>I’m so pleased I made the move to Roselea and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!
