Terrible service and communication skills from agent Elizabeth Tracey. Shocking service from Foxtons—wouldn't recommend them.
I had a viewing for a property of my choice scheduled at 12:00 on Thursday. I emailed at 11:15 to confirm the address where we would meet, which was the office on Old Brompton Road. She confirmed the address at 11:17 and said we would meet at the office.
While I was on my way to the office, in the middle of a workday and under heavy rain, Elizabeth Tracey emailed at 11:55 to say the property was not available and they couldn’t get the key. She then offered to show other properties, all of which were £1,000 over my £3.5K budget. I arrived at the office on time at 12:00, soaked from the rain. Very unprofessional. Not sure if it's just the bad agent or Foxtons itself. Definitely choose another agent if you decide to go with Foxtons and value your personal time.

I had a great experience looking for my apartment with Foxton. I went to Foxton Earls Court office, and from the beginning, Jack Cuthbert, was very lovely.
We had to search for several weeks and at each viewing, Jack remained positive and patient with my situation and requirements.
In my case, I came alone from Spain, and having someone who makes you feel comfortable and helps you in addition to doing the job well is really appreciated. He was very involved in finding me an apartment, and finally, he found the perfect one for me; one amazing and modern studio in one of the best areas in London, nearby Kensington High Street, for 3 years and for a really great price. It's not easy to find something like that but he understood my necessities 100%, and he was in touch with me quickly despite having a high demand for applications at the time.
Last but not least, the signing of documents was very fast. London is a very busy city, clients are always looking for efficiency, and this agency is just that. Jack made it very easy for me. I definitely recommend this agency! Thanks, Jack!

Viewed a Flat with Elizabeth in the evening on 16th May. It was not right for us due to layout. So decided to move to my own Flat in Penywern Road and move my own Tenant to the Flat that Elizabeth showed us. Called Elizabeth, but discovered that she blocked me. Called the Office, but was advised to call another agency. Very strange that this agency is turning reliable tenants away. I would therefore not recommend it to landlords.

I was looking for a rental property, initially frustrated, trekking through London in search of the right place. Glad I came into contact with Jamal at the Earl’s Court branch. He was one in a million. I had seen properties through other agencies, but because Jamal was so positive and on it, I went with Foxtons. After the first meeting, Jamal could tell what was likely to suit me. He then showed me several properties, all of which were great but it was the first one he showed me that was the one. (Beware of the Foxtons managers. They’re the ones who have the potential to derail an offer!) There’s a lot of paperwork to handle but Jamal guided me through. Also, Foxtons has a sophisticated paperwork system that keeps everyone aware of what needs to happen next. Things can move very quickly in the rental market so it’s handy to have.
I’m now settled in my new home, very happy indeed.

Because this staff didn't have my permission and brought clients to view the property. How rude is it? And she did not apologize. Can you imagine when you sleep in bed strangers just open your door?

Our experience with this estate agency has been overwhelmingly negative. We originally intended to rent our apartment for just one year, but they attempted to persuade us to commit to a two-year lease with our tenant. They presented this as an enticing option without clearly disclosing the 10% fee they impose for the second year, despite essentially providing no additional services. To compound matters, they failed to meet the agreed-upon rental rate, reducing it by over £500 from our initial agreement. This reduction occurred even though they were initially confident in securing the higher rental fee.
Now, we find ourselves facing the prospect of paying a 10% fee for the second year, which significantly diminishes our rental yield for the upcoming year compared to what we could have earned if we had found a tenant independently. When I raised my concerns with the manager and expressed that had I known about these hidden costs, I would have never proceeded with renting my apartment and would have preferred to leave it vacant for personal use, she dismissed my concerns as "seller's remorse".
We had made several attempts to contact the agency to seek clarification and resolution, but our emails remained unanswered, and phone calls resulted in promises to call back that were never fulfilled. While I am undoubtedly determined to escalate this matter further, recent obligations have kept me occupied, preventing me from incurring further losses by dealing with this agency.

My experience with Foxtons was positive and negative for rent properties.
The options they have are good. The agent I worked with, Hilde, was extremely helpful, open to communication and professional.
However, during an offer process, another agent included themselves in the negotiation and was extremely rude and unprofessional. Hilde managed this matter very calmly and professionally.
I do think that Foxtons lacks a bit of personalism with tenants. They favour the landlord.

Be warned that Foxtons pushes hard for Google reviews right after you move into your flat, so their reviews are inflated with 5 star reviews of people who haven’t lived at their flat long enough to realize Foxtons is shortchanging them. Terrible at responding, always sent the wrong or incompetent tradespeoples, and tried to hold onto my deposit with a fraudulent check out report. The shower didn’t work properly for weeks on end and we received no compensation and Foxton’s suggestion was to not shower.

We feel very fortunate that we have “bumped” into Douglas at Foxtons Earl’s Court.
We have been a nightmare client but Douglas and Foxtons Earl’s Court has been there every step trying to understand what we are looking for from our expressions, feedbacks and words. He has come up with different ideas every viewing we have done. Also,, the insights about the district, history, what it means to be in the neighborhood, all the necessary informations for buying a “big” item was incredibly useful as you cannot get those informations just searching on the internet. They were very patient and knew when to give you your space.
We also loved the ambience of the Office as well. The warmth and attention made you feel that you are welcomed rather than being another buyer.

I am appalled by the lack of effort how Foxtons Earls Court can take care of a property.
I have been with Foxtons for three years, only because tree years is the duration of the tenancy agreement.
There has been so many issues with the property which has been ignored and not looked at, nor matter how many attempts I have tried to reach out and complain on matters relating to lights not working, black mold, broken windows and more which was supposed to get fixed. They have still managed to increase the rent even though nothing gets resolved. This company does not even do anything for their tenants, everything leverages on their side and they’re not fair to deal with.
Choose your letting agency with diligence because this company just expects payments and does nothing in regards to faults to the property. They will waste your time and energy.

High net worth clients might not feel much however, it is a fact that Foxtons act like a machine which only cares about making money. Extremely disappointed the way various departments dealt with my case. Very inconsiderate culture and behaviour. They do not highlight lot of important info in their terms and conditions which put responsibility on clients. Lack of coordination within the organization. Late responses when something needs explanation. Un necessary delay in refund of security deposit and failure to provide any information i.e. reason for delays. Rude behaviour if you are not a landlord. All in all very unprofessional and inconsiderate attitude. I wander when will the authorities take notice of the service provided by this entity. Not naming the names of individuals here who displayed poor skills in dealing with the cases/queries, however, names can be provided with audit trail, if competent authority wishes to investigate.

I was let down by a landlord who backed out of a rental agreement days before my 19 year old son and his friend were due to start their let. I had phoned so many estate agents before finding that flat that I was fully aware of how incredibly quickly the market was moving. Jorge at Foxtons was the only agent who worked tirelessly to find us a last minute replacement rental. He tried every avenue, he was honest and upfront and he managed to keep me calm in a hugely stressful situation. He gave fair and honest information about the different flats which was so helpful as I’m in the North of Scotland not London! By the end of the day we had an alternative flat organised… incredible!
I can’t recommend him strongly enough.

We were living in the flat whilst it was listed and they let themselves in unannounced. The first time it was understandable but after talking to the agent and them saying that they would put it into their system, it happened two more times! Each time, the same story; saying that they would fix their system so this never happened again. It was just a mess and then when they did start ringing the bell instead of letting themselves in they wouldn't warned us. Even when they did warn us, they would arrive at a completely different time to what they said.
Overall, felt they were inconsiderate and unprofessional.

I cant say how terrible foxtons are.we have payed the deposite and one month rent for a flat.After dad nobody even cared to respond to our emails and phone call and basically all we have heard is it takes time for us to do reference checking which already the reference company have done it.Yesterday we finally talked with the manager and he said yes I don't know why its taking too long and we've asked for our money to be refunded and without any explanations he said ok we refund your money which they didn't. Seriously the tension this agency caused us is beyond words.I wish I could take this to higher levels but I don't have the time nor the energy.Never ever going close to this place.I hope we get our refund soon.

My partner and I recently rented a flat from Foxtons in Earl's Court.
Tameem Shahid demonstrated the upmost integrity and professionalism in his dealings with me, nothing was too much trouble for him and he was always available day and night to field my queries. When we missed out on the first flat we offered on he quickly found a replacement which we were able to secure at a very reasonable price.
The mangers Edy and Sameer were also very helpful in advising me on making my offer more attractive to the landlord, as well as fielding my irksome queries regarding changing furniture in the flat.
I can't thank the Earl's Court team enough for making my first rental experience in London stress free.

After weeks of searching for our first home in London, endless of conversations, explanations, viewings, phone calls and meetings with different real estate agents in the city we met Tameem Shahid from Foxtons Earls Court agency and that was the end of it. It took 10 minutes for him to understand exactly what we're looking for! Honestly our expectations were low due to our very specific profile and understanding the problematic timing of the market but fortunately we met him! Not a minute was lost and our first viewing became our new home. The hard work was ahead of us from that point but Tameem made sure that everything is clear and "on the table", that we have everything and on time in order for us to move as smoothly as possible and all this time it was all before his wedding! Try to avoid Foxtons and these big companies as much as possible. It may be enticing, since they have the largest portfolio of houses, but don't let that distract you from the fact that they will try to rip you off from every penny that you have.
Foxton's service may be the worst experience that I have ever had in my life. And I am saying this from a person that has lived in third world countries most of his life. The lack of empathy and the general disregard for the customer is incredibly shocking. I wish that I was referring just to the Earl's Court branch, but unfortunately it seems as if the whole company is like this.
I had an issue with the branch manager (Sophie) being unprofessional and rude, which I then wanted to move higher up and see if we could solve the issue. I tried to contact the regional manager (Sameer El Sabai) over a month ago, still with no response... If it is not about you giving them money, they will take weeks if not months to respond. And when I asked the manager why it took her so long to respond, her response was "I don't know." The issue has not been yet resolved, and the matter has massively held me back financially.
All I am trying to say is, avoid Foxton's if you are the type of person that needs to talk to and be treated like an actual human being.

I've had a really upsetting experience with Foxtons. I could probably write an entire book on my experiences, but I'll try to keep it as concise as I can.
Letting Agents:
They pushed back our agreed and signed upon move-in date only giving us 1 week notice. This was a big problem for me as I had planned my previous tenancy had a planned move out date on the same day, leaving me without a place to stay or store my things. Foxtons said their reason for pushing back the date is that I did not pay my first rent installment or submit my documents in time even though everything had been sorted out about a month earlier.
For the rent, I was contacted about a month before the move-in date saying they wanted the first 6-month installment by the end of the week. They told me this on Thursday, giving me 1 day to pay several thousand pounds. I told them as I'm an international student, I had to wire transfer the money which takes a few days to go through. I told them that I would be able to send it by the end of the following week, which I did, and they said it was fine.
For the documents, my old landlord wasn't replying to any of my emails asking for a reference. As that landlord was also with Foxtons, I asked the letting agent working with me if she could try to contact her. She said she would do it and I never heard back from her about it.
I can only believe that they made an administrative error about our move-in date, and tried to pin the blame on me and my roommates. After hours of conflict, the manager Sophie Rolls told us she can cancel the contract, but "good luck finding a new flat in 1 week". So they basically backed us into a corner and left us with no other options.
Property Management:
The flat was managed by Foxtons. No inventory was ever done, which is contrary to what we were told before moving in. When we moved in, the flat was in pretty terrible condition and it took us hours to clean it to an acceptable state. Some highlights:
- Broken furniture and planks of wood in the living room we were told would be unfurnished
- Surfaces of the kitchen slicked with grease
- The balcony had a bunch of garbage on it, old water bottles, and a broken freezer with food left inside
- Broken bathroom extractor fan that wasn't fixed until the ceiling started molding
- Old unwashed pillows and duvets from previous tenancy
- Missing light bulbs
- Broken entryphone
- Some of the outlets and lights were actually dangerous - broken plugs sticking out, melted sockets, etc.
It took them absolutely ages to fix many of these issues. The entryphone especially took just under 1 year for them to fix, which was particularly frustrating as we didn't know when someone was buzzing. And when they "fixed" it, they didn't fix the microphone so we still couldn't talk to people.
It's also a huge pain to try to contact the property managers. They will ghost your emails and if you try to call, they'll always be busy and say they'll call you back but never do.
Also just wanted to add that I remember Foxtons Earl's Court google rating to be much lower a few months ago. And skimming through the reviews, most of the reviewers haven't reviewed anything else. I could be wrong about the rating being lower though, and just being paranoid now.

I have had a leak from one of their properties into my flat for 1.5 years + now
They have never solved the issue...
I have had to get the council involved numerous times...
The council called them last month ordering them to solve the problem.
Just arrived back from Christmas and flooded out again...
I have been flooded over 5 times now from their property they are managing to-date.
The council called me back last month to say foxtons was sending a plumber out to fix it and you guessed it they didn’t.
The leak is worse than it has ever been.
Foxtons do not manage any property at all
4 years ago they was a mouse infestation upstairs to which I was complaining about that.
They never sorted that out either
Seems to me the most useless property management company I have ever known.
Last month they was ordered by the council to sort the leak out and today they said they never set a plumber to sorted it even tho requested by the council.
When they was a mouse problem upstairs 3 years ago they never even put any poison down.
They was 5 tenants in one year in the ‘property’ all complaining about mice.
It was effecting my property and foxtons did nothing about it never. The lady said on the phone at foxtons yes we have it on our notes about mice and when I asked has anyone been out of course the answer was no nobody has been out to fix the problem.
I am tired of having to get the council to enforce work done on their rental properties

We were looking for a two-bedroom flat for more than a month, contacted several agencies and viewed more than 50 properties in all the boroughs of London. I will try to detailed our experience with Foxtons just to prevent other people to have a horrible experience like we did. Moving is not an easy thing to do but after almost two years relationship we wanted to live together and to make it possible we both had to move, we needed more space so we found a property with Foxtons Earls Court. We signed a contract (with a date set to move) and paid 4.5 thousand pounds deposit for the flat. They took copies of our bank statements, passports to make sure we would be able to afford the rent as usual (All the Estate Agencies do that). After that we received an email from Homeppl (Google it and take your conclusions) saying that to be "eligible" to rent with Foxtons and to "avoid" any delay we would have to register with Homeppl. Registering with Homeppl is very STRESSFUL AND TIME CONSUMING you have to book a slot to register, supply them with a tone of documents like 6 months of bank statements, details of your tax return, details of savings, your passports again (Foxtons already took copies if you remember) and so on. It's very confusing website and it becomes worse when Homeppl decides to phone you. Foxtons Earls Court throughout it's manager makes sure you do it quickly by threatening you by phone and email saying if you don't want to delayed your move you must finish the registration with Homeppl. Moving is already a stressful situation and Foxtons Earls Court and it's manager makes it worse. I will be very careful when I need to rent again and unless they change they appalling behaviour never from Foxtons again.

I got in touch with Foxtons because I remembered their great customer service from the past. Sure enough, I was not disappointed. As a student, I tend to move a lot which can be a real hassle in London. I was lucky enough to have Salim from Foxtons help me out. Whatever criteria I may have had, he accommodated me and went above and beyond what was required of him. Ask for Salim, he will find you the just right house and and, as for me, you might make a friend as well.

During my search for a property in London, I was contacted by Edy Ruiz from Foxtons. She initially contacted me after she'd had an extremely busy day which I was very grateful for. Not only did she immediately engage with my requirements and desired specification for a property, but she went out of her way to send me a number of options the next morning. For 2 consecutive weekends, Edy showed me a number of apartments in my preferred locations in London. She went into incredible depth during each viewing and had clearly done her research. I am an experienced landlord with more than 10 years of knowledge of this office and having dealt with numerous estate agents . Foxtons Earls Court (not al Foxtons branches work the same way, Foxtons in St John Woods is much more efficient for example) is extremely aggressive when it comes to seal the deal. They will tell you and assure you literally everything in order to get an instruction. They are exceptionally aggressive (would call you 20 times a day to get an instruction) when it comes to marketing and it can be useful at times, and at times it can backfire as they give 0 care after you actually rent it out the flat through them (dont expect to have your phone calls or emails returned, or anything like that, once you sign a tenancy agreement of instruction to seal you are literally 0) . Their commission is always prioritised (if they find you a tenant with 3 year tenancy, they charge you 3 years'c worth of commission upfront and if for example tenant leaves in year 1, it is for you to chase the tenant to retrieve the commission that you paid to Foxtons). Always read the terms of business when dealing with this office. Fancy offices and suits don't justify the bs this office would feed you with. Savills and Marsh & Parsons are way better agencies to deal with in the area.

Foxtons is running a scam. They will retain outrageous cleaning fees (200£ +) against your deposit, regardless of the state of the apartment when you give the keys back. They will claim “the cleaning is not up to professional standard). For the record we were 2 cleaning all day and this is what we did
1)We sprayed all surfaces with cleaning solution, wiped all surfaces.
2)We cleaned and disinfected the fridge, all drawers were taken out and washed, all shelves were also individually washed
3)The bathroom glass was cleaned with vinegar and all water lime deposit removed
4) the hair and soap grease filter in the shower was removed and cleaned and put back in its place
5) the toilet was completely scrubbed, in an all around, disinfected with gel, wiped
6) all floors were vacuumed and damp mopped
7) bedding and towels were laundered dried, folded, the bed made
8) the coffee table glass surfaces was cleaned with glass cleaner
9) garbage bin were empties and washed, disinfected and bin liners were put in
No matter how perfectly clean the place is they will keep a portion of your deposit. DO NOT USE FOXTONS THE ARE DISHONEST AND WILL TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

I tried to visit a flat with Foxtons, but it seems they have no focus on clients at all and no flexibility. If you don’t what they want, they don’t show you the flat. Such a terrible and basic error: the focus of any company should be the client, respecting client needs and availability to visit flats. Felt really disrespected.

I have used used Foxtons several times and found them to be very professional, but unfortunately a while back Olivia Brocklebank was dealing with my requests. On that occasion it was poor customer service. I found her to be moody with a bad attitude in general. She showed me round several properties which were not to my taste, but for some reason she made it out to be my fault/ that i was in the wrong that i didn't like any of them. It was very uncomfortable!!!!! Why would i spend thousands of pounds a month for a property just to make Olivia happy! Very disappointing.

As a landlord living abroad we really need to trust that our property is in good hands, lucky us that Sameer El-Sebai from Foxtons 239 Old Brompton Road came across and took me to a great team of professionals as Sophie Rolls and Alexis!

Foxton's seem to be more or less the most epensive agents around, unfortunately they had the property we wanted so we had little choice but to go with them, expecting excellent service. Instead, we were given a key which wouldn't open the door to the new flat, were not given the promised 'welcome pack' and found the fridge in the new place to be mouldy. On the plus side, the staff were friendly and offered us a tea while we waited, which duly arrived in the dustiest mug I've ever had the misfortune to drink from.
If possible - I would always recommend somewhere with lower fees.
