I am writing this long-overdue review to warn other potential tenants about the awful service and complete lack of support I experienced with Hamptons Putney throughout my entire tenancy. It is clear that they only look out for landlords and treat tenants with complete disregard.<br>1. Uninhabitable Living Conditions & Major Neglect Right from the day I moved in, I was unable to use half of the flat due to a leaking toilet that was actively causing severe mold, compounded by a completely broken ventilation system. When I reached out to report this, the issue was left unresolved for nearly two months. This significantly impacted my health and triggered my allergies daily. Despite losing the use of half my home, Hamptons offered absolutely zero compensation or urgency. To make matters worse, my initial property manager completely ignored my communication and refused to answer calls. This wasn't an isolated incident; any issue raised throughout my tenancy was completely deprioritized. For instance, the air conditioning was left broken for eight months without being fixed. I was paying nearly 3 grand a month for poor conditions.<br>2. Predatory Checkout Charges & Bizarre Miscommunication The unprofessionalism continued right through to the end of my tenancy. During checkout, I was hit with ridiculous, unfair deductions. They charged me to replace lightbulbs in closets that didn't work from the day I moved in (and that I didn't even know existed). Worse, I was charged for an issue with a carpet in a bedroom I didn't even use.<br>To show how completely disorganized they are: I kindly left hundreds of pounds worth of furniture in the flat completely for free for the incoming tenants. I explicitly secured approval from both Hamptons and the new tenants beforehand. Yet, at checkout, Hamptons claimed they had no idea the furniture was being left, despite me raising it multiple times and double-checking that it was allowed.<br>3. We Left the Flat Better Than We Found It What infuriates me most about these petty deductions is that we treated the flat amazingly and left it in a much better condition than when we first moved in. The tenants who lived there before us had clearly not taken good care of the property at all. Despite us actively improving the state of the flat during our time there, Hamptons still tried to claw back money.<br>4. Deposit Held "Hostage" It took Hamptons well over a month just to return my deposit. I was effectively backed into a corner and forced to just accept these unfair charges and pay up, knowing that if I contested them, they would withhold my entire deposit even longer.<br>Hamptons Putney showed zero duty of care towards me as a tenant. They do not care about your health, your living standards, or basic administrative competency—they only care about protecting the landlord's pocket. Save yourself the stress, the health risks, and the financial headache, and rent through an agency that actually values professionalism.

I can see many people have had great experiences with Hamptons, but unfortunately mine wasn’t one of them. As a buyer, I felt pressured throughout the process to move ahead before I’d had the chance to complete proper due diligence. This was especially frustrating given that delays were coming from the seller’s side.<br>Comments like “It’s a bit late to ask for a survey” felt dismissive and unhelpful, and the overall tone came across as pushy rather than supportive. Buying a home is stressful enough, and the lack of understanding made it even harder. Based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this branch.

This has to be the worst and pushiest estate agency I’ve faced. I enquired on a property and was told it wasn’t pet friendly, yet this individual kept emailing it to me every 3 weeks. Clearly, they don’t care about your requirements and just fire emails to you regardless of what you want. I’ve asked 5 times to be removed from their mailing list, last week I was assured that it had been taken care of. The same individual emailed me once again today, breaching GDPR rules, to send me the same property I had enquired on 2 months ago and was told it wasn’t pet friendly.

An absolute nightmare!<br><br>This is my first review of this sort, I work with clients so I’m weary of the impact a negative review will bring .<br><br>But we’ve had it bad, beyond belief.<br>Hamptons most certainly look out for the Landords but as tenants we are considered as second class citizens.<br><br>Emails ignored , and finally a leak which meant living in the dining room for 4 months.<br><br>Can’t wait to see the end of this nightmare !!!<br><br>Interested to see what the CEO would have to say if he knew of the living conditions we have been subjected to !<br><br>Still waiting for some response.<br>Who runs Putney branch?<br>Any names so I can get some answers from someone who can seriously explain how Hamptons is run

The worst rental experience I have ever had. The Landlord was uncontactable living in Dubai, and the maintenance team where obstructive in fixing any issues which needed sorting. The property was unsafe to live in - the windows fell out of the window frame, the glass shower panel fell off and my partner fell through a hole in the kitchen floor whilst it was being refurbished. Would avoid renting with Hamptons again at all costs.

Multiple intruding home visits with a coercive and threatening tone .
