However, Alex and Phill were brilliant in pushing them to get things done, relentless in fact and it was hugely appreciated. These guys really are excellent and very glad they were involved. Having dealt with a different branch of Curchods for my own house sale several years ago I can say that Curchods Ottershaw have been equally efficient and professional in dealing with the purchase of a flat by my son. Esme was able to smooth the process and ensure the flow of information between my son's and the vendors' solicitors as well as the vendors themselves. It did get a bit stressful towards the end with the time limited mortgage offer about to expire (no reflection on Curchods) but we managed to complete at the last minute. Well done and thanks for your help Esme!

After an extremely stressful 8 months on the market trusting another estate agent wasn't easy. Right from the start I realised that Phil and his team worked differently. I was listened to from start to finish and all my concerns were addressed.

Esme and the team were absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. This was my first time buying a property so needed a bit of hand holding and Esme and the team were so friendly and supportive. She also recommended a solicitor and a mortgage broker. At first I was worried as I had heard some horror stories of people who had done this. But for us it worked out very well. It meant the process went smoothly and extremely quickly and everyone was in constant communication with each other. The process felt professional and efficient. I cannot speak highly enough of the Sales Team at Curchods. At the first instance, their knowledge of the market movements - specific to our particular property - far exceeded their competitors. What is sure, this is a company whose ‘words’ are followed by their ‘actions’. In short, Curchods are far more than an impressive sales pitch.
When it came to the practicals of selling our house, they took all of the stress out of the process and the resulting offers exceeded our expectations. Whilst there is undoubtably a significant role in how we presented our house for ‘viewings’, we would not have anticipated 7 offers within 5 days of the house going on the market; most of which where well above asking price. That is not to say their undervalued our house; indeed, their value was above competitors and their clearly explained strategy came to fruition. Also given their thorough checks on the position of each offer (chain position / deposit / potential move-in dates etc), we were extremely confident in choosing the eventual offer that suited our circumstances and time frame to move house.
Perhaps most impressive, was the role played by Tobias Davies (Senior Negotiator). The phrase ‘above and beyond’ comes to mind. For example, Tobias was both instrumental and the sale of our home as well as our onward purchase. His communication up and down the chain was the glue that held the entire process together, which proved pivotal in maintaining momentum. Similar to his colleagues at Curchods, Tobias was so quick at replying to emails.
When selling and buying a home can feel like an isolating experience - despite the fortune you fork out for solicitors etc - it was Curchods that pulled through.
At the very least, you should invite Curchods to do a Valuation on your home. You won’t wait to be impressed.

On the whole, I received an excellent service from Curchods. My 4 star review simply reflects that advice, offered I'm sure with the best intentions, given on the pricing of my property fell a little short and could have cost me £20-25K, however, I kept to a price that felt right given the current market and the first viewer offered full asking price.
I can recommend Shoosmiths the second conveyancer suggested by Curchods. However, this was after going against my instincts about going with Curchods' first recommendation, AVrillo, who did not offer a 'no completion no fee' clause so I would potentially be subject to fees even if the sale did not complete for whatever reason.
Joe and Phil are absolutely delightful and I cannot fault them for their support and professionalism throughout the sale. A very efficient team.

Having had less than ideal service from some agents before I was somewhat dubious about agents that promise too much. I must say I was wrong in this regard with Curchods. I found the whole team to be personable and professional and did as they said they would. I am also confident in saying that if it hadn't have been for Phill we would probably still be waiting to move - he moved the whole process on with real determination. Would certainly recommend and would use them again if I was ever back within their geography.

Having used local estate agents in the past,I was swayed this time by the local knowledge and professionalism of Curchods.
I was not disappointed.
Right away from the first meeting with Jonathan, we were both confident that a sale could be achieved.
After the first buyer pulled out,Jonathan got back on the case and within a week I had another buyer!
The case was handed to Phil,who again,I cannot praise enough,regular updates,and reassurance,made me confident that everything was being done effectively.
I do, however, believe that without Phil and the teams persistence, I would not be ready to complete this week.
Whoever thinks that Estate Agents do not earn their money these days,then, I would strongly advice you to use Curchods

I have very recently gone through purchasing a property with Curchods in Ottershaw. I have to say how professional and helpful they are during what is a really stressful time. I had a few problems along the way and Curchods could not do enough to help me. Phill Shortman kept me up to date with weekly contact calls and when things got difficult he was absolutely brilliant and certainly went the extra mile to guide me through to exchange of contracts. Phill did everything he could and pointed me in the right direction every time. Without his help the deal would have been in real jeopardy. I think we may have completed one of the quickest house moves in recent history...
Our agent was Phill Shortman, who is enthusiastic, knowledgeable and reliable. He really showed his experience as an agent throughout the process, providing regular updates without being overwhelming and clearly working hard behind the scenes. Also, Phill is a great communicator which made us feel confident and at-ease as first time buyers. He seemed to genuinely care that the process of buying the house was as smooth as possible for both the vendor and the buyer.

Buying a house comes with its own stresses, without the added pressure, harassment and unfair treatment of staff at Curchods in Otterhsaw.
In case you are not familiar, the average sale of a property takes 3-6 months depending on the circumstances. Therefore, with a no-chain approach to buying through Curchods, we hoped to be straight forward customers.
We faced set-backs from the property we were purchasing in terms of lease extension, however bullying tactics and unfair judgement passed on to the vendor from Churchods, left us feeling brandished at fault. We were sold the property with a lease extension and when we were advised we could not sign the contract (a legally binding document) as it included the original, short lease we received threats from the agent and vendor stating they would pull out.
This concludes that the staff at Curchods Ottershaw are unprofessional in their treatment of clients, let alone completely incompetent of understanding the purchasing process.
From start to contract signing, it had been 3 months and 1 week, a relatively short process as far as buying and selling property goes. But we cannot express how under pressure and pushed from the agent we were to move quicker throughout the entire process.
The entire process left us extremely unhappy and somewhat out of pocket after further charges arose. We have now gone elsewhere to purchase a property where the agent is fully cooperative, knowledgeable of costs involved and ultimately understanding of the process

We have just used Curchods for the purchase of our first home.
Being the buyer, we do not have any input on who the agents are but on this occasion, i think we were very lucky to have Curchods Ottershaw involved.
Our Agent was Phill Shortman who we had met on previous viewings before offering on the property. The purchase of this property was a bumpy road which is no fault of Curchods and took longer than expected but without Phill, it would have taken much longer. Phill was available all hours, went above and beyond to ensure the process kept moving and was always a joy to deal with.
If you get Phill when purchasing you are lucky like ourselves but if you are selling a property I would certainly recommend choosing Curchods Ottershaw and the services of Phill.

We purchased our new property through the Ottershaw branch and Phill was our contact, a very personable individual with lots of character. He was professional at all times, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable.

I'd like to say that I had the foresight to use Curchods from the beginning but unfortunately I initially made the poor decision of signing up with a different estate agent who managed the process badly from the beginning. As soon as I was able to get out of the sole agency contract I contacted Curchods and it was the best decision I could have made. The contrast couldn't have been greater; everyone at Curchods was professional, polite, personable and passionate about selling our property and hit the ground running with targeted viewings followed up with helpful feedback. Phill Shortman was a particular pleasure to deal with and we were thrilled that Curchods won the sale over the other agent involved in the joint agency agreement. Phill has kept us informed throughout the process and has helped to hold the chain together, which hasn't been easy given the length of time things have taken to come together. It hasn't been the smoothest process, but it has been far smoother by having Curchods Ottershaw involved and I wouldn't hesitate to use them or recommend them in the future. Sam's energy, competence and always positive approach reassured me throughout what is a difficult process. It's difficult because of folk getting unrealistic expectations in what is essentially a methodical, time consuming process. I do not envy the task but Sam with Jonathan brought forth a successful outcome. The staff not directly involved , Phill and Sue, were helpful and friendly, I have no doubt the whole team is professional and competent.
