Tasked with finding the right estate agent to market and sell my parents' house I met six agents, but for a variety of reasons I couldn't settle on any of them. Then I met Nicky at Hamptons and instantly felt she offered the professionalism and support I'd need. It wasn't because she gave the highest valuation of the house. On the contrary, Nicky's valuation was actually the lowest (but as events proved, the most realistic). But at that first meeting I felt she knew the local market inside out, and possessed the well-honed instincts that only deep experience can bring. Some people just radiate "trust me, I know EXACTLY what I'm doing". I assumed her team must be similarly great, and I was right. Everyone seemed to have a hand in the process, but Mark took the lead and was exceptional in both his constant communication (no detail of the process was too small to pass on to me), and his counsel whenever we encountered a wobble or needed advice. And from everyone at Hamptons, warmth and humour to make a tricky process a little easier. To anyone looking for the right estate agent to help you buy or sell, you'll find them at Hamptons in Whetstone. Like many other reviewers here, I can't recommend the team highly enough.

Being a first time buyer I was nervous going into the process but from the moment we contacted Hamptons to arrange a viewing the team was a delight to work with. I believe estate agents are given a bad rep as Mark was honest and helped manage our expectations from the get go giving us guidance throughout. During the entire process Mark stayed in constant contact touching base weekly with us (I will miss our calls) and the vendor which made the process a less anxious experience than I thought it would be. Mark even saved the day (and our future home) when we had a problem with our mortgage offer and he put us in contact with a mortgage advisor who was able to smooth everything out. We have now been in our new home for a week and will be eternally grateful to Hamptons Whetstone, especially Mark.

I recently sold my flat through Hamptons and found the whole service excellent. From my initial meeting with Nicola who was warm yet professional, i knew i was in good hands. The whole team were really on the ball with everything, and communication was easy and seamless. I was quite emotional about selling my flat as i have been very happy there and was quite attached, but the whole sale was handled very well, even when things got a bit stressful towards the end i felt the team had my back throughout, and Debbie was comforting, helpful and always returned my calls quickly when i needed to speak to her. I also got a great price on my flat, other agents had valued it at a lower price but it is a fantastic home and i knew it was worth way more. Hamptons really delivered and i highly recommend them. The fact that so many of the team have been there for years is testimony to what a happy, cohesive and well managed team they are. Thank you very much Hamptons!

While having very different styles, Mark and Debbie showed round most of those interested. When they weren't available, they were happy for my wife and I to present our home to potential buyers.
Having chosen a buyer, the team worked tirelessly to make the sale happen. It was far more than just closing for the commission: they were there to answer any questions, to make calls to solicitors and the buyer, and to encourage us when the sale looked to have fallen through (twice!). In the end, they totally justified my trust in them.

Over all, very pleased with the service from Hetheringtons. Nicky knows the local market well. Sometimes we had duplicate messages from different people in the office, occasionally with days inbetween which was a bit confusing, but the viewings were handled well, with some feedback. Some of the original photos they wanted to use and the description needed changing, but this was soon rectified. I think the best thing about the team, is they are not your typical smarmy Estate agents, they are genuine people and this from someone who's Father was an Estate agent! Would I recommend them ? The first meeting with Nicky the Manager seemed to be a positive experience. I encouraged my fiancé to use their services after meeting with two other estate agents in the area. However, from that moment on the experience went downhill. Nicky had no involvement in the sale of the property. There was no care taken when viewings took place in the property. A number of times returning to find all the lights left on in the flat and sometimes this would have been across a weekend while we were away. Even my house cat was shut in a room so he could not access his water and litter tray by them. The whole experience felt like Hetheringtons did not have our best interest at heart. Mark was very patronising and condescending at times. Not listening and talking over you. Debbie even got involved in contacting the owners of the property we were looking to purchase without our permission to negotiate a longer period for them to wait for us to sell our property. We were about to take our property off the market with them and to instruct a new agent. When we had two offers made and we went for the ones with no chain. This took a period of 6 months and every time we asked why the purchaser wasn’t progressing. It was always blamed on our solicitor who they recommended us to use. It became clear after some time that Hetheringtons had not undertaken the proper financial checks on our purchaser which was the main reason for the delay. After putting pressure on for some time. I was then told we should start showing other people the property. We then gave a hard deadline to complete by which pushed the sale through. It was a stressful experience with daily calls being made to Hetheringtons. I would not sell with them again or recommend them to our family and friends. As well as in a professional capacity when we often get asked by our clients who we would recommend for selling their houses.

We chose to use our local Whetstone Hetheringtons as we both wanted a flat in this trendy new build and Hetheringtons had the contract. We're long term renters and finding the right place was proving stressful (self employed) until we visited Hetheringtons..
