Have been a tenant with Bairstow eves for 1.5 years, everyone I have had dealings with have been very polite and pleasant, however I think that’s where the positive comments end.
We moved out of the property 3 weeks ago (gave the correct amount of notice, gave the keys back in time despite nobody reaching out to us to arrange this, left the property clean and well maintained) and are yet to hear absolutely anything about our deposit.
We have emailed on 4 separate occasions and haven’t recieved a single response. I called them this morning and was told that the man who I needed to speak to was on the phone but would call me back, it must be an awful long phone call he is on as I still haven’t heard from him 8 hours later!
At this point I think it’s fair to call it theft. We weren’t given the luxury of getting 3 weeks to pay the deposit when moving in so unsure as to why it’s different rules when trying to get it returned.
Please take this into consideration if you’re considering renting through Bairstow Eves.

Her kind professionalism and genuine spirit really translated across well & it was something that struck me every time I had the pleasure of speaking with her on the phone & via email. Having had a great experience in the past with Bairstow Eves in Stratford, it was a no brainer to come back. Everything from the tenant visits to the referencing and organising of dates and visits, was so professionally done. The tenants, who were found within days, are so perfect for the property, as a landlord, I could not be happier. If you are looking for professionalism, great tenants/landlords, efficiency with excellent communication, these are the guys to go with, I’d use them again in a heartbeat. Best agencie ever ?? I was struggling to find a flat with my requests and budget, Rosemary was definitely my saviour. Was so fast and easy the whole renting process . Just got an email and called her straight, she was very happy to check for me if the flat would be suitable and less than 5min after she was calling me back with an answer. right after i went to see the flat and fell in love. She was very supportive all the time and extremely friendly, could feel straight how nice person she is. I would like to share our wonderful experience with Peter Pavlou at Bairstow Eves, Loughton. My partner and I were interested in a property and Peter quickly arranged a viewing for us. He was chatty on the phone - giving us loads of information and suggesting what we could do with a slightly out-of-the-norm (but loved by us) layout to the house. He clearly knew the house well and was happy to offer us his expert opinion on what our options could be. His passion for his job was obvious from the start which was so refreshing.
When we met Peter at the house we warmed to him immediately. We have had to deal with agents from other companies who lied to us, seemed not bothered about their work, or lacked the people skills that Peter has. Peter was excited to show us the house and it meant we felt instantly at ease.
He knew the area so well, could answer every question about the house, and was friendly with us - cracking jokes and making us feel comfortable to ask questions.
We put an offer in on the house and to our great relief that offer was accepted. We were over the moon. I must say as well - whereas other estate agents were happy to bend the rules and tell us what other bids a property had already received, Peter stuck to the rules and we respected him for that. It showed us that he was professional but above all it showed us that he was fair.
I would 100% recommend Peter and the wider team at Bairstow Eves. We could not have asked for a more friendly and professional team. We love the house so we hope we won't be using you again for a while, but I know we wouldn't want to go with anyone else in the future!!

From the first telephone call to JD Wood to let my property, the service was seamless. What has been a stressful process in the past was not the case with JD Wood at all.
Rosemary, Roberto and Leanna made the process easy for me which was perfect.
Leanna was amazing with viewings and calls (to me and tenants) and within one day I had a stream of viewings. She was always on hand, keeping me updated throughout. Both honest and professional, she made the process enjoyable and filled me with confidence. I only used JD Wood (sole agent) and would do the same again. The photography service is also second to none. Their service does not compare to other agencies at all and I know my property is in safe hands which is the peace of mind you need as a landlord. . Leanna has recently been helping me with securing a property to let in the Loughton area, I’ve had an amazing experience so far so would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy or let.
The regular communication and customer service has been excellent, I am yet to move into the new property but Leanna has been great in trying to work around any restrictions I have due to work and location - both with the viewings and move in date.

Using John D Wood has been the most wonderful experience for my wife and myself, that’s why we have given them 5 stars for everything. In buying and selling with them has taken the stress out of what is a normally stressful problem however on this occasion it has been a joy. Lorraine Almond from John D Wood, went above and beyond. The purchase was stressful and dragged for a few months . From start to end , I could not fault the 5 star service provided.There were a few stumbling blocks,right till the very end when we agreed a target completion date. This was overcome thankfully with Lorraine , going above and beyond to make things happen.
She was really really helpful,empathetic, insightful, tenacious, determined, never gave up and always went the extra mile. She was extremely professional ,kind and polite and if it hadn't been for her, I doubt I would have completed on the 20th November 20. As someone who owns a dog I struggled to find a suitable property for a while. I sent a message regarding my current property asking whether they allowed pets and they came back to me very quickly after contacting the Landlord. I appreciate the help from the team. So far it's been a great experience. It helps when people understand and have a dog themselves especially in this area (lettings) as a lot of landlords don't trust animals for some reasons? Thank you Rosemary for organising the process and Monou (I have probably misspelt your name, apologies) for contacting the Landlord in the first place finding out whether it was a pet-friendly property. I had a terrible experience when I signed a tenancy agreement for a flat in Chingford with John D Wood Loughton, who cancelled the agreement a day before I was to get the keys, esentially leaving my kids and I with nowhere to live and incurring significant cost. I had thought it was a respectable agency.
I signed an agreement after seeing the flat whilst it was occupied over a month before move in date). However when I went to see the flat a few days before I was to get the keys I found the flat was damp and in a terrible state (no refurshishment or painting done).
In the following days the landlord covered over some of the damp and didn't bother to paint the flat (apalling state) and the agency told me I should redecorate the flat (strip walls, plaster and paint) once I had keys at my cost (for agency the flat was in an acceptable and "habitable" state).
Eventually after much discussion and stress, the agency agreed to get a 'damp survey' done, to start my contract a week later and said the landlord would give me access to strip the walls, plaster and paint the flat AT MY EXPENSE before I moved in (not willing contribute at all). I incurred days of stress, serious cost and I have to pay for weeks of temporary accomodation.
Just saw the agency has put the flat on Right Move again with nice old photo's... I can't believe John D Wood rent out flats in such a poor state and decieve unsuspecting tenants. I would report them to the Ombudsman if I had the time or energy.

Very biased towards the landlord. Tenants please avoid if you want your deposit back as they would report issues at checkout that would be there at checkin. They also don’t do any repairs even if it kills you!
I left the property they were managing because they didn’t ask the landlord to repair some condensation & mould issues which was extremely important considering my son is asthmatic & which I’ve been asking for 4 months. It’s just about earning the landlord as much as possible and avoid all repairs.
Last week I received an end of tenancy report which state issues which were present when my tenancy started. Since I've been taken advantage of many a times by rogue estate agents and I've learned my lesson so I made detailed recordings of the property at the start & end of the tenancy where I cover each and every inch of the property. I just emailed them one of the video and took screenshots from other videos that show that the issues were there beforehand. I did email them earlier that these were present at checkin but instead of checking the records they are going ahead to get repair quotes & ask for deductions from my deposit. That’s not going to happen! I’ll go to court than pay!

An absolute dissapoontment! Very good at locking ur money away but not providing ant security at all. They’ve reassure us all will be ready after triple checking and explaining that we have to leave in hollidays, made us pack the house, 1 hour left to sign the contract and get hold of the keys they say landlord decided otherwise. A day before that landlord was all “happy and ready” as per Joe’s speech. All references checked all was fine, no protection at all for tenants , puttinf people at risk of dropping other houses and ending up on streets!

It has now been over 3 weeks since I have vacated my property and I have still not received my deposit back. I have been chased for my rent on numerous occasions (3 weeks after my due date) when I have in-fact paid invariably 2 weeks early. My landlord has been told I have not paid my full rent when I have had an increase in rent when again I have paid in full.
Tenants avoid! Landlords use this agent if you want to get paid late if at all

My tenant wanted to remove my kitchenware and on 29th Feb 2012 was given permission by the estate agent to leave my property in the underground carpark.
I was not consulted and my permission was not sought. I have not seen my property since.
The missing property is worth approcimately £1100. Some items were gifts from holidays in Italy, Japan and the states.
My Deposits the company which held the deposit decided to divide deposit fifty fifty. After months of chasing Hetheringtons I was informed of the decision but they still haven´t returned the money awarded to me.
For a year I have tried to get the agency to take responsibility but I feel that I have been stonewalled. They have failed to locate my property, purchase replacements or compensate me for the loss which is approximately 700 pounds.
I made a complaint to the police who arrested the tenant on suspicion of theft. I was so convinced that there was no way Hetheringtons would tell my tenant to move my things without my persmission. Least of all to leave them in a carpark used by 18 other flats and their visitors. However the tenant managed to locate the email proving that he was telling the truth.
So after two years I am still waiting for Hetheringtons to compensate me for the loss, replace the missing items or locate the missing items.
I have had a frustrating year trying to talk to the estate agent but it is apparent that they have no intention of admitting that they made a mistake and compesating me for my loss.
