I had a scheduled viewing and, in my opinion, I have rarely seen such a low level of seriousness. No one showed up, I waited for nothing, and to make things even worse, I sent a message to the agent — they didn’t even bother to reply.
To me, this shows blatant indifference and complete disregard for people’s time.
From my point of view, the experience was deplorable, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone to waste their time with something like this.

After having watched Undercover Estate Agent on BBC Panorama I am shocked that this is exactly what happened to me with the Connells Walsall branch.
I had my viewing, me and my wife was very happy with the house and in a great position being cash buyers. The agent suggested I speak to Neelam Sharma (in-house mortgage broker) to free up our cash. I thought no harm in trying and then was presented with their £700 fee to taking out the mortgage and £100 for a lifetime membership (the agent also makes commission from the bank to top it off for them).
What should have been as straightforward as possible cash purchase this broker then decided they no longer want to proceed with us as I won’t be taking out a mortgage with them. To say I’m shocked is an understatement, it was the perfect house lost to us by these unethical agents and mortgage brokers.

I had put a lot of trust in the house buying process until I came across the Connells Walsall branch. Everything went smoothly up until the point I was being upsold on the in-house mortgage brokers (with Neelam), this was at the not so amazing price of £800!! I refused as I had my own brokers and the entire sale and agent communications went cold.
This £800 for an internal lifetime mortgage broker fee seems very suspiciously like taking money under the table to complete a sale, anyone dealing with these estate agents need to know that you are not obligated to take these and other services they are forcing to sell you (commission based Solicitors or Surveyors).
These unethical and unprofessional tactics has really been one of the most off putting experiences I have ever witnessed.
Anyone in communication with these agents please proceed with caution.
Doing a quick google search of “Dubious sales tactics at two leading estate agencies uncovered”, this article brings more light to exactly the experience I’ve just had.

Terrible service from the letting division - received a call back regarding fixing our oven as it had short circuited during the weekend - received an apology for not getting back to us sooner as she doesn’t work weekends & asked if she just woke me up as it was early
This was completely fine, expected & courteous I even found the situation humorous as I was woken up but relieved to get our oven sorted out and let out a little chuckle.
I was then met with an extremely awkward:
‘Are you laughing, really?’
The tone of conversation completely shifted and began the most condescending, dismissive, rude and snobbish interrogation I’ve ever experienced - short and snappy questions with a prompt disregard for the situation and lack of empathy. Was finally told I’d essentially be passed over & would received a text for access.
Which again, is fine as hopefully we’ll get our oven fixed but to be spoken down to such a manner for laughing a situation is completely unacceptable - pretty sure she slammed the phone down on me.
I am new to the property ladder and only wished to have a simple fix to the problem but the way this was conducted was outrageous.
To the letting agent who called me (Therese Gnosill I believe), please remove the stick from where the sun doesn’t shine and work on your people skills, decorum and customer service as you are severely lacking in all three.

Absolute scammers! They said they would offer several services and made us pay upfront. As soon as they got the money went silent and didn’t provide none of the services stated. When confronting them their complaints team, staff and manager are avoiding us. Took a big amount of money for nothing you can do yourself for free. AVOID!!! Reply : When trying to complain I get ignored. I have raised my issues 4 times through different complaints services over the last month.

If you are selling your property, it is better to not waste your time with them.
Getting to market was an effort as they were slow to respond and process anything.
I had zero feedback after viewings (which were very few). Even after chasing them up, no feedback.
I was on the market for a year but they never contacted me to tell me anything about the market or change the strategy with selling the property.
Even when emailing them to take the property off the market, there was no reply.
Maybe my property is trash and needs to be sold for half the price. Ok, call me, email me, tell me that your valuation was wrong and to change the asking price. But no, there is no communication from Connells.
I actually learnt more about the market and strategies to sell different types of properties in one phone call to Green’s than I ever did in a year of terrible communication with Connells.

So after finding a property on right move My sister made initial contact with the office based in Walsall, not only was the girl who answered the phone rude but also not actually listening to what was being asked during the call, so when she was finally listening she booked a viewing of the property for today as before looking said there was no viewings yesterday, she took my details including address and mobile phone number which had to be repeated several times. She told my sister that a text would be sent to confirm the viewing Tuesday 29th at 4.40, well near the end of business yesterday still no message I tried to call myself several times but to my surprise no one answered!
Tuesday morning my sister called again this time getting through to Adam all smiles and promises saying he would get the sales team to send the text to confirm the viewing which was now scheduled for this evening at 4.40, by lunch time still no message surprise surprise!!
My sister then called again and this time spoke to Louise who took all my details said the systems were down but would send the text message to confirm. I received the message stating the time day and date of viewing.
Now as I work away I traveled back for the appointment got to the property at 4.30 waited til 4.40 rang then intercom nothing called the office not once but 11 times when someone finally answered I explained no one there to meet me to be told there was nothing scheduled for this evening next viewings would be Friday!!
I’m not sure how properties are being sold through this office when there’s clearly NO COMMUNICATION at all what an absolute disgrace. I would definitely steer clear of these

Very poor service, I’ve contacted them soo many times like everyday to book a revisit for the property that I have purchased that I am going to move in soon, but no one picks up the phone every time when I call the estate. After (an apparently) gas safe engineer attended the property, a couple of hours after myself and 2 children were evacuated for a gas leek. It then took 4 weeks of me chasing both the landlord and agency to get a new boiler fitted, leaving me with no water or heating in winter! I was fobbed off so many times i become so frustrated I challenged the manager Lee Nunn and expressed concerns that i should be able to stay in a hotel and take the charge off my rent, to which he responded "you are obviously not happy with the property, we can look at ended you tenancy early". Absolutely disgusted with this company and i will warn anyone i can to stay away from you!

Find a well respected agent who can give you a PERSONAL management service. Amanda and Sally are forcefully in getting you to sign paper quickly without allowing you time to read through it, when question them they give you misleading information verbally, then lie to you. Please MAKE SURE every single communication is documented via email!! everything thing they inform you is misleading and they act illegally.
oh yes Amanda! - you mentioned via our call conversation that once the photo's have been taken and house has been sold. I would be refunded the money back and then you lie by saying that you didn't say it... interesting. you look good in a suit but your nothing behind it!! i am a key-worker and you robbed me. I found it interesting how you and Sally/Ben can say that you have earned your wage by selling my house. I did all the chasing around/ filling forms out and you just advertised my house for 4.5k or did you charge us more because we were ASIAN!! ! You/Sally/Ben are a disgrace to your company and your country!! complete embarrassment!! Lucky, I didn't sell my other 2 properties with you!! hahahaha you lost your company another 12k....

Really bad customer service, I had an open case for a remortgage and after waiting for more than 6 months ! they decided to officially write me an email stating they cannot help with the case.
On regular basis I was asked for personal bank details and statements which were provided with no delay (a tactic used by Connells to frustrate me to withdraw the case) . At the end I paid another provider who processed my remortgage in 3 weeks.

I would have give them 5 star but let down down by their recommended conveyancer after the sold sign came up. Conveyancer cancel our ist meeting as he would not be able to do conveyeyancing as he is not qualified to do so.
Wasting time and energy. Now I have to find another one this week and repeating the whole process taking time for completion of sale.
I am not sure how long it will take. Very disappointed indeed.

Connells made our dreams come true! From the moment I picked up the phone and spoke to/met with Ryan we were absolutely overwhelmed with the level of service and empathetic care we received. We had an extremely bad experience with Bairstowe Eve's who are a hopeless organisation and we were very reluctant on who to contact next in regards to selling our house. Ryan's empathy was second to none, we had viewings booked within a day and an offer less than 24 hours later! When passed on to the sales team we were always kept informed by Sally-Anne on a step by step basis and even went well out of her way to ensure everything was in order. By the time we were discussing completion the Pandemic Covid 19 struck us and even during lockdown the way the area director Joanne Richards managed to guide us to completion was a miracle in itself! Superb level of service through and through, would definitely recommend Connells and their super team over Bairstowes or anyone else any day! Especially at such a cheap fee!

Nothing but money grabbers.... You are being warned! Bought my house through them, charged me £500 for a lifetime membership on top of the other £2000 they charged me in fees, 2yrs later remortgaged with them, but had to pay £100 admin charge, although they told me it would be free withthe lifetime membership fee (a lie) then they cost me another £750 in other charges, from lender & solicitors, which they said I shouldn't of paid, although I tried to contact them for 2 weeks before to ask them that, they just kept on fobbing me off and never got back to me, I asked if I could get my £750 back being that it wasn't my fault, they said No, the money has gone now, which left me feeling totally ripped off and let down. They only answer your calls and reply before you've paid them, after that your none existant and couldn't care less about you, I will never go through connels again, and strongly advise you stay clear of them.

Not reliable ,you cannot trust them ,they can deceive you anytime, took my money as holding deposit and give flat to someone else and they fail to refund . And if possible stay away from natalie and paramjeet i think their names who play their cheap tricks to make few pounds or may be to loon good in front of their superiors or whole lot is like that .
So please guys stay away actually i am lucky they play their tricks right in the beginning and do not have stay with them in contract .
There is lot of honest estate agents out there if you want peace of mind .

Sold my house via connells and there sales pitch was excellent sadly the experience did not match up. It always felt like they were on the side of the buyer in negotiations and the communication from them was awful. They failed to send paperwork to there own conveyancing firm for weeks further delaying the sale. I wish I had gone elsewhere to sell.
