I have seen a Flat on the Wellingborough Road opposite Abington Park priced at £240,000 which I am quite keen on . I require no mortgage and the property has been listed for an incredible nine months unsold . This unsold for nine months aspect doesn't surprise me if my recent experience of dealing with Connells is anything to go by . They are completely abysmal .
My first call was answered by a Lady and we briefly discussed the fact that the property had only 85 years remaining on the Lease . Never having owned a Leasehold Property I asked her a few cursory questions namely about Lease Extensions and she told me she would check the details and call me back in an hour or so . 4 days later I had heard nothing and decided to call again this morning requesting a viewing . During those intervening 4 days I had made my own inquiries via the internet and was confident that after 2 years of owning the Flat I could indeed apply to extend the Lease .
I spoke to another Lady at 9am this morning who informed me that the staff were all in a meeting and someone would call me back . I offered her my details to facilitate this and she told me that this wasn't necessary as I was already on their "System"??
Needless to say it's now 3pm and I have heard nothing which given my previous experience doesn't surprise me . These People are absolutely hopeless . There is of course another aspect to this and thats the Owner of the Flat on the Wellingborough Road who have sat with a Flat unsold for the best part of a Year . With Connells Kingsthorpe as their Selling Agent and the way I have been treated as a potential Buyer my advice to them and you is find another Agent . Sellers and Buyers are simply being treated with contempt and thats disgraceful .
I note the reply from Lucy this morning which answers none of my points raised above . This is the trouble with these Generic Replies in that they leave you even more frustrated . What is happening with this flat Lucy ?

A Terrible Experience with Connells – Dishonest and Untrustworthy
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Connells, and I would strongly advise others to be cautious before dealing with them.
1. Pushy Mortgage Advisor – From the very first viewing, the mortgage advisor was aggressively pushing us to take a mortgage through them, despite us mentioning that we had other options through friends. Instead of respecting our decision, she insisted that even if we viewed properties with other estate agents, we should tell them we already had a mortgage advisor and come back to her. This high-pressure approach was completely unprofessional and unnecessary.
2. Misleading Information & Lack of Transparency – After our offer was accepted, we promptly sent the Agreement in Principle (AIP) within two days, only to be told that viewings would still continue. This was a surprise, but we proceeded and sent our Decision in Principle (DIP) as well. Shockingly, right after we submitted it, we received an email stating that the vendor had chosen to sell to someone else.
3. False Promises & Deception – When I called multiple times to ask why the property was still listed on their website if it had already been sold, they gave me vague responses, saying it would remain online until the previous buyer completed formalities. However, 12 days after our initial viewing, my friend called about the same property and was told that viewings were still ongoing and the vendor would be available after 5 PM. When I called Connells again to confront them, they backtracked and claimed this information was given by mistake.
This entire experience has left me with zero trust in Connells. Their lack of honesty, pushy sales tactics, and misleading information made this process extremely frustrating. I would never recommend them to anyone looking for a property. Buyers beware!

At first contact with Connells , Katie was a star very polite and customer friendly, but phoning again and being answered with a very bad attitude and sense of a spoilt brat was Lydia , I don't think Katie will last long , but eventually be spoilt by the attitudes of people that should be leading by example in professional uncompromising customer service, don't think Lydia appreciates a job and holds potential customers in contempt, my advice before proceeding further get a feel and view of the people's attitude when communicating with this branch if they are genuine or superficial

I have dealth with this branch before. This time they got me a client who was unsure to sell the property and I wasted 5 months and appx £600 of my own money. The branch response was very poor and do not care attitude - not heard from them. Not their own money! Stay Away.

This agency is the worst I ever dealt with. At the moment of moving in house was not ready, inventory which is charged additionally is just collection of useless photos. Inventory, has description of non existing rooms and does not include broken parts. During our letting assessment time we were supposed to force them to prepare contract and arrange payment. Agency is focused just on getting commisicom and does not care about property quality. And we made agreement about a month ago but property still available for viewing. Their work is unprofessional, they take money, including additional checks and do nothing. I will never gonna deal with them again. And company makes respond to positive feedbacks only.

Would give 0 if possible. Very pushy and constantly lied was more interested in getting their commission and selling extras.
One of the worst experience I have ever had and refuse to ever use them again for anything.
Submitted a complaint about the process and was told they would not do anything as it was my word against theirs. So me and my wife couldn't even submit a complaint.
