16th Sep 2026 (6 weeks ago)We were asked to leave a review for our experience with Lancasters on the day we picked up the keys. I did not feel like I could without retaliation while the tenancy was active. We primarily dealt with Daniel White and the agency's managing director, Kevin Crossfield.<br><br>We had a viewing where we were verbally informed the works on the house would be completed. They were not by the time we picked the keys up. Photos attached: incomplete works, visible debris, carpet still covered in plastic to protect from works, ladder left behind in a room, food rubbish still left in the fridge etc. The property needed hours of deep-clean by ourselves. On raising concerns, we were initially met with an understanding of the situation and an assurance to fix this quickly.<br><br>Nearly a month later of constant inspections for remedial work, constant emails, many phone calls of escalation, and formal complaint we managed to get into a position to be able to live in the house. We were told we couldn't cancel the tenancy as it is a fixed tenancy and so it was too late. We were then told it was our fault for wanting to move in on the date we wanted. We were also told we knew what the property looked like on viewing despite clear assurance the works would be completed prior. We were also blamed for being unreasonable that the property had only minor issues, despite the pictures attached. A whole month of rent felt wasteful.<br><br>We were also repeatedly informed that as agents they were only able to act on what the landlords can authorise, which is understandable but they were continuing to take commission from our rent hence also responsible.<br><br>Further problems with the house through the tenancy included: a delayed response to replacing an internal smoke alarm (1 month), a completely missed expired gas certificate where we were contacted nearly a month after the expiration to set a date at which point we had a response a month later to this. At this point we decided to move out and not continue to be involved further.<br><br>Any further evidence to this review would be available as they have all been neatly organised.<br><br>Update: I have noted the reply from Lancasters. The pictures speak a thousand words. This post is to warn other potential customers. I would genuinely avoid this company. It was an incredibly stressful renting process and we were treated very poorly. Things only improved slightly following involvement of the property redress scheme, who was also quite unhelpful overall.

Things weren’t so straightforward but they ensured we had regular updates and made sure our house sale and purchase was completed. Maria even went over and above and drove documents to Sheffield to ensure we exchanged on the right day. Thanks so much - we love our new home! ??????
6th Sep 2026 (8 weeks ago)I was referred to William H Brown after a good experience with Bagshaws. Unfortunately this wasn't a good experience. They charged me a "1% but fixed" fee for the sale (5k +VAT). They then listed my house for 475k. When I realised this I asked how the fee was calculated, they failed to provide details yet insisted it was "based on 475k". So they are actively trying to rip off their customers or can't do basic math. Ive cancelled and moved to another agent and halved my fee. Would not recommend.

I was really worried and apprehensive about selling my childhood home.<br>The journey has been seamless with the help of Paul.<br>I can't believe how professional and supportive Sue and Paul have been throughout the process.<br>What I thought would be a daunting task selling my Mums property after her passing couldn't have been any simpler.<br>I would have no hesitation at all recommending this company to anyone.<br>Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

They have dealt with the sale of my property and given the most amazing service I think I have ever received from any company throughout my entire life.Not only have they dealt with the sale side of the house they have been there for me every step of the way while I've been dealing with the legal process. And I cannot praise the whole team enough for the care ,compassion and support I have received from them. I would recommend this team to anyone who would want a service that goes even further than the extra mile.All my praises and thanks go to each and every member of their amazing team. I made an online enquiry on Monday, received a call back on Tuesday, arranged a viewing for Thursday, and by Friday we had paid the holding deposit. The whole process was smooth, efficient, and well organised. We loved the property and were very impressed with how the viewing was conducted. Daniel, who assisted us throughout, did an excellent job. He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing all the information we needed about the property and clearly explaining the next steps. His communication was prompt and reassuring throughout the process. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Martin & Co Sheffield to anyone looking for their next home. Amber, Hannah and the whole team were excellent throughout the process, they kept us fully informed and their communication was excellent. If we sell another property we will absolutely use Paisleys again and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone (they are also very reasonably priced.)

Her willingness to go the extra mile made a real difference and helped make what could have been a very stressful experience much more manageable.<br><br>Overall, the service I received from Staves was excellent. 26th Mar 2026 (7 mo. ago)Shaz was our estate agent for both the purchase of our new house and the sale of our previous house. We cannot recommend him enough. He went above and beyond throughout the whole process. He was incredibly contactable and responded extremely quickly. No question or query was too much for him and he made the whole process as smooth as possible due to his communication. He gave us excellent advice when it came to offer price and also sale price and he helped us negotiate on price when the survey flagged some issues requiring repair. Shaz genuinely cares about both the buyer and vendor in this process, which makes a huge difference compared to other estate agents we have interacted with over the years. If we ever move house again in the future we will be using EweMove again and I will be recommending them and Shaz to anyone else I know planning a move!

They both responded very promptly to any queries I had and certainly lived up to the promise of providing a very effective and personal service.
