I strongly advise you NOT TO USE Hamptons as agents on your sale.
I sold my property through Hamptons within the last few months and found them to be incompetent, lacking in moral character and professionalism throughout the sales process.
Hamptons fell well short of the minimum standards you would expect of an agent;
1. Inability to proactively manage the sales process resulting in significant delays to exchange
2. Despite claiming significant expertise, Jonathan Rose (senior agent at the branch) has a defeatist, pessimistic demeanour, regularly catastrophising issues rather than working with the client to resolve them
3. Agents appear to work in the best interests of the buyer, not the vendor, contrary to standard practice
4. Jonathan Rose was rude and unprofessional on numerous occasions - when challenged on approach, he has twice hung up the phone, showing a total lack of accountability - I received similar feedback on Jonathan from other parties in the chain
5. Another Hamptons agent shared, without my consent, personal health details with my buyer in order to “explain away” delays
6. Failed to achieve sales price they set, indicating lack of local market knowledge
If you want an agent that adds zero value, but still expects an exorbitant fee, go with Hamptons….
Edit: Hamptons are aware of this feedback and have done NOTHING. They admitted no fault, adjusted my fee by a token amount but threatened court action if I didn’t pay their full fee. Atrocious behaviour.

Couldn't think of a worse experience than the one we had letting a unit from Hamptons. If you are debating whether to let your unit with them or to sign a unit that they are letting, beware and go elsewhere if possible. The agent, Mark, wilfully lied to us to convince us to let our unit. No matter what they respond to this review with, it was clear that they were well informed of a conflict in our lease and chose to mislead us into signing it. Realistically, we should have been more ruthless about the contract terms, but didn't realise that letting agents could act in such bad faith. I generally don't write reviews but felt like people deserve to be cautioned.

The agency is doing everything to not return the deposit despite the house was returned in the same condition (after only 11 months).

Years ago I rented a flat from this estate agent ripped me off after we signed the letting agents said they had miscalculated a fee me being me gave him the money in cash when I did actually ask for a break down his response was - I don't recall!'Crooks so I tough them a lesson I didn't pay rent for 2 months of the contract they had the owners climbing the walls lol

I would be pretty careful dealing with Greene & co. A few years ago we put an offer down on a flat which was accepted by the owner. Cue to the following week and our offer details came back from Greene & co but with an extra £10,000 up from our offer. We immediately rectified this with them but apparently due to some "miscommunication" between a junior agent (which we had made the offer through) and management, they were unable to go back to our original offer. When we placed our offer, they guaranteed us over the phone the property would be taken out of the market - however my wife had scheduled a viewing for the next day separately from me and they didn't cancel it - clearly they continued to show the property after our offer was accepted (on a friday) to other buyers, who in turn offered slightly more and then Greene & co coming back to us with a higher bid. This is called "gazumping" and though they never admitted to it, it's blatantly what happened. Be that as it may, we turned down the higher price and looked elsewhere. The irony is that the buyers who offered a little more than us pulled out of the deal a few months later, luckily we were still looking so we got in near our original price point. This must have also been frustrating to the owner (their client) as he lost a few months in the process just so they could sell it for a few £'000 more. After that the transaction was pretty smooth, but tread carefully, they seem to be a bit on the swindling side of things if they can get away with it.

As everyone will say buying a house is very stressful and time consuming. Me and my husband had actually given up and took a break when Peter phoned us to asked us to come for some viewings. Before that, we were looking for properties ourselves on internet just to be constantly disappointed about how different they were in reality.
We met Peter with little hope and it was the best that could have happened to us. He focused on asking us the right questions and our non-negotiable to understand our needs and then selected from his portfolio properties that would fit our criteria and budget.
We met him twice and he took us to see 4-5 properties each time, much more than what we managed in the past months on our own, he was really on the money with what he showed us, so much that we found one property that we liked and then another one that we loved and made an offer immediately.
Peter worked tirelessly for us to help us get that property (a little under asking price); he helped us with the seller and with any questions on the process. He was available all day, all night and helped speed things along with solicitors and intervened when they were blockers in the process.
We have finally exchanged contracts and really we couldn’t be happier with our home which we wouldn’t have found if he wasn’t for him! Can’t recommend (and thank!) him enough!

These people are so bad it's nearly criminal. We rented our flat out with them and they told us the tenants would be there at noon on a certain day to get the keys. At 7am that day, I was woken up by a noise...the tenants breaking into the flat with a locksmith! Apparently the agent didn't pass the message on that they were to be there at noon. Ok, these things happen. But we had agreed to rent the flat out fully furnished, and the tenants came with a moving van at 7am to take out our furniture!! The nasty female agent (Rachel, I believe) couldn't have cared less. Basically, just told me 'the contract is signed, it's a done deal', despite the horrendous violation of contract by these terrible tenants. The people Green & Co found were from hell - they destroyed our flat in the end, painted all the walls weird colours, lost or destroyed many of our belongings, and thank god they cut their contract short and had to move out early. But the whole tenancy was a terrible struggle and the woman at Green & Co had a very nasty attitude about helping us deal with them - she's very arrogant, rude and pushy. Never, ever again!

I had an outstanding experience with Greene, particularly Zeeshan and Amaya were very helpful sorting out my move out of the apartment which was managed by Greene. This was very surprising, as the same company's property management arm provided a shameful and despicable service, changing property managers every year, never responding or returning calls, and always taking at least 2 months to sort even the smallest issues out. I was pleased to see that the Haverstock Hill branch seems to be very different, and they really went out of their way to support me. I do want to warn both tenants and landlords though, you really want someone else to manage your property!!!

I recently made an offer on a property in NW5 that Greene & Co listed.
Josh Lytton showed me and my parents around the property I ultimately made an offer on, and subsequently showed my parents around another I was looking at. He was very knowledgable, honest and friendly, and gave us space to look around without trying to put on the hard sell (which some agents do and can be very off putting).
Josh also made himself available for me to get access to the property after the offer so I could take some measurements I had not done the first time around, and I'm sure we took up much more of his time than we should have, however not once did Josh make us feel rushed.
The rest of the team, including Scott Finn and Josh Goldring have been great in getting the deal finalised and are always very quick to respond.
Overall my experience with buying with Greene & Co has been terrific.

Unfortunately due to complications with our sale, the deal fell through - however, Scott and his team worked effortlessly to try and resolve issues which were completely out of his control, and the deal not completing was unfortunate given the efforts of him and his team. We had the pleasure of being looked after by Dominic, who showed us two flats, one of them on 3 different occasions.
Dominic was very helpful in that he would try to accommodate our time schedules which were difficult due to work and child commitments.
We also felt that there was no pressure at any time to make a decision on the properties which made for a more relaxing viewing experience. In addition, Dominic's knowledge of the properties we looked at extended to finer details, such as works carried out in the flats and permissions required.
I would highly recommend Dominic for his professionalism and willingness to help.

I initially had my property listed with another agent who's engagement had proved lacklustre during the first quarter of 2016. So, at the beginning of April, I scoped out three competitors with a view to changing agent. Scott Fin from G&Co's Haversack Hill branch was one of the agents that came round to value my property. He had a persuasive sales pitch - as do they all - but his determination was more apparent than the others. Ultimately, I'm very glad that I did entrust him with the sale; his performance was exceptionally good. He remained in continuous contact with me whilst try to secure a buyer, which he did quite quickly. He didn't sugar-coat his language but had a pragmatic, driven approach. He would routinely contact me outside of regular office hours with the latest updates, and would always respond to my messages at the earliest opportunity. I appreciated his candid style of communication and we developed an excellent rapport. Through some challenging moments, he proved to be my closest ally in the entire sales process. Scott's performance genuinely surpassed my expectations, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to other potential sellers.
