I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with Allen & Harris Frome, and I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others.
Firstly, the communication was abysmal. I was not informed that the buyer had pulled out of the purchase, which caused unnecessary delays and complications. This crucial information was withheld, and it was only through my persistent inquiries that I found out about the buyer’s withdrawal. Allen and Harris simply stopped responding to any and all communication.
Additionally, the photos taken of my property were of very poor quality with water marks and blown out colours. Professionalism was sorely lacking in this regard, and it felt as though minimal effort was put into presenting my property well.
Moreover, the manager was unhelpful and displayed a lack of professionalism throughout the process. Any attempts to address my concerns were met with indifference and a dismissive attitude. It was evident that customer service and satisfaction were not priorities.
Overall, my experience with Allen & Harris Frome was frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend their services to anyone looking for a reliable and professional real estate agent.
Avoid at all costs!

We have had a great experience dealing with Carrieanne at Allen and Harris , she showed us around the property we are purchasing twice, she was very knowledgeable about the property and had a nice relaxed approach to the viewing which is exactly what we like, We had our 3 children with us who she was great with. I wasn’t going to post this, but happened to see Rory Sloan the other day and it made sooooo angry, so I have to share, even though the final decision from the ombudsman was a year ago!

Do not trust Rory Sloan as far you could throw him!
He is despicable! I’d used Allen & Harris twice before to try and sell my house, during Brexit, didn’t work and at the end of COVID, didn’t work again! I’d got to know him for a few years and thought I’d give him another go! I signed the contract, as I had before and he said he’d fill in the rest when he got back to the office! How stupid and trusting was I! He’d been charging 1% previously - when I got the bill when the house finally sold, he’d filled in 1.75% - what a rip off and cost me an extra £7.5K!! He claimed he’s not the cheapest nor would he want to be! Shame their business doesn’t match up to his claim!! I disputed the final bill and went to their compliance department, they found on behalf of their own business (No surprise!!), then I went to the housing ombudsman but they found for their member (they do get over £300k a year in fees from the group of which Allen & Harris are a part so why would they bite the hand that feeds them!) so they are all corrupt and I wouldn’t go near them again especially Rory Sloan who is an awful man…!

Awful landlords. Zero respect for me as a tenant - repeatedly send workmen who let themselves into my home without notice or permission, despite asking them repeatedly not to do this - it's against the law! They don't care. Insist on inspections every 3 months, taking photos of my personal possessions, even after 3 years of model tenancy. Hassle me on the phone, calling over and over, despite asking them to email or text only as I work in an NHS setting and can't answer. I don't know if they're all extremely dim, don't communicate with one another or have very poor practices. Either way, I'd avoid as a renter if you can.

The agents were excellent when it came to putting together the marketing stuff, and produced a very good online offer. However, once published it went very quiet and we had difficulty getting responses to telephone calls and emails. And 1 vieing in 3 months is not a very good rate, even given the current difficult state of the market.

Konnor, Ellouise and Devlin in the letting team were full of enthusiasm and energy and did a great job in helping us let our property. They found us a lovely couple who took the property at market rate and have settled in and seem happy and content.
Konnor, Ellouise and Devlin always shared updates with each other so whoever we spoke to they up to speed. They were always available to speak to in the office, even if I popped in unannounced, and were very professional with prospective clients.

Worst estate agent I have ever dealt with. We rented through them for nearly two years. Our landlord was amazing, but Allen and Harris were consistently dishonest, claiming the landlord was wanting us out, little did they know we were in personal contact with the landlord. Avoid at all costs.

I found staff to be rude, deceitful, unprofessional and exploitative. The open complaint I have with them has been 53 days without an update (they said it should be within 7 working day), so I have found that if you have an issue with them, you get little to no chance to get it resolved. Phoning their service number on Twitter... expect them to answer after 20+ calls and sound angry that you disturbed them. I would not recommend ever using this company. Separate to this it's been over 90 days and none of my deposit has been returned... 74 days with no updates. If you can't afford to wait multiple months for your deposit back, I would suggest not dealing with this company. If you are stuck and have to use them, record all calls!!!

In the past I have always been left feeling that Estate Agents were a real rip off waste of money, not so Allen and Harris in Frome - they have been worth every Penny. Amazing from beginning to end. I ended up getting rid of my original mortgage advisor as William Proud was superb.
The selling team were responsive to anything I sent through. Nothing was too much bother. Grace and the team ensured that communication between myself and the seller was clear. There is nothing I can fault. Being a first time buyer it was all new and daunting but I did not need to worry as the team made it very stress free.

Professional and responsive. I was given good opportunity to review and agree on the draft marketing information they produced. It is important that this is given close direction to prevent errors and misunderstanding so I was really pleased about this aspect of their service. A change I required was acted on promptly and without quibbling. They set up an open-house day for prospective buyers - really well organised and highly effective. Communication was great up to the point when a sale was agreed. Still ok after but could have been better with coordinating information for the new buyers.

Cannot praise Allen and Harris Estate Agents enough! They provide an outstanding, professional and excellent level of service and have been exceptionally supportive and helpful throughout the entire process of renting a property.
I had been looking for a place to rent for a while which would allow a dog, every other estate agent I called were unhelpful and uninformative, not even willing to take my details for any potential upcoming properties.
When I called Allen and Harris, I spoke with Joshua, who is absolutely brilliant! He was more than helpful, he kept me updated throughout the entire process which was very reassuring given the demand for rental properties at the moment - he is an absolute credit to Allen and Harris Team and just made the entire process run so smoothly!
I had a very lovely lady named Jess, who followed up with all the paperwork and documentation. Jess has been fantastic, she was also very informative, kept in touch and managed to sort all the relevant information out so quickly, that we got to move in within a week!
A humongous thanks to Joshua and Jess, and the rest of the Allen and Harris Team, you have been absolutely amazing and made the whole process so stress-free and easy! ...I wish I had found you guys sooner!

A&H in Frome have been excellent. We were only able to agree terms to buy a house in late May but the staff, RORY SLOANE in particular, was very professional and kept pressure on the solicitor's to enable a speedy and successful sale to.progress through to Legal Completion within 4 weeks.

I’ve had such a great experience finding a property with Allen and Harris, Frome. I often get dismissed due to being a full time student and having young children but Jessica kept me informed throughout the whole process and communicated with me in such a lovely way. I was shown around a few properties in Frome and the estate agent, Grace Cook, from Allen and Harris was by far the best. She was very friendly each time we met her and was knowledgeable about the property.
When we submitted an offer on the house, the company were great at communicating next steps and offering their own services when needed. I've had a few delays, at no fault from Allen and Harris, so have been eager to chase up and expedite the process. Thankfully, Grace has always been available to answer my (many) questions and follow ups, and has been working tirelessly to get me into my dream home.
I'd really recommend Allen and Harris in Frome, Grace in particular, and would use their services again if required.

6 stars actually. Positive and professional from the outset, Allen & Harris know how to treat you right. Luke was a pleasure to listen to, even very Gracefully repeating himself when I requested, so I could fully understand what I was signing. He was positive about my humble home, seeing all the potential and more that I hadn't even seen, though I live here. He knew what system was best for this house (The Modern Method) and was always available to talk on the phone. Grace was super efficient, showing people around the property expertly swiftly with little time between those arriving; clearly describing the benefits of the home, garden and the area. For me...it was stress free.

I feel that I have to write to say that I am so impressed with Grace Crook and her liaison with myself. She is astute at sending me emails to inform me of upcoming suitable properties for my needs and she is very responsive to any questions I may have regarding any. She will also suggest any possible alternatives to my `wish-list` and is quick to make known any good positives of properties in my price range I may well have not considered. She is a pleasure to liaise with.....she keeps things `flowing` and is on the ball. Having been a Nurse Manager for many years...it is so nice to be in contact with such a pro-active worker who I feel does her utmost to help me....and I wanted this to be known to your company....as I feel she is a true asset to your team (and probably the best worker in Estate Agency I have come across).

After three months of being on the market with Allen and Harris I've had one viewing, no communication since early July or possibly even late June. Was promised a for sale sign to be put up (state of the art sales tactic I know) didn't happen, discussed changing the value of my property at the end of July, didn't happen. Literally the worst experience I've had trying to sale a property and stuck in the contract for a few weeks yet. I STRONGLY URGE HOME OWNERS TO USE OTHER ESTATE AGENTS .

Despite being two and a half hours away in London it didn't hinder the advice or customer service Keleigh provided me with. Although Keleigh knew I wouldn't be ready for a good few months, she took the time to listen and guide me through the next steps whilst I was going through a messy separation which I thought would leave me off the property ladder.
After a lengthy telephone conversation Keleigh soon put my mind at ease, and I discovered I was actually in a position to buy somewhere! I was so happy I just wanted to hug her! She even got the London office to give me advice on selling which was really helpful. I truly don't think any other advisor would have taken the time out of their day to help me when they wouldn't have financially gained anything from me at all.
When I am ready to sell and the legal work is done I will definitely be on the phone for help Keleigh!

This company is unbelievable. I am amazed it is still in business on the lettings side. Nothing but trouble since day 1 - they get you in the property and then nothing without months of chasing for things to be put right. They come across with an attitude of being above everyone else with the tenant being at the bottom of list. I wouldn't even touch them in future with anybody else's bargepole. They can't even communicate within their organisation and very threatening letters are sent out with incorrect accusations. Thank goodness the property has now been sold to another landlord who knows how to look after their tenants.Just a shame I had to give them 1 star

I needed to renew the lease on a rental property in Bath with the team who originally signed up the tenant for me. Not exactly rocket science then. Fees were charged upfront, and I then had to chase, call and message them 5-6 times to get this simple job done. Calls were not returned and promised emails never arrived. Not impressed and won't be using them again.
