I had a great experience in dealing with Barnard Marcus Estate Agents Ellie and Patrick. As a mother of a three year old boy I was searching for a place we can call home. We found a lovely peaceful home and the entire process was very short keeping in mind that we are all in lockdown and things are very slow. I received the keys in one week from placing an offer and being accepted by the landlord. Ellie and Patrick put a lot of effort to get things sorted so I can be reunited with my son. A pleasure to deal with. Zuzanna Kubani showed us the flat on two occasions (outside her normal working times) and was courteous, enthusiastic, professional and well-informed. Vicky Horseman then followed-up with very prompt and similarly professional advice and communications. Barnard Marcus Earl's Court appeared to be very well-run and have extremely able staff who provide good service with a smile. The best experience dealing with a London estate agent I have yet had.

The worst letting experience I have ever had. Incompetence and laziness across the board. Avoid if at all possible.
I worked with Edina G. and Sophie E. Problems started from the very beginning with numerous follow-ups required to get the contract. Move in procedure (inventory, etc.) were not completed prior to the start of the tenancy due to mistakes made by Edina and/ or Sophie.
About halfway through the tenancy the landlord went silent and basic maintenance/ repairs were not performed for the remainder of the tenancy. I left the flat prior to the end of the lease and agreed with Edina that the house would be list for availability then. This was never updated in the online listing.
Following the end of the tenancy land lord did not provide back the deposit. Effectively no support was provided by Edina or Sophie and I needed to go through a ~3 month process to get the deposit back through the TDS scheme.
Avoid these people and Barnard Marcus like the plague!

They're the classic agency that after payed the agency fee, they just disappear leaving you and your unprofessional landlord alone. They just care of landlord's opinions, making believe you that they will be the perfect third part between you and issues.

MUST AVOID! This agency is extremely rude and irresponsible. We suppose to move in 27th of September but till today, which is 30th, we still couldn’t move in.
The agency gave us the contract in the last minute. When me and my partner were about to sign the contract we found there was something ridiculous (for example we have to pay for TV licenses which we don’t even use and we need landlord’s permission to use home fragrance) and we wanted to amend it. But their agent Edina, who is even a manager, refused to do anything and accused my partner “don’t have common sense”. Only thing she did was pushing us to pay the six month rent in advance without contract, and gave us the contact.
An update: After they wasted our time, they decided to decline our offer. However, we still haven’t received our deposit.

Both sales were achieved relatively quickly (and one property had been on the books of another agent for 5 months). The service was very professional and supportive from beginning to end.

They collected 6 months rent from the tenant for one year contract while I was away for holiday. 2 weeks later after I returned back to London, I started to demand the rent payment, 3 months chasing up, got nothing, they just cut off all communication now. I am taking the case to The Property Ombudsman , after extensive search that I found out about the The Property Ombudsman.

they collected 6 months rent from tenants, 3 months later I still haven't received the rent, despite constantly calling, texting, and emailing etc, got no reply. I have also contacted the area manager and the head office, heard nothing back from them. I am now getting in touch with lawyer, who is reviewing t he case, will write to them soon.

We paid the deposit and the agent fee for an apartment to be removed from market and they rented it to someone else and now I'm homeless. Don't ever use them. They didn't even called us to communicate that other people were offering more money for our flat.
