Charging a whopping £528 claiming there were marks and scuffs to the wall when I moved out only for an independent adjudicator to prove that only £40 would suffice to repair the said marks and scuffs. Level of extortion!!
9th Sep 2026 (5 days ago)1 star — Avoid if you want a letting agent that communicates and takes responsibility<br><br>Don’t leave a review until you have experienced their services as a tenant!<br><br>My experience with this letting agent has been exceptionally poor, and I would not recommend them.<br><br>The biggest issue has been the way problems are handled once something goes wrong. In my experience, communication has been unreliable, commitments have not been followed through, and I have repeatedly been left having to chase matters that should have been dealt with by the agent.<br><br>My dealings with Daniel White have been particularly disappointing. Meetings have been arranged and then not attended. I have been given assurances that were not followed through, and I have had to challenge information that I believe was inaccurate. The result is that I have had very little confidence in anything I have been told.<br><br>The agent has also handled harassment I have experienced within the building poorly. I have raised concerns about the behaviour I have been subjected to, but I have not felt that these concerns were taken seriously or dealt with appropriately. Rather than receiving clear communication, meaningful support or evidence of proactive action, I have been left feeling isolated and responsible for repeatedly chasing the matter myself.<br><br>A letting agent should take complaints about harassment seriously, respond promptly, keep tenants informed and take reasonable steps to address concerns—particularly where the behaviour affects a tenant’s safety, wellbeing or ability to live peacefully in their home. In my experience, that standard has not been met.<br><br>Most concerning has been the handling of essential maintenance. My boiler has been known to have serious problems for months. Their engineer has attended on multiple occasions attempting to fit parts, despite indicating that the boiler is too old to be realistically repaired. I have now been left without hot water for an extended period, yet the agent has still failed to take appropriate action.<br><br>This is not a minor inconvenience. Hot water is a basic necessity, and a letting agent should take an urgent and proactive approach when an essential service fails. Instead, I have experienced delays, excuses, missed meetings and repeated chasing.<br><br>What has been most frustrating is that I have made every effort to deal with these issues reasonably and through the proper channels. Unfortunately, the impression left is that problems are simply allowed to drag on until the tenant becomes exhausted from pursuing them.<br><br>A letting agent should provide professionalism, honesty, communication and accountability. Sadly, I have experienced very little of any of these.<br><br>If you are considering renting a property through this agent, I would strongly suggest you look very carefully at how they deal with existing tenants before committing yourself. Getting the keys is one thing; getting problems resolved afterwards is another.<br><br>Based entirely on my own experience, I would not use this letting agent again and I would not recommend them to prospective tenants.

They were proactive in communication, always replying quickly to my calls and emails. What could have been a stressful experience turned into exciting and smooth process.

They are professional and knowledgeable and handled valuation, viewings and updates with a personal touch that was really appreciated through what can be a stressful process.<br>I really could not have asked for a better service and would highly recommend Martin & Co.

7th Aug 2026 (5 weeks ago)A fantastic service from Harley Banks the mortgage advisor, he demonstrated his understanding and knowledge of a wide wage of mortgages available, finding the best available rates and offers at the time of purchase. Not only was he dealing with a new residential property for me and my partner, but also looking into buy to let mortgages for my current property, along with remortgaging other properties. Taking on the difficulties we encounted, he still went above and beyond to give the best advice to move forward with all mortgage applications. I will certainly be using him again.

We have been well supported by the team & we are well communicated with. Would highly recommend 3Keys properties- 26th Aug 2026 (19 days ago)I can’t praise everyone at the Hatfield branch enough, we have had nothing but an amazing experience selling our home with them and using them for our new mortgage . Each and everyone of the staff have gone above and beyond for myself and my husband. They have kept us informed at every step and opportunity throughout the selling process and nothing has been a bother, they are curtious, polite and have helped us throughout so much so we recommended them to a friend and neighbour who are also selling through the branch. We just want to say a massive thankyou from myself, my husband and family for everything, you all have been priceless throughout. Thankyou ??????

I made an online enquiry on Monday, received a call back on Tuesday, arranged a viewing for Thursday, and by Friday we had paid the holding deposit. The whole process was smooth, efficient, and well organised. We loved the property and were very impressed with how the viewing was conducted. Daniel, who assisted us throughout, did an excellent job. He was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, providing all the information we needed about the property and clearly explaining the next steps. His communication was prompt and reassuring throughout the process. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend Martin & Co Sheffield to anyone looking for their next home. 15th May 2026 (17 weeks ago)We had 4 agents to evaluate our house and although they were all efficient there was one that stood out from the crowd. Melissa from Morfitt Smith was extremely knowledgeable about the area, the type of potential buyers, realistic about the asking price, and we felt that the service from a local agent would be more suitable for us. Once we made the decision to use Morfitt Smith, they were very quick to arrange the photographs, which were amazing, and to list the property. We immediately had a lot of viewings arranged and received several offers straight away one of which we accepted with their help and guidance. The communication was fantastic, by text and email, we were kept informed of everything by Lauren, our dedicated contact in the office. We're now looking forward to a smooth process through to the exchange of contracts. We are very happy we made the decision to go with Morfitt Smith, they have been so friendly, professional and efficient in what is potentially a stressful time, and would highly recommend them to anyone.

There were some significant challenges involved as we both live quite far away and therefore couldn’t regularly visit both the agent and the property. From the outset, the advice, communication and support we received from the Northwood team was exceptional. As the property was newly renovated at a considerable cost, they also arranged regular house visits (at a very reasonable cost), to both comply with our insurance policy and give us peace of mind that all was in order. We completed on the property today, and would like to offer our sincerest thanks to the whole team at Northwood Hatfield for their professionalism, dedication and patience. 26th Mar 2026 (25 weeks ago)Shaz was our estate agent for both the purchase of our new house and the sale of our previous house. We cannot recommend him enough. He went above and beyond throughout the whole process. He was incredibly contactable and responded extremely quickly. No question or query was too much for him and he made the whole process as smooth as possible due to his communication. He gave us excellent advice when it came to offer price and also sale price and he helped us negotiate on price when the survey flagged some issues requiring repair. Shaz genuinely cares about both the buyer and vendor in this process, which makes a huge difference compared to other estate agents we have interacted with over the years. If we ever move house again in the future we will be using EweMove again and I will be recommending them and Shaz to anyone else I know planning a move!
