I chose Gascoigne-Pees as they were probably the first estate agent whose name stuck with me when I first came across it in the1950s. When I discussed the sale of our happy home of nearly 40 years with GP I said I had a guide price. GP suggested a higher price given recent sales in the area. The house was on the market for week or so, then GP had a weekend showing which attracted a number of potential buyers. Three made offers, two above the median of my and GP's suggestions. I accepted one of the offers as I did not want to prolong the sale process. GP, my and the vendor's solicitors then progressed the sale to completion much more rapidly than expected. I had a terrible experience with this agent. I tried to view a property before the open day because I couldn't make the date but was refused (fair enough). I turned up on the day, nobody around so i called the agent and was told it got cancelled and didn't you get the message. Reasons for bad review: 1. You cancelled a viewing without telling me which meant i wasted my time. 2. The reason the viewing was cancelled was because you sold the property to someone that you allowed to visit before the open day but i was refused this opportunity (seems like an opportunity for foul play here). 3. I sent feedback to your company directly but haven't even had a courtesy call so I decided to leave a public review of my experience.... Read more
