I dislike having to leave negative reviews especially when Foxton's comes so highly recommended but my experience was nothing short of terrible.
I found a flat through the company and upon receiving the lease, the legal document was full of typos and mistakes. Upon paying the deposit and signing the lease, I was told at 6pm that I had to make the 12 month upfront overseas rental payment that day or I would risk losing the property. This was never raised to me before they demanded the payment out of business hours.
After paying the deposit and signing the lease, I was informed that the property had fallen through. I had already made arrangements to move and was forced to resign my current lease.
I then had to get my deposit back and had to call numerous times as my emails were ignored. Additionally, I was informed by the deposit insurance company that my deposit was no longer protected. I eventually got my deposit back after numerous emails and phone calls. Throughout my time with Foxtons, the team was ill informed and unprofessional forcing me to resolve most of the issues myself.
I understand this may have been one bad experience, however, I strongly advise against using this company unless you absolutely have to.

Worst agency ever.
They made me pay huge commissions and they didn’t even check the apartment before my move-in. At the first issue, they shared photos of the apartment which were weeks older than my move-in date.
Moreover, we had a problem with a mouse entered in the flat and didn’t care at all.

Below is a detailed account of our profoundly disappointing experience with Foxtons whom we dealt with during our three-year tenancy in London. My husband and I have been renting properties in London for the past 15 years, dealing with various agents. Unfortunately, our experience with Foxtons has been the most disappointing and frustrating of all.
Upon moving into the property in 2020, one of the first problems we encountered was a significant rusty hole on the edge of the bathtub, a clear result of water damage. We had explicitly requested this issue to be fixed before signing the contract, as it was causing visible damage to the adjacent wall also. Despite our multiple emails and calls, Foxtons/Landlord ignored our requests, dismissing the problem as merely aesthetic and insisting that we could live with it. Three years later, the bathtub issue escalated when it started leaking. A specialist sent by Foxtons confirmed what we had suspected all along: the entire bathtub had been leaking for years, causing the large hole. Foxtons or a Landlord had neglected this critical issue, causing further damage and inconvenience.
Additionally, the property had a strong odor of cigarettes and other unpleasant smells when we moved in. Attempts to ventilate the living room were futile, as the windows were sealed shut. During the COVID-19 pandemic, this situation became dire and was exacerbated by Foxtons' lack of response and assistance. We endured six months of passive-aggressive behaviour and unresponsiveness before the issue was resolved. It took 5 min to unseal one of the windows. This situation has caused us a lot of anxiety and impacted our mental health.
Additionally, the overall state of the property was far from perfect. There were cracks on the walls, and they were visibly dirty when we moved in, a condition we meticulously documented on the first day. Furthermore, a moldy and dirty sofa and chair were left in the kitchen, posing serious health and safety concerns due to the extensive mold growth. Frustrated by Foxtons' lack of response to these basic issues, we took matters into our own hands. We sought the landlord's permission to paint the living room walls at our own expense and professionally cleaned the sofa and chair, even replacing their covers ourselves.
Upon moving out after three years, our ordeal continued. Foxtons sent us a claim for £1,500 via ZERO DEPOSIT, based on a check-out report that was astoundingly inaccurate. Remarkably, we had never received a check-in report, that should have been provided by Foxtons upon moving in. The check-out report was filled with ludicrous errors, such as labelling a sofa as missing despite it being in the photos they took themselves for the checkout report…. They attempted to charge us for items that were never missing, and for pre-existing cracks in the walls and structural wear and tear that had been present since day one. Fortunately, due to our meticulous documentation and detailed records, our evidence exposed Foxtons' mistakes and lack of professional support to tenants. As a result, the claim was reduced to £50, covering the cost of missing bulbs, which we deemed fair. This was a ridiculous waste of time for so many people involved in this process.
In conclusion, our experience with Foxtons was marred by their failure to address critical issues, unresponsiveness, lack of fundamental documentation, and an astonishing lack of attention to detail during the check-out process. This ordeal had a significant impact on our well-being and mental health. I strongly urge prospective tenants and landlords to exercise extreme caution when considering Foxtons as their property management agency. We hope that our detailed account serves as a warning to others.

I am based in Leeds and I will move to London in August, after finding a flat through Foxtons Crouch End. Before getting in touch with Julide, I had spoken with other colleagues from different branches and I felt like they did not understand my circumstances and the difficulty I was facing when arranging last-minute viewings in London. After speaking with her, I truly felt understood and that I could trust her. She offered to videocall me from the properties she thought were a match so that I could ask questions and view them in real-time even if through a phone. I have just rented a great property in a perfect location through Foxtons Crouch End.
I had previously rented through Foxtons and knew they were efficient and good at what they do.
However on this occasion I do feel my agent Elettra Bailey went above and beyond to help me. I desperately needed a property at short notice after almost 3 months of searching, making offers and being rejected. I was close to giving up.
Elettra called me about my application very quickly and organised a viewing for me very quickly. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the property, answered my questions promptly and assisted me throughout the entire process. She was really understanding and kind about my situation too.
The online rental process via My Foxtons is very straightforward even for a sleep deprived night shift worker and felt much safer than places like Open Rent (but that is a different review).
10/10 recommend. Elettra you were brilliant and I can't thank you enough!

I was having a very hard time securing a flat due to hunting remotely as I was living out of London at the time, and transitioning across jobs at the same time. I was getting frustrated with ignored enquiries and poor communication, but then registered interest in a Foxtons property. I was contacted next working day by Julide, who was friendly and helpful and got the ball rolling quickly. She understood it would be difficult for me to make a viewing, and instead she filmed a video tour showing the flat and the area. Julide sent this via WhatsApp and was on hand to progress everything really efficiently, which was very refreshing! She answered all my queries in a really timely way and I think went above and beyond what would be expected.

Foxtons was eager to sign us on the lease, but completely unresponsive and unhelpful when we moved into the property. There were bare wires hanging out of the ceiling that hadn't yet been fixed by the landlord, not to mention several other issues that were supposed to have been fixed per our lease terms.... agreed to with Foxtons.
We were able to eventually work things out directly with the landlord and have enjoyed the property for the last 4 years (including one lease renewal period 2 years prior). Foxtons has done nothing to help us in that time to earn their fee of 10%+ of annual rent.
When the lease renewal came up in Aug-2021, we informed Foxtons that the landlord and we would be coming to separate arrangements. We would be staying on at the property, just not through Foxtons. No issues were raised at this time by Foxtons - however it turns out they sent the council and Thames Water notifications that the property is vacant. We now have to spend uptold hours on the phone sorting out both.
Vindictive action by Foxtons? Probably not. Careless, infuriating, and easily preventable with a little tickbox "tenants will be remaining in property"? Yes.
As a result, we will never rent a property through Foxtons in the future. When we're finally on the property ladder, we will not use Foxtons in anyway. We cannot trust them or their systems and processes.

My wife and I are relocating from the US to London. We were not familiar with the neighborhoods of London at all and had no idea where to start our flat search. We put in an inquiry for a flat being let by Foxtons and Cristopher Ruffo contacted us within an hour. He was very accommodating to work around our schedule as to when we could meet. Once we met, he sat with us to get an understanding of what we were looking for in a flat and neighborhood that would fit our budget and lifestyle (we have a cat and a dog). After narrowing down a couple neighborhoods and properties, we were off. We found the perfect flat and put in an offer. The rest of the process took place while we were back in the US. He was very responsive on email and phone. We never once felt worried on confused in the process. Foxtons also has a great online portal for all document signing and submitting. Overall Cristopher made a somewhat tedious task into a very smooth and easy process. I would highly recommend Cristopher and the Foxtons team for anyone looking to let in London.

I would be happy to recommend Mr. Michael Sikora at Foxtons to anyone looking for a property. Michael helped us greatly when my daughter was moving to London for the first time on a 12 month work placement. We had not idea of where to start as there are so many properties in so many areas. Despite finalising with another estate agent, Michael Sikora and his colleagues in the lettings team at Foxtons Crouch End went above and beyond when trying to match us with a property in North London. Michael was very attentive and listened carefully to what we were looking for, which led to us putting in offers on two different properties. Superb service from Michael and no pushy sales tactics made the process easy and enjoyable. If you're looking for a good place to start your lettings search I would highly rate Michael and the team.

Awful service. From both a tenant and prospective buyer, constant daily phone calls about properties that fall outside of your requirements, property shots taken with wide angled lenses.
On the tenant front we repeatedly receive requests to hold a viewing with under 24 hours notice - which is illegal. On one occasion we had just 10 minutes notice!
Avoid - at all costs!

From the initial valuation to the eventual completion of the chain, the staff that I dealt with from the Crouch End office were fantastic. Vikki Broad, the manager, was always there to give us the right advice and would go through all the feedback from the multiple viewings. She clearly runs a tight ship that expects results! Kate Blenheim who managed to secure the buyer was constantly updating us with progress reports through the transaction so we could be transparent with our onward purchase.
From decision made on buying a house in a different area, the whole process took 7 weeks.
Not bad considering Vikki and her team did all this from the end of November..! Plus they achieved the asking price which was the only figure that could secure our onward house!
I'm writing this a happy man on the first morning in our new house.. But most importantly I have a very, very happy wife!

Thomas spent the time to prepare for our viewing, actively listened to our feedback and made a rare effort to understand what our requirements were in detail.
