Wasted my time, I was interested in one of their properties and tried to arrange a viewing. I made the mistake of agreeing to multiple viewings as well and thought it would be good to see what was in my price range.
Five viewings where arranged and after the first which was out of my budget and not really what I was looking for I was informed the rest where cancelled. These viewings were all arranged more than a week in advance.
Utterly incompetent. As someone who works with a blue chip retailer who regularly looks at their leases for property, I was especially disappointed their residential service is so poor.

Really impressed by these estate agents, they are such nice people, I have never come across any other estate agents like them considering my 55 years of age. They really take customer service to the next level and they really do care about you and not just your money, we wasn’t really available for viewings during the week and they still made it happen for us on the weekend even with such short notice. Leo from lettings is such a nice young man and his manager Marta was so helpful with the paperwork. I couldn’t think of any other estate agents that I would recommend but these guys. Please keep up the good work as we need more agents like yourselves.

Awful experience with trying to buy with this branch. It's entirely put me off even dealing with them if I did see my dream home advertised.
We saw a property and it just didn't fit our criteria, cost vs. work that would need to be done didn't make it right for us.
Of course, the estate agent calls and asks for feedback, we very politely share it and he starts arguing with us and saying we don't know what we're looking for, we're inexperienced, we should go and figure out ourselves before calling Barnard Marcus ever again. Oh and of course it doesn't matter because "they already have another offer!" (so why have a go at us for not wanting to proceed? Also, why ask for feedback if you going to bite our heads off?)
I've owned property for years and I've dealt with hundreds of estate agents, this was by far the worst. It is such a shame because he was initially very lovely but I cannot believe the absolute unprofessionalism, entitlement and nastiness we were dealt with when we contacted this branch. Oh well, we will continue our search elsewhere.

You can’t trust this estate agent horrible they just care about money no value for customers.
We put our flat for sale with them in January 2023, in April flat was under offer, then we paid the legal fees towards our solicitors, and our management agency fees, around total about £3000 in July we called Bernard Marcus to check with buyer position than they said the buyer not ready to purchase, his or her mortgage not ready! What a west of time and money.
If I can review this agency 0 I will do.

What a shambles of a company! We had to deal with Jean Pierre as our Letting Agent throughout the paperwork process which was the longest process I’ve ever had to deal with. After having our offer accepted at the end of May it took 7 weeks for us to receive our tenancy agreement. When we finally received our tenancy agreement (a mere 4 days before our move date) it was instantly incorrect. When this was flagged we then found out that Jean Pierre was on annual leave (which we had no idea about due to the lack of correspondence even when chasing), we were then speaking the manager, Jakub Kedziora, who sorted a new agreement for the next day (this was only due to the fact I knew someone who had contact with Jakub, otherwise I’d still be waiting for a call back to this day!). Unsurprisingly, this was also incorrect and took another day for a new agreement to be sent through which was finally correct. As someone who works in the Lettings industry I am shocked how this company is still running and how a simple paperwork process took so long to complete (which I believe can be completed in 2 weeks maximum subject to referencing). Even when collecting keys on our move date they failed to give enough sets for each tenant moving in, something I thought would be checked before the move date. Our property also wasn’t professionally cleaned like requested when our offer was accepted, this was stated as a domestic clean on the inventory luckily which is something we will sort with the company when we come to vacate. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use this company for lettings or sales (yes, believe it our not we also had issues with them!) as 5 days before we were due to move in I received a call from a sales consultant requesting viewings for our move date. When I did speak to a manager about this I was told the consultant was new, however when checking the website it became clear they had been there 15 months! There is clearly a lack of communication between each side of the office bearing in mind they sit across from each other! Do not use Barnard Marcus!!

I tried to rent my property though a local agent, although after 3 weeks of advertising and limited viewings, I decided to reach out to Barnard Marcus and Jean Pierre from the Lettings team was the one to pick up. He was very friendly and he booked me a valuation with the manager Jakub. We agreed the fee and he took pictures of my property as well as a video. I was very impressed when I saw my property online 2 hours after the meeting. The following morning I received a call from Jakub and he has told me that the property has had a lot of enquiries and also to my surprise he presented me with 3 potential tenants, some which went above asking.
Overall experience was phenomenal, as they are very fast, engaging, informative and professional. Worth every penny and couldn’t recommend more!

We placed our property on the market in 2020 and trusted Barnard Marcus with the sale due to their no-nonsense attitude to selling and willingness to work with us on the price of the sale. I used Barnard Marcus when buying my first home. We just exchanged today with a view of completing next week and every step of the journey has been amazing.
From the first viewing with Shahana Hasif she made us feel really welcome and is super friendly and chatty. She also took the necessary precautions with regard to safety (we had our first viewings as soon as the market opened up post lockdown) so we felt very safe when entering the property and when speaking with her. She was also very knowledgeable about the property and answered all the questions we had. Following the viewings when we had other questions she was super responsive when replying to our emails and phone calls.
As this was our first property purchase obviously everything was very new to us as we hadn't gone through the process before. Shahana was so helpful towards us and took into account any reservations we had or if we were unsure about parts of the process and explained them really clearly.
In addition to this, we use Jack Brown as our mortgage adviser and he was also incredibly helpful and supportive. As FTB the mortgage process was a bit daunting but he was genuinely available whenever we needed him to talk through things and was incredibly quick at submitting our application and keeping us informed with updates as soon as he got them.
When speaking with both Jack and Shahana, I genuinely got the feeling that they were as excited as me about the journey to buying a house and it was really nice to share that with both of them.
I'd absolutely consider using Barnard Marcus Tooting if we ever come to sell the house if it means dealing with Shahana and Jack as they made it feel like a breeze.

We rented a property through BM in May 2017, when we viewed the property it was not clean and we were told the property will be professionally cleaned before our move in date. When we moved in the property was still in the same state and we emailed BM letting them know that we will not pay for a professional clean when we move out.
During our tenancy (that finished Nov 2019) we had the following issues:
1- Simple repairs such as fixing a sink tap or a toilet seat or a dishwasher or a toilet flush took over 3 months. Our last repairs which was a toilet tap was reported 4 months before our move out date and it was still not fixed by the time we moved out, multiple emails were sent to them but they didnt care.
2- We were only given 5-6 hours notice before viewings of the flat, most of the times we were at work and trusted state agents to show the property to future tenants. On 2 occasions the agent named KASHAF left the door of our property unlocked, luckily nothing was stolen.
3- We received our check out inventory 6 days after we moved out and most of the things were left in good condition (as per inventory), we were told that we will have to pay for the professional clean which i refused to as when we moved in flat was not professionally cleaned. I forwarded the email correspondence i had with the agent at the time we moved in.
4- A week later we received an email from Eleanor Baker stating that landlord will be claiming the whole deposit for the damaged caused to the sofa and wardrobe, when i told her that there was no damage when we handed the keys and there is no damage mentioned in the check out inventory and asked her how all of a sudden they are making this unsubstantial claim, her reply was “i will pass this on to landlords but i dont think they will drop the claim”. She totally ignored the check out inventory report carried out by a third party and stopped replying to my emails.
5- i called PJ several times and he told me several times that he will catch up on this situation and get back to me but its been 10 days now i am waiting for someone to tell me when am i going to get my deposit back.
I thought renting a property through estate agents makes your life easy but this has been terrible experience and I would never ever use BM or any high street estate agents as they all put on a professional face but don’t care about people and their money.

When you sign a contract you may think they are professional... until you actually move in. They do not even provide you with bank account details to transfer the rent. You will regularly get reminders to pay the rent, although you regularly pay it.
And, moving out, expect problems with getting your deposit back. It is not about the dispute, just no deposit and no communication with anyone. They even do not respond to TDS, when you eventually involve it!

Following a very disappointing service from a previous letting agency, I was understandably wary of having to use an agency to find my next property. I was pleasantly surprised as the negotiator and lettings manager were incredibly helpful, particularly during two rather challenging situations with the offer and my referencing. Wayne Henry, in the Tooting Branch was responsive, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we got our home despite the numerous challenges. He was very calm and patient (with the numerous phone calls) and I would recommend the services to those looking for a property. Sinan, Alaa, who is a Trainee Neogiator, responded to my texts out of hours and was very helpful. The only reason that I have not done a 5 star review is that the fees are slightly more than other agents but ultimately I think sometimes you do get what you paid for! Thank you BM.

One star is not low enough for this sham of an Estate Agents. We didn't know what time and where to pick up our keys ON THE DAY of our move in date. They then tried to charge us for inventory check which they weren't providing. The landlord called me in panic later that evening as he had received emails threatening that we would not move in if he did not sign contracts he had already signed months before, despite the fact that we had already moved in. Their communication lacks even that of human decency let alone someone dealing with your future home. Estate Agents are known for being spawn of the devil but these guys are a new breed.

I phoned the tooting branch with interests in a property I found online, I ended up speaking with a guy called Ben Watts in which he told me the property unfortunatly been taken.
He then recommended another property he had in mind...I was working on a tight schedule and I didn't even have time to view the room, I was sent a video via Watsapp of the property which Ben had conveniently recorded.
I literally put a deposit down straight away!! I was so impressed!

Just spoke with this company to de-instruct a let after no viewings, no calls, no updates - they refused to do this for me today acting like the person who holds complete control over their systems is on annual leave. They act like they are the Landlords in their speech & abruptness - what a joke!
I work in property myself & have never come across a group of unprofessional, lying, deceitful rude, arrogant, ignorant, street talking, bung taking agents in my entire life! How they ever get business is beyond me
If you want some serious advice from someone in the market - never approach these guys. These vampires are only after your money & offer a zero effort customer service experience. Would you normally invite sly & conniving people who want some of your cash into your home? So dont do it on this occasion either! Good luck with your move :)

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. From the moment we signed on the dotted line Barnard Marcus and the rest of Sequence Homes Ltd proved themselves totally unprofessional and incompetent - from not having our house keys to pick up when we moved in due to staff not being in on time because, in their words, some of them had 'been out for a few last night', to ignoring our reports of issues with our property, claiming they would pass messages on to our landlady, only to find that they had not been passing on any messages at all over a period of 6 months.
In the end a pipe bursting was the final straw and we had to deal with our landlady directly to sort out our unsafe house - she has now been forced to terminate her contract with Barnard Marcus and is now suing them for the money she paid for their total incompetence.
Whether you are a landlord or tenant - I would strongly advise you to stay away from Barnard Marcus.

I have never dealt with such rude and people in my life.
My sister and I were looking to buy a property in tooting. On numerous occasions we called about a few properties and promised to have our call returned by a member of their sales team. No one ever returned our call. Ever.
On the one occasion I managed to get through to one of the sales team named 'Bhavin Patel', he said we should sign up to the 'priority buyers list' (or whatever it was called). The idea of this list was to get us first viewings on new properties, but we had to provide pay slips and bank statements etc. When I said I didn't want to provide this information just to view a house, he became quite aggressive insisting I was making a mistake, and put me through to who I think may have been a mortgage advisor- he was equally aggressing and pushy. Bhavin refused to listen to my reasoning that no other estate agent required this information and was extremely condescending and rude.
I was very keen on the property in question, so when I called the main office to arrange a viewing the conversation went as follows:
BM: "Hello"
Me: "Erm, Hello? Is this Barnard Marcus?"
BM: "Yeah, Who do you want."
I wish I could portray the tone and manor of the conversation, but it was truly shocking.
I decided not to pursue viewing the property with Bhavin after he called me so many times to arrange a viewing, and in such a terrible mannor.
We ended up purchasing a property with Haart (tooting) who have been an absolute delight in comparison. Although, when Bhavin called me (again) I informed him of this and asked him to not contact me, and if our sale fell through I would be in contact. He ignored this completely, and continued to call me on numerous occasions, insisting i should still view his properties and sign on to the priorities list until our sale was complete.
